    Currently,I have problems with 3d z buffer(z Normal/z-adaptative)in two games,
these games are far cry 4 and Battlefield 4.
Far Cry 4 certainly shows no 3d for me,never.
Battlefield 4 produces a flicker every few seconds or interference, causing loss of 3d,even vorpx ingame menu.
These errors are reported, but we are waiting for some solution.

On the Metro titles, the situation for me is:
    Metro 2033 standard version:
    3D Geometry in dx9 (Yes) 3D Geometry in DX11(No)
    3D Z-normal/adaptative DX9(Yes) 3D Z-normal/adaptative in DX11(Yes)

    Metro Last Light standard(complete edition):
Geometry in DX9(No) Geometry in DX11(No)Also causes blackscreen in DX9(vorpx)
    3d Z-Normal/adaptative in DX9(No) DX11(Yes)
This tittle, clearly need revision to vorpx geometry.

    Metro 2033 redux:
Geometry in DX9(No) Geometry in DX11(No)
    3D Z-normal/adaptative in DX9(Yes) 3D Z-normal/adaptative in DX11(Yes)

    Metro Last Light redux:
    3D Geometry in DX11(No)
    3D Z-Normal/adaptative in DX11(Yes)

    All tested on i7 3770K oc4,2 and NVIDIA GTX 980 g1 gaming,oculus rift dk2,
    Windows 8.1

There are already DX11 games with Geometry 3D. For example Battlefield 3, Bioshock Infinite, Deus Ex HR, F1 2013, F2014 and a few more. More will be added, but this will not be possible for everything.

Exactly, grumdark, I remembered that I initially applied Battlefield 4 settings in vorpX’s Games Settings Optimizer after I started playing again but unfortunately I didn’t see any edit option to modify my post, thank you for pointing that out, it’s very useful in order to have visible HUD in VR.

Also, you are right about the MSAA filter, I had it disabled from the start so I didn’t know that. As for black smear I didn’t see any difference whether it was on or off, it may be useful for some.

I use a very similar configuration, also often use options flawless widescreen program,to improve some games.

Add before step 1,apply corresponding entry Battlefield 4 in optimizer game setting in vorpx(external config)this fixes HUD during the campaign to represent correctly.
    Enable black smear:On
I would also add another second point,NEVER APPLY MSAA filter in 3d z buffer, because it causes the loss of 3d z-modes.

For anyone trying to play the BF4 campaign with vorpX, in order to reduce the “zoomed in” effect, do this:

    1. Install and run Flawless Widescreen (64bit), set path, select Battlefield 4 from the list and turn the slider all the way to the right (higher)
    2. Launch BF4 (64bit), load a mission, presc Esc and press Del to access vorpX menu
    3. Select page 2 (display) and set Aspect Ratio to Letterbox 1, 2D FOV Enhancement to 1 and Image Zoom to 0.90 (any less then this and you will see screen borders, thus breaking the VR immersion)
    4. Enjoy a playable BF4 VR experience ;)

The “zoomed in” effect is still there but far less visible, middle range and distant objects appear just fine, only close objects seem zoomed. Oh, and don’t bother using BF4’s in-game FOV sliders from video options, those work only for multiplayer, no effect for campaign mode.

This solution is also applicable to other vorpX compatible games that suffer from limited FOV. They only need to be detected by Flawless Widescreen.

For testing purposes i can tell that Battlefield 4 is running on 64Bit and its working fine. But i dont get the Error discussed. GTA 5 HT is working fine here, just to make it clear.

If you dont use the original Executable of GTA 5 , dont ask any further questions please , because a modified version of the Executable may produce the error because VorpX cant hook in , and thats not what Ralf is working on , so dont blame yourselves and just answer if you can assure using the original Games Executable and having that discussed Error, otherwise we are not getting anywhere !

Unfortunately the issue is still not reproducible here on any machine, so I need your help for some more testing:

Could everyone with this issue and a legit copy of GTA V please check whether other 64bit games show the same symptoms? One of the current theories is that this may be an issue with the 64bit part of the Oculus runtime installation on your machines. If that is the case, 32bit games would work normally, but 64bit games (like GTA V) wouldn’t.

