Yes, same resolution in both cases (1400×1440), my actual monitor resolution is 4K.

    p.s.
I also described some other bugs in v25.1.2 topic, don’t know if you already saw them:

EdgePeek convergence / perspective switch bug (post number 222198)

OpenXR API virtual controllers 3D-model position bug (post number 222199)

OpenXR API Tracking prediction wobbling lag bug (post number 222200)

And another one (which I discovered yesterday)
OpenXR API bug in Hunted: The Demon’s Forge:
The game can’t be injected with OpenXR API, and injects correctly only with SteamVR API.

Also before i managed to make it work, many many times it refuses to inject even with SteamVR, and refuses to create alternative hook (error of extraction somewhat data error). After I changed game version, and after many many tries at last it gives me alternative hook (dll) which works now (I created a backup for that dll in case of any problems with other games in the future), but if I delete hook dll and try to create it, Vorpx refuses to create one again. I don’t know why.

It would be nice, if VorpX can suggest manual DirectX hook dll selection (for example as Reshade installer does).
It would be especially useful in case of games which user know should work correctly, but for some reason doesn’t hooked correctly. (Hunted has RjK G3D profile, it also confirmed on his profile database with his screenshots, so obviously it should work).
I know that it may be wrong (I saw other forum topic when you already discursed that earlier), but in situations when you tried many many times, but game don’t injecting, and hook doesn’t creates automatically it should be a alternate bypass route.

    p.p.s.
I also want to thank you for all your hard work, because despite some little bugs, VorpX works just flawless in such games as Outlast with FullVR/DirectVR mode, and in Hunted: The Demon’s Forge with FullVR G3D mode, providing real VR experience.

Is the game running at the same resolution in both cases?

I’m asking because a recent Windows 11 update seems to have broken vorpX’s fast capture method for (rare) 64-bit DX9 games (only Outlast and Crysis as far as supported games are concerned). At high resolutions that leads to a severe FPS drop. Might be the actual cause of your problem if you run the game with higher resolutions on the virtual monitor than on your actual monitor.

Unless MS changed something fundamental, I should be able to address that for the next maintenance update.

Yes, I tested it again, and it’s definitely related with VorpX Virtual Monitor status before the game launch.

If I first start VorpX Desktop Viewer and enable VorpX Virtual Monitor, and then launch a game with VorpX injection, the game suffers from severe FPS drops every few seconds (from a stable 80fps down to 70fps, and sometimes even to 35–45fps), along with flickering in the right eye, making it stuttery and unplayable — despite my PC having plenty of performance headroom.

However, if I launch the game with VorpX Desktop Viewer but with VorpX Virtual Monitor disabled, and let VorpX inject on game startup in the same way, performance is smooth and stable (e.g., ~80fps in Outlast).

Visually, the injection and startup look the same, but if VorpX Virtual Monitor was active before starting the game, the game will stutter.
If VorpX Virtual Monitor was disabled before game start, the game will run smoothly.

Hi, I encountered a strange behavior with VorpX Desktop Viewer + VorpX Virtual Monitor.

If I first start VorpX Desktop Viewer and enable VorpX Virtual Monitor, and then launch a game with VorpX injection (Outlast as an example), the game suffers from severe FPS drops every few seconds (from a stable 80fps down to 70fps, and sometimes even to 35–45fps), along with flickering in the right eye, making it stuttery and unplayable — despite my PC having plenty of performance headroom.

I also described more details in this topic:

Bug Report: Severe FPS drops when using VorpX Desktop Viewer

    Setup:
    Headset: Meta Quest 3
    PC: i5-11400f, rtx4070ti S, 16gb ram, Win11 24H2
    Streaming: Virtual Desktop VDXR
    Game Example: Outlast
    VorpX v25.1.2

    Issue:
When connected to my PC via VD and launching a game with VorpX injecting on startup, performance is smooth and stable (e.g., ~80fps in Outlast).

However, if I first start VorpX Desktop Viewer and then launch the game with VorpX injection, the game suffers from severe FPS drops every few seconds (down to 35–45fps), making it stuttery and unplayable.

    Expected:
Performance should remain the same regardless of whether VorpX Desktop Viewer is launched before the game or not.

    Hi,
After updating to VorpX v25.1.2 I encountered a strange image issue in Outlast when using VDXR.

The image is split into three parts:
    – one stretched section in the center,
    – and two additional stretched halves on the left and right.

Screenshot (only 2 of 3 parts are visible in the capture):

I already tried a full factory reset and a complete reinstall of VorpX, but the problem persists.

With VorpX v24 everything worked fine just yesterday, the issue appeared only after updating to v25.

Not sure why. I turned off shadows and toned down the 3D aspect of things, but after playing for a short while my right eye begins to ache. This doesn’t happen with true VR titles. I’m assuming it is setting related but have no idea what setting needs to be tinkered with to help.

When I hit delete after loading the game in, my cursor is captured and I can even edit settings (with random results because I cannot see the window). Is there a way to fix this?

The short answer is yes, for games that have working Geometry 3D there is a vorpX menu slider that controls the 3D strength and scale of the perceived game world.

However, I must warn you that out of the 4 games you mentioned, only Outlast has G3D profile support. Games running on opengl/Vulkan or Dx12 will not have this G3D capability.

    Greetings 3D fans,

I am thinking about buying VorpX for Doom2016 and Dishonored 2!
I´m slooooooowly running out of VR games because there is not much in true AAA quality after Half-Life Alyx and Moss, only indie-stuff and 2 hour games, that´s why I want regular AAA games in VR.
Just like Alien Isolation with that Mother-Mod, wow one of the BEST games for VR out there!

