So i bought VorpX today and got it running, and it hooks fine on both monitors on every game – i tried with ARMA 2, 2:OA, 3, Outlast and GTA V, however instead of seeing an image i only see a very slight opening which is the extreme left of the left eye and the extreme right of the right eye, resulting in a small square of graphics at the center of the screen if i’m looking through a monitor, or a very very small line of picture on the Rift if you go crosseyed. I tweaked the options, and going for a smaller IPD and smaller scaling got me to see more of the image, but still no more than 1/10th of what i’m supposed to, while i get a completely black screen for 1x scaling and an IPD of more than 64mm, the same happens on my oculus profile. As a side note, the head tracking seems to go completely crazy on the mouse and the little of the picture i see is constantly spinning, unless i disable head tracking. Anyone had this problem? I tried wiping and reinstalling, having the tracker plugged and unplugged, disabled the steam overlay, but to no avail. As far as graphics goes, i have an AMD R9 280x. Anyone ever have this same problem? I’m not sure what to do.

Maybe i have a solution for those with doublescreen which also doesnt see the Vorpx menue inGame when you have set your DK2 as Primary and your LCD as secondary:

I had the same issues: Crashed after Update, Double Screen, No InGame Menü.

    Solved these for me with:

    1) Set DK2 into HMD Mode first. Started Flawless widescreen and GTA5 Plugin.

    2) Started “ConfigVorpx” without Admin Rights (normal double click)(First time i had the “crash report also”, second time worked for me) Restored all Games in TroubleShooting Menü and unchecked “Run as Admin in Config Menue”. Apply & Close.

    3) Vorpx wrote “you are currently running in HMD … etc”. Just left that Dialog and went to TaskManager where are killed the Vorpx Task. Both closed (32 … and the “non” 32 :D)

    4) Then i started it again with running as Admin (windowsAdmin right click run as admin..) and set my HMD to Extended (I´m Running DK2 as Primary in nvidia Systempanel, LCD as second) it worked in the background as usual (sry, German lang question following: @Ralf … StartVorpx läuft wohl automatisch an wenn man die Config startet ne? Is gut so, bloss nicht ändern :D Beim Ausführen direkt, also “startvorpx” stürzts mir immer ab :-/ ob mit oder ohne WinAdmin.

    5) Then i took on my DK2 and startet GTA5 directly as Admin from inside the Rift (Before i started it from the LCD and switched automaticlly into the DK2) Now i could see two Dialogs: First one was “Vorpx will not run correct with D3D9.DLL (have ReShade and SweetFX installed), just clicked on OK. Then another Dialog appeared but i can remember what it said. just clicked ok :D sorry :D

GTA5 starts normally and i saw the vorpx ingame menue for the first time :) Changed some settings like image zoom, but deactivated virtual cinema and set chromatic aboration fix on, image zoom for me at 0.67 – 0.70. Format: Letterbox1 was standard. i set it to 1:1 … looked better for me.

Ok. Well now, no crash, everythings fine. But: without Headrolling … its horrible :D Staring to the front and moving the mouse to look around is inside the Rift “german said”: SCHEISSE! XD” … but its playable and looks very good i think. Better than i thought. Would be nice if GTA5 has a direct Rift Support.

Sorry for my bad grammatic btw :)

Ralf? kann man das nicht implementieren? irgendwie? den Headroll mein ich :D

Did some performance analysis and it seems as it is CPU-related and it doesn’t just freeze the game, the whole computer freezed and task manager shows 100%.

This does not occur while playing without vorpx.

Is it maybe possible to limit GTA CPU usage?

Maybe it throttles VorpX and in turn locks the computer.

My CPU is a Intel Core I5-4670K 3,4 GHZ

The right stick can be fixed easily by using X360CE. Take a look at:

    http://ngemu.com/threads/gta-v-pc-and-x360ce-compatibility.170785/

The last page details some drivers you can use to separate the Z axis.

No need for new pads. Just use Xpadder or key2joy to map a virtual mouse to the right stick after disabling it in X360CE.

I just started using this program and it’s really cool. It’s the best I have found for getting steering wheels set up. I got an old xbox steering wheel from goodwill for $10 and now it’s back in action lol The only problem is that unless I clear out the game pad(controller #1) the steering wheel wont work(controller #2). But after clearing out the controller 1 spot the wheel works.

