Couldn’t get the fov setting to work either but the extended camera settings mod was able to adjust the fov.
sponge101ParticipantSuccess!!! The solution was so obvious–set the game to full screen mode. Thanks for everyone’s assistance.

Sorry to bother you but I am having a problem with GTA 5 not looking clear in my HMD (Index).For the past few days, I’ve been trying to change the resolution of the game but no matter what I try the image in the HMD is always on the low side. I have a 2080 ti and 6700k oc so my system should be able to handle it.
Some of the things I tried include:
-adding custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel
-running gta without vorpx, changing the res, save, quit, restart (without vorpx active), checking the main menu of “graphics” is showing the correct res. Launch the game with vorpx (without vorpx game changes active) and checking to make sure the res is correct–it is.
-making a launch option in the gta steam option with the specific resolution (-w 3200 -h 2400)
-changing my desktop resolution to the same one as in gta 5 (3200 x 2400 on a 1080p tv) before launching the game–this did work in the past.
-obviously, letting vorpx setting of “change game resolution” to “”on” and letting it do everything.
-looking at the settings xml gta file to see if the resolution should be 3200 x 2400
-other things as well.
This is a fresh install of gta. Any support or suggestion would be great. Thanks.
sponge101Participant@Ralf I sent an email to support three days ago asking for a download link to Vorpx because I had to uninstall because every time I tried to use it it would just keep downloading. There have been no response yet. May I ask for your help. Thank you. The email starts with “Sponge”.
sponge101ParticipantYep, it’s the Rift. Settings are all max except shadow quality is set to normal for performance. MSAA off because heard it affects 3D. Windowed-mode; Aspect ratio: 4.3. Flawless Widescreen tool is a must! Correction: for some reason GTA 5 and Vorpx are rendering at 2554×2020–close enough. Things are just so less blurry!
My spec: 6700k@4.5ghz, Seahawk 1080oc@2.1ghz, Asus Z170a, Corsair DDR4 2400MHz Cas 10, 950 and 850 SSDs.
sponge101Participant@lipplog. Thanks for your reply. That’s one option but the workaround I did was not only create the custom resolution in Nvidia, but then to also apply it. Before I didn’t have to do this because Vorpx would recognize the res change automatically.
I pushed it harder by going with 2560×2048–That’s way beyond what Ralf recommends for this game and I had to turn down some things, but man does it look good. I can’t go back to lower res again.
sponge101ParticipantHelp! Vorpx no longer render at 2048×1536 for GTA 5. Could this have been taken away?
sponge101ParticipantHas anyone managed to hit 2560×2048-5:4? My t.v. is only 1080p so I’ve been trying the Nvidia and CRU tool but can’t get past 2048×1536. I even tried editing the Rockstar setting.xml file but no luck. Things would look so clear at this res.
sponge101ParticipantThe highest I could go is 2048×1536 while maintaining that 4:3. Tried 3200×2400-4:3 and 2560×2048-5:4, but they didn’t show in the setting (wish I could increase resolution even further). Also tried inputing 2 in the Oculus pixel density tool and I think there’s a difference but not sure to be honest.
As long as I can maintain reasonable fps I would gladly increase resolution with tradeoff in performance. Though the 6700koc and 1080oc are holding up very well. Only when I’m doing something crazy is there a noticeable temporary stutter.
Aug 14, 2016 at 12:41pm in reply to: GTAV-R HUD – A Modified GTA V UI & Minimap with optimized text for DK2 usage. #110211sponge101Participant@CylonSurfer. Thank you so much! This mod is amazing–it’s made things so much easier. No offense to the peek feature, but after the 100th time it gets intrusive to the gameplay real bad; not to mention it breaks immersion for me. Endorsed!
sponge101ParticipantTurning off Fraps or launch Vorpx, right-click its icon in the task bar, and creating a vorpx shortcut of the game’s exe. might work.
sponge101ParticipantThis didn’t work for me but worth a try.
NipOc:
“I found a fix for the buggy shadow, that appears around near objects in Geometry 3D (looks like black Z-3D artifacts).
You have to turn
bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=1
to
bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=0and the shadow is fixed.”
sponge101ParticipantFor me it made the textures on building and the ground freak out (opening scene). I’m using flawless widescreen. Could that be interfering with the fix?
sponge101ParticipantWas really disappointed when I found out G3D is missing from GTA V. Must be difficult, but really hoping it gets added.
