OS: Windows 10 latest with ESU
AMD driver: 25.10.3 – 25.12.1
GPU: XFX RX 6900XT (Both OC and non OC tested)
CPU: 9800X3D
RAM: 32GB DDR5-6000
Module: SteamVR – OpenXR
Headset: PS/VR2 with PC adapter – Displayport connection.
VorpX: 25.1.2
I’ve noticed that the app is constantly crashing when using VorpX on any game. Tested Fallout 4, Cyberpunk, Stalker Anomaly, Left 4 Dead 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Factorio, 15+ others.
The Virtual desktop starts fine and works fine(usually, sometimes VorPX will attempt to hook vorpDesktop and timeout), until the moment I try to actually play a game. Game will usually start, but inevitably crash after less than 5 minutes. SteamVR reports ‘ IPC Namespace Unavailable ‘ and AMD driver reports that the driver has crashed. Notably, the driver crashes to the Virtual Desktop and in rare cases, crashes out of the VR experience outright.
This happens only with VorpX. SteamVR home works fine, mods for Cyberpunk like RealVR work great, so it’s a very specific VorpX problem with the headset.
Effectively this appears to make the software completely unusable under Windows 10 at this moment.
Hope this helps you ascertain the issue Ralf. I can provide additional info and tests if you need them, to hopefully help you get some more customers for the software.
Thanks for your instructions, it works. But I have a problem changing the FOV in the game. It works with Cheat Engine (https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?t=23214), but only on the Dead Space.exe game file, not on the modified Dead Space 1.exe file. Any advice on how to change the FOV? Thanks.
@Ralf
Regarding issues with non functional input. If I keep old version of vorpControl64.dat, then issues do not happen. Maybe there is another combination of files, didn’t test more.
The same problem happens in A Hat in Time. Reinstalling Vorpx via web setup multiple times – no difference. Even Vorpx own ctrl+alt+shift popup message ignores keyboard in A Hat in Time game. The only thing suspicious to me is when first time after long break started Vorpx and it initiated an update, at some stage of installation terminated it manually because was busy with other pc tasks. Still, that don’t explain why problem remains after executing web setup later, after reboot as well. As mentioned earlier, in the SpaceEngine some actions do work in certain moments, like game first popup warning with Esc button to hide it fails, then main menu works for cursor and mouse buttons both, then in-game cursor works but mouse buttons and keyboard are dead. I know some of the last patch(es) of Win11 (I’m on Win10) have changes to GetAsyncKeyState, breaking some apps, maybe workaround was done on Vorpx and it do not works in my case.
I used to simply do that :
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/11xwfjy/change_the_exe_name_of_any_steam_game_very_useful/
In this case use this kind of launch option with Steam :
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Space Remake\DeadSpaceNewProfileName” %command%

For those who has Steam version.
1. Copy a new .exe file and rename like Dead Space 1.exe
2. Download SteamEdit
3. Change the launch profile with different .exe name from 1st step.
4. Click on Save & Apply & Restart. It affects to both SteamEdit and Steam
5. Run game. Verify on Task Manager that game is run with new name.
6. Create a new profile for vorpX game derived from Cyberpunk 2077 (because the game uses directx 12) and set the running process. Then you can rerun the game. vorpx should attach correctly.
7. For changing FOV you can you Chat Engine. You can find the profile from googling.
8. Get terrified.
On example for Dead Space game.

Rename deadspace.exe to deadspaxe1.exe
I hope we’ll get a profile one day, but i’m not holding my breath. Since i prefer the lighting of the remake, i’ll probably play it on flatscreen.
But i’m still waiting for the Dead Space 2 remake/remaster first – i usually play game series like these in a row, for peak immersion, and i think that the jump from Dead Space Remake to Dead Space 2 original would be pretty jarring GFX-wise.
You must use a dx12 profiles, cyberpunk2077 for exemple. For bypass the problem of file exe, you can rename deadspace.exe to deadspace1.exe than add the new exe on profile
having this issue with deadspace remake 2023 and cannot find a workaround
On top of which the game won’t let you run it with a different name.. instead it’ll download the exe with the correct name and launch that one as it seems to be part of an attempt to fix things if any of the files don’t match official version.
Is there a work around? Kind of sounds like no, which as much as I love the software.. I really don’t like. Some kind of way to hack around it?
I realize you don’t want to confuse people by making official profile not work but would be really nice if you could add another profile that matches official profile, then in official profile you just alert them that’s it’s being overwritten whether they look at it or in one of those messages that pop up when you launch game.
It made be done like this by design.. but sorry to say it.. it’s a bad design. Not the first time I’ve encountered this and simply not been able to use it with a program.
You must change deadspace.exe to deadspace1.exe e run with dx12 profile.
Confirmed the above – it seems to be conflicting with the existing native Dead Space.exe/profile (native vorpX profile).
Best,
Ben
