@bravekat: I also had this turning stutter, especially with the mouse or gamepad (NVIDIA RTX 3060, 5G wireless connection), and I also noticed that it gets better as FPS increases. But it never completely disappeared, no matter how low I set the settings, which makes the game unplayable in VR. Out of sheer frustration, I tried the VR mod from Luke Ross, but the graphics quality there is just bad, especially for distant objects. VorpX is significantly better, both visually and overall. I bought VorpX years ago and have always been happy with the VR experience. So I went back to VorpX and kept experimenting: In the end, what helped was using AMD FidelityFX 2.1, the older FSR version that you can select in CP 2077. Give it a try. No more turning stutter for me. :)
I was wrong. The turning stutter remains. :( Changed back to DLSS becuase the graphic is much better than FSR.

This fixed turning stutter with a gamepad for me:
-Set CP2077 game Settings>Controls>First-Person Camera(Controller)>Horizontal Sensitivity to ‘9’ to avoid turning too fast. Alternatively, can set to higher number like ’40’ for simulated snap turning.
-Set vorpX setting ‘Headset Sync’ to ‘Custom’. (Press DELETE key to access vorpX settings)
-Set vorpX setting ‘Sync Method’ to ‘Safe’.
-Set vorpX setting ‘Headset Multithreading’ to ‘Off’. (Most Important and makes the biggest improvement)
-Set vorpX setting ‘Cap Framerate’ to ‘Off’. (Seems like the better the FPS the overall less turning stutter)
-Set HMD setting to highest refresh rate possible, its 144hz for me. (I’m running at 60-90 FPS, but seems to make a difference)
I’m using stand alone CP2077 2.21 vorpX app and run Intel i7-9700k CPU, Nvidia 3080ti GPU, Valve Index HMD. Last time I played CP2077 in vorpX was March 2024 and did not experience turning stutter.
VorpX CP2077 app is a fantastic experience. Big thanks!
Really amazing how good Cyberpunk 2077 looks in VR with this free(!) mod.
I have a 3090/5800x3d/Pimax Crystal and if i check with fpsvr my CPU is limited to below 50fps? So my CPU seems to be the bottleneck? Also i get the stutters when turning with the controllers, just read that i have to check the fps ingame with ctr-F and watch the second number – will do that tomorrow.
Question: does an upgrade to a faster CPU like a 9800x3d eliminate the CPU bottleneck?
What CPU Performance do you guys with a faster CPU like an 7800x3d have? I do want to stick with my am4 platform as long as possible, but if this game forces me to upgrade…
BTW., i have the vorpx quality settings at max, ingame most at med/high, no rt, dlss4 performance. Vorpx framerate cap at 50% and headset at 90Hz. Somehow the ingame aspect ratio is 16/9, so many pixel wasted. Should i set the i game resolution to a 4:3 one?
I really want that CPU limit gone and a smooth controller turning! Should i try to run via OpenXR and use Pimax eyetracking with quadview rendering to gain a few fps? Does it even work with vorpX DirectVR?
So much tinkering possible…but the result is breathtaking! Thank you Ralf!
Hello,
Wanted to ask if Mod Manager would be supported as to allow VorpX to correctly hook Cyberpunk 2077 of it being launched by Mod Manager. I have added a lot of mods and additional jobs/missions and would like to utilize VorpX with Mod Manager and Cyberpunk if at all possible.
I don’t know if there is another game with CryEngine DX12.
There probably will be a profile someday.
You can try other DX12 games : Cyberpunk 2077, Frontier Of Pandora / Resident Evil Village, Atomic Heart, etc. but it’s not CryEngine.
Can anyone tell me what vorpx version I should be running to get a good 3d effect for cyberpunk. I’m really trying to weigh my options with trying to get the most out of CyberPunk 2077 in VR. I’ve tried luke ross and it can be choppy in some areas. When I say which vorpx version, should I be using the free version(the free download for cyberpunk) or my paid version of the Vorpx app? Does one offer 3D over the other or is it still going to look flat regardless of version?

A new update is available that includes the Cyber Engine Tweaks modding framework for CP2077 2.21. No other changes.
i spent 4 hours trying everything on my desktop PC and couldn’t figure out why CP2077 kept crashing. i spent all day on my laptop with a clean windows 11 install, fresh download of the game, same issue, crashing.
found this post, turned off DLSS on my laptop, and game launched without crashing. now i need to see if i can do the same to get it working on my desktop as my laptop doesn’t have enough in it to push more than 32fps on the mobile RTX4080 on nicer mode.
please do include front popping disclaimer stating DLSS causes VorpX and CP2077 to crash.