But VR has one significant flaw, everything is way too small and not life-like sized, and that´s why all games need to have the SteamVR world slider set to 120% to have the world around me in authentic life-like size.
Otherwise VR would look like a completely off and strange dwarfen world with ridiculous 140cm dwarfs as NPC´s standing around, chairs and tables look like made for elementary school children, and in general everything is only half the size it should be in VR when playing without the SteamVR world slider (which is the most legendary and important option ever implemented in any program!)

The world scaling option in SteamVR solves this problem diving into some ridiculous dwarven world whenever putting on the headset, for good!

Everything looks great now thanks to SteamVR world scaling. Even the cockpits in Flight Simulator 2020 needs slight scaling correction, the Fenix Airbus has a perfect life-like size in 110%, and the DCS jetfighters look great at 115-122% world size scaling.
Alien Isolation needs SteamVR world scale adjustment of 125% otherwise small children´s hands are holding the flamethrower.
You see how important size scaling is for VR? It is the main difference between being fully immersed, or being in a strange dwarven world where nothing has the right size and scale.

So to get to the point, it is not possible for me to enjoy VR without world scaling option because only having the correct size of objects gives immersion.

X-Plane for example has no world scale slider in VR, that´s why the cockpit chairs have the size for elementary school children, ridiculous and absolute impossible to immerse myself in such a cockpit.

You see, not graphics but seeing objects in the the right proper world-like size makes a game a masterpiece or a no-go in VR. :)

    My question is:
Has VorpX a world size slider option for games like Doom2016, Dishonored 2, (and I would also love to play Outlast and Soma if possible)?
Without world scaling the immersion and sense of size and height is so off that a VR gane is not enjoyable.
I need to know if I can adjust the size of the 3D world when using VorpX for a game before buying it :)

    Hey guys and gals.

Im new to all this and slowly reading my way through the forum and trying to tinker with things.

Anyways i have a few issues with a couple of games that ive tried.

I played Titanfall 2 last night in VR and actually thought it was fantastic the graphics looked good but not great…Im using Steam VR is there a way to make the graphics better in this game? I messed about with satuartion/Brightness etc and it made it stand out more in color but is there a way to make the pixels look more crisp? Is there a way to be able to see the menu in front of me? I feel as if i need take my headset off to read the menu and objectives because its far to close in VR.

When playing Star Wars Lego,i tried the vorpx setting and the game ran in full VR,the issue i had though is that i was right behind the chracter on screen and my head tracking was all over the place….I tried to fix the head tracking via the menu but it wouldnt work. I feel as if im far to close to the character and i actually feel sick (and i never get VR sickness from any game).

Outlast…Outlast looked good but not great in terms of character and item size. I feel as is im either to tall and the chairs and tables are to small or vice versa…im to small in VR…Game looks good though but the size and scale seems off.

TBH i actually really enjoyed playing in immersive mode…I played MK11 in that mode and the 3d effects were really good…I actually really enjoyed this. Sitting on a chair in VR but playing a game within a game really got me hooked…WHat other fighting games or 2d Platformers work well in this mode?

Thanks for any help..and i ll continue to read the forums for more knowledge….Glad i purchased this now.

by SuperDepth3D you mean Reshade? I also like to use that program. Recently played Resident Evil 7 and Blair Witch with it and it ran perfectly. My brother is currently playing Metro Exodus with it and is also very satisfied.

But Tridef3D is also a very good alternative. Hellblade was a dream with it, or Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Alien Isolation and Outlast.

What games would you recommend for VorpX?
Fallout3 is already a bit too old. I loved the game back then :)

I’m afraid I didn’t understand how you do that with the zipped backups. I have never heard of such a thing. I would like to test but I have to understand that first. How can I create this .zip?

I have a BenQ W2700. I’ve been using 3D since I saw Avatar in theaters in 2009. To this day I still love this technology :)

My first projector was a Benq w1070+
It could only do 1080p but I played Hellblade with it back then. With DSR you could select a 4K resolution and it ran perfectly with Tridef. You just need the right profile for it.

I’m currently playing this game on a i7-8700, 16GB RAM, GTX1070Ti with a Valve Index (90Hz refresh, Motion Smoothing On). I’m not experiencing your issues with this game, but I have experienced similar issues with Outlast (where it supposedly has DirectVR available, but not for myself).
Aside from having to lower Image Zoom to its lowest setting (0.40), while in FullVR/Pixel 1:1, in order to get a stable image, the graphics for Bioshock Infinite have been absolutely gorgeous.

With regards to your inverted head tracking, one of the sub-menus within Vorpx deals with HMD tracking (if memory serves), and I believe there are a couple options where you can invert the x/y axis (useful if no DirectVR is available).
    Ralf would know for sure.
Best of luck with B:I. I hope it works out for you.

This is due to the game capping its framerate at 62 fps.

You can fix this by editing the OLEngine.ini file in the config folder:
    c:\Users\<your user>\Documents\My Games\Outlast\OLGame\Config
    change
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62
    to
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=90

There are a load more optimisations detailed in this video:

I always seem to struggle with this app and quit trying. But I thought I’d give it another shot. I read in one of your guides a list of games considered “ready to just jump right in and play”. One of which was Outlast. So I imported the (official?) vorpx Outlast profile and started Outlast, but after the intro movie and I’m given control the camera just looks up and spins. And for the record, my blood alcohol level is way below the spinning vision limit.
