Not OP but I tried out tomb raider 2013 and it definitely had this issue with shadows and it was with the default profile.

There seems to be some judder with recent SteamVR versions (probably since Motion Smoothing was introduced) at default settings.

For the time being being please make sure to set “Fluid Sync” to “On” on the display page of the vorpX menu. That will cap the game fps to 45, but in turn make it easier to keep the headset FPS at 90fps. With steady 90fps for the headset rendering the judder should be gone.

You can check the FPS values with ALT+F, should read 45/90 ideally with Fluid Sync on.

An update that addresses this issue one way or the other will follow as soon as possible.

Hey ralf, I tried playing a game with G3D and with fluidsync on it didn’t feel like a smooth 90 fps, more like 45 fps.

Ok thanks for the reply. So should fluidsync not feel like 90 fps but feel like 45 fps? it definitely doesn’t feel smooth like 90 fps, this is with me trying it on and off along with using “alt-f” to see the reading. It says 45 fps/90 fps but when i turn off fluidsync it feels smoother but of course the fps still drops to 50s which isn’t good.

another issue is the fluid sync doesn’t seem to make the game any smoother. With it on the game feels like 30 fps not 90.

No i haven’t i will though, I was just wondering if this was normal; I’m assuming this wouldn’t be an issue with the built in 3D support.
