KeymasterThere is an option on the DirectVR page of the menu that lets you disable looking up/down only with the headset.
Not recommendend though. Really. Not. Pretty much every VR game ever made only allows looking up/down with your head and not with a gamepad/controller to ensure that your real world horizon and the VR horizon always match. When both do not match playing in VR can become pretty uncomfortable.

ParticipantOops, that’s not it, but thank you for the quick reply.

This is what I see when looking straight while sitting down. The crosshair and UI are angled high. To compensate and so my view is at ‘normal eye level’, I have to look down, but the weird angle is nauseating…

A new update is available that includes the Cyber Engine Tweaks modding framework for CP2077 2.21. No other changes.

ParticipantCan anyone tell me what vorpx version I should be running to get a good 3d effect for cyberpunk. I’m really trying to weigh my options with trying to get the most out of CyberPunk 2077 in VR. I’ve tried luke ross and it can be choppy in some areas. When I say which vorpx version, should I be using the free version(the free download for cyberpunk) or my paid version of the Vorpx app? Does one offer 3D over the other or is it still going to look flat regardless of version?

ParticipantReally amazing how good Cyberpunk 2077 looks in VR with this free(!) mod.
I have a 3090/5800x3d/Pimax Crystal and if i check with fpsvr my CPU is limited to below 50fps? So my CPU seems to be the bottleneck? Also i get the stutters when turning with the controllers, just read that i have to check the fps ingame with ctr-F and watch the second number – will do that tomorrow.
Question: does an upgrade to a faster CPU like a 9800x3d eliminate the CPU bottleneck?
What CPU Performance do you guys with a faster CPU like an 7800x3d have? I do want to stick with my am4 platform as long as possible, but if this game forces me to upgrade…BTW., i have the vorpx quality settings at max, ingame most at med/high, no rt, dlss4 performance. Vorpx framerate cap at 50% and headset at 90Hz. Somehow the ingame aspect ratio is 16/9, so many pixel wasted. Should i set the i game resolution to a 4:3 one?
I really want that CPU limit gone and a smooth controller turning! Should i try to run via OpenXR and use Pimax eyetracking with quadview rendering to gain a few fps? Does it even work with vorpX DirectVR?
So much tinkering possible…but the result is breathtaking! Thank you Ralf!

ParticipantA follow-up to my above post:
It is actually alt-f to show the fps from Game/Headset in the top left corner. My fault 😂
I learned that because of alternative rendering the fps is always max. half of the refresh. So no wonder I was having max. 37/45 fps with 75/90 Hz of headset refresh. I am now at 120 and fps is almost steady 60 (lowered the graphics setting ingame to get there).
Still fpsVR reports terrible cpu performance but at least much better than before (was 40ish with 35% CPU demand). Now almost always 60 with 80% CPU utilization.
I think no new CPU needed, but let’s see… 🤪Turning smoothness is also much better than before, still not as smooth as turning my head only.
Overall a much better experience!
Now, I need a 5090. I will wait until they are in stock and prices go back to normal 🤪 – crazy days!Feb 24, 2025 at 6:23pm #221170bravekat
ParticipantThis fixed turning stutter with a gamepad for me:
-Set CP2077 game Settings>Controls>First-Person Camera(Controller)>Horizontal Sensitivity to ‘9’ to avoid turning too fast. Alternatively, can set to higher number like ’40’ for simulated snap turning.
-Set vorpX setting ‘Headset Sync’ to ‘Custom’. (Press DELETE key to access vorpX settings)
-Set vorpX setting ‘Sync Method’ to ‘Safe’.
-Set vorpX setting ‘Headset Multithreading’ to ‘Off’. (Most Important and makes the biggest improvement)
-Set vorpX setting ‘Cap Framerate’ to ‘Off’. (Seems like the better the FPS the overall less turning stutter)
-Set HMD setting to highest refresh rate possible, its 144hz for me. (I’m running at 60-90 FPS, but seems to make a difference)I’m using stand alone CP2077 2.21 vorpX app and run Intel i7-9700k CPU, Nvidia 3080ti GPU, Valve Index HMD. Last time I played CP2077 in vorpX was March 2024 and did not experience turning stutter.
VorpX CP2077 app is a fantastic experience. Big thanks!

ParticipantHi Ralf,
Its been quite awhile since this was released and these features available to Cyberpunk are still not available in any new stable release. I have tried the latest beta version of Vorpx and Cyberpunk is done really well, but its not stable on my PC, keeps intermittently restarting or crashing. The stable version does not give me the same issues but playing Cyberpunk using that clearly has some significant drawbacks. Do you have any indication when a new stable version of Vorpx will be released with all the goodness of the beta minus the instability.
Thanks,
regards,Johnny

Participant@bravekat: I also had this turning stutter, especially with the mouse or gamepad (NVIDIA RTX 3060, 5G wireless connection), and I also noticed that it gets better as FPS increases. But it never completely disappeared, no matter how low I set the settings, which makes the game unplayable in VR. Out of sheer frustration, I tried the VR mod from Luke Ross, but the graphics quality there is just bad, especially for distant objects. VorpX is significantly better, both visually and overall. I bought VorpX years ago and have always been happy with the VR experience. So I went back to VorpX and kept experimenting: In the end, what helped was using AMD FidelityFX 2.1, the older FSR version that you can select in CP 2077. Give it a try. No more turning stutter for me. :)

I was wrong. The turning stutter remains. :( Changed back to DLSS becuase the graphic is much better than FSR.

ParticipantI think I’ve found an acceptable solution: As bravekat already wrote, set ‘Headset Sync’ to ‘Custom,’ ‘Sync Method’ to ‘Safe,’ and ‘Headset Multithreading’ to ‘Off.’ Then, most importantly, disable TAA and Bloom via INI, especially TAA, I believe. This makes everything look a bit blurry, so set DLSS to automatic and max out the sharpness to 1.
In VorpX, additionally enable Immersive Screen Mode and set quality to Nice or Nicer, but not higher. With my GTX 3060 and Quest 2, I can get somewhat smooth performance this way.
Oh, and only use ONE monitor!
@Ralf: I think this post and my earlier ones belong more in the Technical Support section. Sorry! Maybe you can move them there.
And: VorpX is just awesome! I’ve been enjoying it for years. THANK YOU! :)

ParticipantI love the gesture controls from Vorpx in Cyberpunk but the Steering in Cars is pretty hard to use for me….
I bought the full version of vorpx a long time ago but Cyberpunk i use the standalone Mod for the gesture feature but my Problem is when i try to Steer the car The steering wheel can only be turned fully or nothing at all, which means it is almost absolutely impossible to steer with any degree of precision.
The Steeringwheel icon appears and followes almost exact the motion from my Oculus Controllers, but the Steeringwheel from my car is only move to full right, straight or full left…
Is there something i make wrong here, or is this just the limitation of the gesture controls?Mar 15, 2025 at 10:12pm #221231Ralf
KeymasterPlease reinstall the mod to ensure that all settings are set to their defaults. Also reset your Cyberpunk input settings to default. Per default the steering gestures work like analog sticks on a gamepad.

Just to be sure…
Should the control settings set to KB/Mouse or to Gamepad in the VORPX Menü?
When i use the KB/Mouse option are the Steering Analog or Digital?
I tryed both but the results are the same for me…
Next step i try to reinstall like you said.
And thx for your fast response! -