A new update is available. Download link as always in the first post of this thread.
- Cyber Engine Tweaks modding framework updated for CP2077 2.2.
- HUD shaders fixed for CP2077 2.2.
- vorpX backend updated to latest version. Among general stability and performance improvenments this also finally fixes the ocassionally unavailable motion controller gestures after launching the game.
Forgot to mention that this is probably the mirror issue with CP2077 since it comes right after the character creator (and also later in game)?
I am running Cyberpunk 2077 v2.13 and it is crashing as soon as the game launches.
I am getting a popup saying that the mod was built for 2.12 and doesn’t support 2.13.
Will there be an update to resolve this?
Hello,
whenever I’m using standalone or general version of VorpX, I have the same problem. Game opens fine, I have everything working in VR. But as soon as I click on the game to make game focused game will crash in an instant or in a minute. If I happen to run game in the background then I’m able to enter into game and actually play (with gamepad) but there is a problem with aiming for example.
Game crashes on main menu as well as loading screen or in game, as soon as I bring focus to Cyberpunk 2077 window.
Antivirus was turned off, all the overlays and other programs that may interupt as well. VorpX is working for me on older game like Bioshock DX9.
What should I do?
First off many many thanks,
The running in the foreground issue was something I had considered, though not exactly sure of the cause and effect. Though frustrated , I’m also amused right now because it did this as after I did the CET update and Microsoft framework update as well. I figured I didnt know what I was doing, reinstalling, rereading one word at a time and making sure I didnt misinterpret or miss anything. In essence it was probably good to go, just perpetuating this weird issue – but I am still incredibly grateful for your standalone update as it allows for me to narrow things down…. and you make good software :)
As far as clicking on the window , Im assuming you mean- the game on the actual desktop , to ensure Cp2077 is in the foreground. Will look into this as well.
Im fanatical about expunging bloatware, and do not over AV my system like at all, but one detail you mentioned caught my attention. I had programmed a steering wheel/pedal setup to work with the game while driving. And I am going to look into this today-Though its not being used at the moment (to simplify troubleshooting) Basically a driver and x360ce which at this moment im targeting as potential suspects.
Though my issue is probably one in a million, if I find out a solution I will post on the off chance someone else struck by a unicorn as well.
Thanks again,
TJP

What I’m working with:
QUEST 3, i9, 32gRam, 4070 RTX
– COPY of Updated Vorpx CYBERPUNK Standalone mod dated SEPT 2024
– Copy of CYBERPUNK 2077 2.13 + Phantom Liberty
Everyone remembers what happened the dreadful week of the the infamous 2.13 update drop.
Many solutions were sought. Many things wouldn’t work no matter how closely defined my actions were to the instructions concerning CET and the like.
I was ecstatic that Ralf powered by Vorpx, or rather Vorpx powered by Ralf – was quick to update the stand alone mod and link. In my neck of the woods internet is non existent so after installing and and reinstalling with fixes in different combinations and orders it took forever each time I got exhausted – you have no idea how slow of a connection lol
I looked forward to downloading CP2077 what I thought would be the final time and began to install the new updated standalone {all smiles}.
Unfortunately I was stuck in the game waiting room , with the same message of “my version of cyberpunk being newer” ..etc etc. Realizing it could be a false message (see above if it linked properly) I sought to continue : However I noticed that I wasn’t able to use either the keyboard or Quest 3 controllers to continue. I was able to use the grips to use the vorpx configuration menu ( open and close the menu) – that was it. I changed a few settings in vorpx menu – gamepad back to keyboard etc – Mouse was only working in vorpx menu. upon closing the menu AND after the opening intro movie I would get a message saying {!} CONTROLLER DISCONNECTED Please Reconnect controller. No controller buttons or keyboard would work (other image if posted correctly)- I Never post to Forums, as most threads seem a spiral into condescension to the poster -Among other things Im embarrassed I cant figure this out – and reading comments on videos expressing that it worked first try no fuss no muss – Im pulling out what 3 hairs I have left on my head. Ive tried everything – I, in my heart think its got to be something I’ve overlooked, or accidental setting change.
**Headset selection on The –CyberpunkVR config link — oculus headsets , rift , Quest via Oculus link is selected** (I’ve always used questlink for this game with unfailing great results)
If anyone can Help, I would owe you my soul.
Thanks in advance,
TJP