Anyone know how to get x360ce to handle multiple pads at once? I would like to add motorcycle bars along with the steering wheel and game pad.. and flight stick lol

I just recently started using this program and it’s really cool. It works great for setting up steering wheels and getting other things calibrated. I found a $10 Cobra TT steering wheel(original xbox usb adapter) and pedals and now it works great with x360ce!

The only problem is that if I have a game pad and my wheel hooked up and set up to run in x360ce only the pad works. Then if I disable the pad in x360ce the wheel works but then the pad doesn’t lol Anyone know how to get x360ce to handle multiple game pads at once?

    1. Disable the right stick using x360ce.
    2. Install the 360 pad driver on the last page.
    3. Use Xpadder or alike to bind a virtual mouse to your right stick
    4. Enjoy.

The FPS counter is resonably correct. How well head tracking works depends on how games handle the input data that vorpX sends. GTA V is a case where this works fairly well.

    General remark in this regard:

If a game has an entry in the Game Optimizer (vorpX config app), please apply the optimizer settings. In many cases vorpX can disable latency inducing game settings as far as possible. In Geometry 3D games you can also try the “G3D Latency Enhancement” parameter on the head tracking page of the ingame menu. 0.5 – 0.7 usually yields the best results.

I have the same problem. I think it´s because injectors cause some input lag.

    You could try

    – latency enhancement (in the vorpx menu)
    – calibrating the headtracking
    – calibrating 3d depth
    – setting the fov in the game optimizer (ingame for gta)

And also try to move your head slow and only when necessary.

This did not fix the lag problem completely, but I can play for an hour or more now.

Also, arma 3 and payday 2 work. It’s only GTA V that does not.

http://i.imgur.com/Vbb8d1n.jpg anything look out of the ordinary? i’ve remove the sweetfx folder and a sweetfx file, but i cant remember how the standard folder is meant to look like. bumping because im about done at the moment trying to solve this. Normally a patient man.

Just want to add that I am also having a hard time with the 360 controller/VorpX controller setup.

VorpX conflicts with the regular 360 functionality in many ways and setting up the gamepad emulator in VorpX is also a chaotic mess that doesnt work.

Hopefully this gets resolved because other than that GTA is by far the best experience Ive had with the Rift and the potential is incredible. Especially because aiming with the Rift brings all the advantages of mouse aim while still being able to use the controller like normal.

Besides all of that, VorpX is a great piece of software. I bought it for GTA alone and was nervous purchasing it but no regrets!

Hi and thanks for the replies!

Im not running VoprX in admin. mode now since i cant get gta to run in admin mode so thats a solved issue

The only VorpX related thing that i can find in my task manager is this.
VorpX VR Stereo Driver Control (32bit)

So im guessing that the 64bit component is not running?

Come on guys, we are not discussing about pirate Versions ! You should defintely go buy the game yourself, then install VorpX and then run then game , and if its not working , then repost on this forum.

I am sure that if there are any issues at the moment with the Game and VorpX hook-In for a couple of people, Ralf will do his best to solve it.

Uhm, i already bought it for 1. PS3 and 2. PS4. I would only buy the game for VR and i need to be sure that i dont get this error. I already bought vorpx only for GTA 5 yesterday…

We just need confirmation that the problem is because of pirated version. So please someone with the error: Buy it and write if it works with the original .exe, then i / we will buy the game too.

Unfortunately the issue is still not reproducible here on any machine, so I need your help for some more testing:

Could everyone with this issue and a legit copy of GTA V please check whether other 64bit games show the same symptoms? One of the current theories is that this may be an issue with the 64bit part of the Oculus runtime installation on your machines. If that is the case, 32bit games would work normally, but 64bit games (like GTA V) wouldn’t.

Most games are still 32bit, most popular examples of 64bit games are: Battlefield 4 (if not set to 32bit), Battlefield Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

    Thanks for your help.

Running as admin should not be necessary, but if you run vorpX as admin, you should also run GTA V as admin (and vice versa). vorpX ideally should run with the same rights that the game runs with.

Please also check whether you have a process called “vorpControl64.dat” in your task manager. It may be the case that the 32bit vorpX is running running (hence The Witcher hooks), but the 64bit part that is needed for GTA V is not. Knowing that would at least give a hint what to look for.