Most games are still 32bit, most popular examples of 64bit games are: Battlefield 4 (if not set to 32bit), Battlefield Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

I just bought VorpX and was trying out BF4.
It hookes ok but the view is unbearable. I can not focus on anything.

My DK2 setup works fine and so is my IPD. I play Elite Dangerous with it all the time.
When i open the in game menu with DEL I see some values but when i change them there is no visible effect. I suspect that I have to change something there.
If I check the position of the dot of my sight there is about a centimeter between the left and right image. The FOV looks of as well while I have set it to the suggested 120.

When i exit the menu it will not come back anymore after hitting DEL. I have to restart the game in that case.

Please give me some suggestions how i can get this working.

Every 10 seconds the screen enlarges and then goes back to normal. Everything else works as it should. Oculus is directly connected to the pc. I’ve also used BF4 32 bit and 64 bit. Need help please.

    Thank you

    Hey folks,

got vorpX for several days now and so far… it fucked up every single game I tried with it.

Alien: Isolation for instance. When I’m playing it without vorpx everything seems to be fine (everything but the hud is way too small and too close to the edges). When vorpX hooks in I’ve got one tiny picture in the upper right corner of the right eye and another tiny picture in the upper left corner of the left eye. Both pictures seem to be seperated in their basic colors (RGB).

    Screenshot: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=393605133
First thing I noticed here: The screenshot as an strange resolution (2364*1226). By the way, when I start the game without vorpx the resolution is set to 1080p… No chance for me to change the resolution here?!

    What I did:
    – I edited the XML File to enable the Rift support
    – I paused the Oculus service
-> Starting the game, everything fine
-> When I try the same thing with vorpx running (tried pausing and not pausing the oculus service) it get messed up

Second thing: I tried Battlefield 4 but that just won’t work either. But in a different way. I think there is something broken with the 3d stereo view since I can’t open both eyes. I literally can’t focus on the vorpx menu or the game itself. Opening both eyes feels like having crossed eyes if you get what I mean. vorpx is actually hooking in and it’s starting on the correct monitor (the rift…) by the way.

I’m really frustrated since everything seems to work without vorpx and not a single game with vorpx, wasted money or am I just doing something wrong? Any tips?

    Hi everyone,
i hope i can explain my problem good enough for you to understand..:)

i bought vorpx and Battlefield 4 is the first game i am trying to get to work.
i didn´t have any issues with starting the game itself and it seems to work without any problems if i use mouse and keyboard.

but as soon as i plug in a xbox 360 controller (of course before i start the game) and try to look around (with the right stick) the view “jumps” (please excuse this description, it´s just because of my lack of english knowledge^^).

Everything works fine without the gamepad.

i also tried to use the “handle gamepunkt internally” option and so on but i didn´t have any successn with that.

i also attached a video to show you what i mean.

I hope someone can help me..
    thanks in advance.

Battlefield 4 can be a bit finnicky, you might have to try a few times. Please also try the things below:

    1. Disable the in-game overlay in Origin.
    2. Switch from the 64bit to the 32bit version of BF4 or vice versa. Maybe one works better for you.
    3. Go to offline mode in Origin. This circumvents Battlelog and might help with vorpX. However, you will loose online gaming, so do this as a last resort only.

I have done all 3 of those things and it still doesn’t work. :(

I managed to get it running, but with no 3D.

    1. Create a copy of the DragonAgeInquisition.exe and DragonAgeInquisition.par
    2. Rename DragonAgeInquisition.exe to Battlefield4.exe
    3. Rename DragonAgeInquisition.par to Battlefield4.par
    4. Set the Oculus Rift to extended mode as primary display

I would like a list of games exe’s with geometry 3D support, preferably by engine type, this is because I am trying to run battlefield 4 and I can’t change my FOV, if I could find another game exe to rename my battlefeild 4 exe to I could maybe use the 3D FOV enchancer so i can play this game in the rift.

I found that renaming the exe to DXHRDC (deux ex, human revolution, Directors cut) allows me to do geometry 3D, but no 3D fov enhancement.
