Seems like the Vorpx-forced change from <directx forcedx9=”false” /> to <directx forcedx9=”true” /> causes the issue. I have tried manually setting my ingame profile (ingame and via the file) with it being set to read only AND Vorpx set to not change game setting in the menu, and it is now much more stable. This variable is correlated with the game crashing with Vorpx – it’s fine otherwise, I used it before.

That said, even without this code change, it’s still completely broken as I do no get recentering, the vorpx menu, and G3D option is 100% gone for good regardeless of what I do. At least I found a (annoying) way to make something work, but it would not have been remotely as bad if we could simply ignore the local profile.

That’s actually the second time where those imposed local profiles lead to more problems. We really need a way to kill them, or at the very least remove the exe… Renaming is almost never an option (not with legit game copies anyways).

Anyways: Dirt 2 and 3 profiles need fixing or be removed until they actually work.

I have that exact same problem in Dirt 3. Vorpx has an official profile. It worked once, the first time, giving me both recentering shortcut, menu shortcut and G3D. It does not have headtracking so I can to use cinema mode (my preferred option anyway).

Upon exit, it crashed the game. Now no matter what I try (factory reset local profile, revert original game config with Vorpx or manually, etc.), I cannot use shortcuts anymore, cannot recenter, and stuck with the screen following my eyes, no peek view shortcut. And that’s why I fine a way to make the game work.

If I reinstall the whole game, I get 1 shot at the menu. Same as you; if I close it, it’s gone for good and all shortcuts stop working. I tried setting “no game setting changes” so that Vorpx would leave the game settings alone, but that does not help. Further more, G3D is just gone, not an option anymore regardless of what I do. After that, if I restart the game (after its crashed, either we’re back to the start of this paragraph or WORST: the game instantly crashed when putting on my headset or clicking on the window to bring it to the front.

I just can’t use Vorpx anymore with the game. Please remove official support from Dirt 2 and 3 or give us another way of making our own profiles. Hell, I would take Z3D at this point…

Not going to be super helpful, because I have not played it in about a year, but I used Steam controller features to make my DS4 controller do pretty much everything I needed. I never used/tried the Vorpx controller settings – tho I might with the new motion system :D

How is it? I’m having a tonne of fun with Burnout Paradise Remastered in Z3D (with G29 wheel) and got my eye on this NFS game or Most Wanted to play next.

Much appreciated, happy to learn more about the how it all works. I guess this game will just have to run poorly on my rig then, no setting seems to help keep a stable fps. Going back and forth from 90 to 45 isn’t great and it’s immersion-breaking. Oh well!

For everything else I play, Vorpx is the bomb! Keep up the great work :D

Thanks for the input. I know we can’t map everything and played around with options. I clearly see what you mean. Thankfully I found something that works out quite well for my playstyle.

My concern is that it seems impossible to make a new profile. The official one seems hit or miss for me, for some reason, so I would love to try a different one. It’s about performance, not the controls :/

I mean, it’s the first game where I can run it smooth on my screen, but even with no3D/immersive screen in vorpx it seems to skip a tonne of frames – and that’s then the freezes are not the problem. I don’t understand how a stable 100+ fps can drop to below 90 (so Oculus switches to 45 I think) if there is no 3D. Is that normal? Is even just immersive screen kinda “costly”?

Thanks. I believe I am using the correct command line to launch the game in dx9, but I will try more dx11 profiles too.

UPDATE: After trying about 30 profiles, I have found a few game profiles that offer the Vorpx option for geometry to the Burnout exe, but the only affects some shaders (not the actual 3D world but rather just the particle effects, lights or skybox).

Does this mean that the game can actually offer some G3D? It would look like it to me. But then, how to I tell Vorpx what world elements to apply the depth effect to?

    – Again, the original game works great in G3D. I feel like I’m so close for the remaster, but besides trying 1000+ profiles and hoping one does the trick, is there anything I can do at this point?

    – Does this “proove” that an official profile could be made by Ralf, or a talented profile maker out there?

    Any help would be appreciated!
