It’s there, but it’s barely noticeable. I, for example, can tell the difference between foreground and background, but other than that it’s all Paper Mario for me. Try Tridef instead, it’s much more immersive and I’m also curious whether my workaround works for others.

However, I doubt I ever use this profile again. I read that one can play Tridef injected games with vorpX Desktop Viewer. I’ll try that with SWTOR later.

Dragon’s Dogma – Dark Arisen. In the settings, after pressing DEL, there is 3D reconstruction section. There you can choose between options off, z-normal and z-adaptive (Z3D), and geometry (G3D). Only z-normal (kinda) works, but it’s not good enough.

Initially I got the problem that it didn’t launch with Tridef, but it seems that I actually solved it today. Here’s what I did. I don’t know if there are any unnecessary steps, but it works for me. I would try to simplify it but I don’t have time to check what’s important, so I’m sorry if it’s too much detail.

    1. I add 2 games in Tridef. One is SWTOR (with SWTOR profile and the executable …Star Wars – The Old Republic\swtor\retailclient\swtor.exe) and another is a random game. In my case it is L4D2 (I picked a desktop shortcut made by Steam client, so the executable is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe and command line argument is steam://rungameid/550).

    2. I launch L4D2 with L4D2 profile from Tridef. After I got to the main menu in SBS, I exit the game and change its profile to SWTOR.

    3. Finally, I launch SWTOR launcher from Steam (not from Tridef), login and it loads with Tridef and SWTOR profile.

I have no idea how or why it works, but it doesn’t without the middle step. I guess Tridef picks the previous game and its profile because when I didn’t change the profile of L4D2 it loaded SWTOR in SBS with L4D2 profile.

Didn’t play much SWTOR with Tridef, but so far I didn’t notice any other problems.

But, IMO, the only good solution now is Tridef with Virtual Desktop. Looks better than Z3D in vorpX.

HelixVision turned out to be incompatible with SWTOR due to the impossibility of starting swtor.exe directly, bypassing the launcher. Ended up using Tridef with Virtual Desktop and I’m happy with the result. Looks so much better!

    Thanks again.

I tried Mass Effect 3 profile and the result was the same. I also have troubles distinguishing between real 3D and “flat” 3D. Everything seems to be a real one for me. So, I have a paranoia: what if I’m delusional and something I believe is 3D is in reality 2D. But thank you for confirming Z3D working! Although I might try to get HelixVision working (to compare with vorpX and just because I love tinkering), with vorpX I’m calling it a day.

Okay, Z3D (z-normal) is working on Dragon’s Dogma profile.

On the second thought, now I’m not sure whether it’s really in 3D. I checked all 3D reconstruction options (off, Z3D and G3D) and only Z3D (normal) seems to make a difference.

Although now I’m not sure whether it’s really in 3D, but at least it hooks.

Guys, try Dragon’s Dogma profile. It worked for me.

Previous topics on this forum indicated that vorpX won’t hook (i.e., this one https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/swtor-star-wars-the-old-republic-ea-mmo/). Someone claimed that the game once worked with Elder Scrolls Online profile (both games use the same HeroEngine). I tried that profile and no luck.

That’s why I dismissed vorpX at the beginning. And it did seem to me that vorpX just hooked the game, which was in anaglyph mode due to HelixVision. Regardless, I tried Dragon’s Dogma profile and it worked like a charm. I got both Z3D and G3D. Thanks for your help!
