In reply to: Bioshock Infininite: Reflection Glitch
RalfKeymasterWhere did you encounter missing reflections in Bioshock Infinite? E.g. the water reflections in the start area are perfectly fine. If memory serves right the very first profile version from 2013 used a color sampling trick instead of the original reflections, but that has been changed years ago.

steph12Participantyou should play bioshock 2 original, not the remastered, original works much better in g3D with vorpx.
and yes, overhead is above 2X i believe but Ralf knows better.May 17, 2021 at 11:01pm #204113In reply to: Mass Effect Legendary Edition (DX11)
themeroteParticipantThanks, I used the custom launcher mod in the end as the game launcher is pointless so now I can just jump into all 3 games from the desk top. https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/46
All these settings work great, thanks so much, no crashes so far

It’s a great day to be able to play Mass Effect trilogy in VR, lets hope one day someone like Luke Ross works on a VR mod.

DaveParticipantIn the vorpx-config app you can exclude the launcher by picking the *.exe. of it. After that in the local profiles in the config app create a new profile based on the Bioshock Infinite profile with the assigned MassEffect1.exe of the Legendary Edition in the vorpx config app.
After the game was hooked by vorpx and you can see the game in your headset, just press the “Del Button” on your Keyboard and change the settings. You can also play around with the settings, you can reset it in the vorpx config app if needed.

Not at all.
We were discussing using the Bioshock Infinite’s profile on Mass Effect Legendary Edition for the Geometry 3D, we were sayng it is really taxing on performances. This concerne no other games than Mass Effect Legendary Edition with Geometry 3D.

themeroteParticipantSo how do you hook ME1 LE, do you need to pause it until you selected it in the Legendary Edition Launcher? Someone mentioned they disabled LE Launcher in Vorpx menu, anyone know how to do that? I couldn’t find G3D settings with the Bioshock infinite profile just Z3D. Let’s hope Ralph puts us out of our misery and drops an awesome profile soon, would be great to have 1 profile for all 3 games so you can drop in and out. I tried the old version of ME2 with G3D and the FP mod and it looked amazing, just didn’t work with the controller mod and I hate using keyboard in VR so I decided to get the LE, I must say they have been well improved, I still think EA are tight not giving owners any discount but even if they did it still probably wouldn’t be as much as CDKeys. 10 bucks for each game aint bad.

DaveParticipantThe profile of the old Mass Effect does not work with the Legendary Edition. You have to create a new profile based on the Bioshock Infinite profile with the assigned MassEffect1.exe of the Legendary Edition in the vorpx config app.
After the game was hooked by vorpx and you can see the game in your headset, just press the “Del Button” on your Keyboard and change the settings. You can also play around with the settings, you can reset it in the vorpx config app if needed.

SephaelParticipantAfter futher tests with the Bioshock Infinite’s profile, i found that the crashs when i engage in dialogue were tied to the Ambiant Occlusion.
I have no clue why, but turning it off definitly solved the problem for me.
I was still playng at 4k fullscreen.
I rushed until exploring the citadel, no crash. On another note, i found that G3D really sink the fps, even for my computer (i9 10900k & RTX3090).
First, my frame rate get caped at “45fps headset 90fps” (HP reverb G2 is a 90hz headset), and i often get low frame rate (25 to 35fps) during combat and places where there is reflections (no option in game to turn them down). What bother me is this 45fps cap; even when i select a higher cap in the option.
If i choose Z3D, then vorpx display “90fps headset 90fps”
I tried with Mass Effect 3 moded with Alot and rendered in 4k, and i’m between 75 to 90 fps with G3D.May 15, 2021 at 9:10pm #204071In reply to: Mass Effect Legendary Edition (DX11)
DaveParticipantI tested a bunch of profiles, released from 2015 until 2019, but nothing is better than Bioshock Infinite’s profile.

DaggettParticipantMy top 5 after more than 50 games tried with VORPX:
– The Darkness 2
– GRIS
– Bioshock 1,2,3
– DIRT 3
– Alan WakeMay 1, 2021 at 9:48pm #202361In reply to: What are your TOP VorpX experiences?
ac2334ParticipantMirror’s Edge is really impressive. Also played Bioshock (non-remaster) and it’s great. Working on getting Cyberpunk 2077 to look it’s best.
I’m using an MClassic, which offers a 4:3 aspect ratio option so I’m going to try and get CPunk looking as crispy as possible. I added all of Ralf’s custom resolutions to my 2080 Ti and will be playing around with it more later.
I have Alien Isolation using the MotherVR mod running incredibly and now that I added the MClassic it’s a whole new level.
Love VorpX, but really curious how “best resolution” is selected?? For example, I only played with it briefly but I couldn’t get the original Unreal to zoom out further like in Mirror’s Edge. TBH, have only spent about 2-3 hours with it thus far..

shadow warrior 1i use vorpx since i got my htc vive in 2016 and while i’m listing just a few here, i probably played hundred of games with vorpx either in G3D or Z3D and needless to say so far is has been an amazing experience, not always plug and play for unsupported games, and sometimes you may want to tweak game settings even for supported games if your hardware support it, it’s great !
Apr 14, 2021 at 2:07pm #201861In reply to: How is VorpX doing (sales-wise)?
moarveerParticipantI think Ralf should open a Patreon for those that want to keep supporting it, and maybe throw some bonuses for Patreon supporters. I’ve been using Vorpx since DK2 days, the first game I finished with Vorpx was Bioshock 1 on DK2, and not paid and extra euro since then. I’ve got my money’s worth and then some, and it’s such a fantastic software that I want to support it, hopefully Ralf will find a way to increase monetization if it’s not good, but since it’s still working actively I want to believe it’s doing OK, and with the Quest 2 breaking all kind of records the future is bright for VR and Vorpx, or so I hope.

lipplogParticipantThanks Ralf,
Is there a way to check for updates other than just starting VorpX (normally a Mac user, so I never got why Windows makes it so hard to check a version number)? Assuming it’s up to date, where would you like me to send the last save file for the original Bioshock 2?
NOTE: I switched back to Bioshock 2 Remastered and it seems to be working great now. So I may just stick with that anyway.
Apr 6, 2021 at 7:02pm #201702In reply to: Bioshock 2 (original) crashing?
RalfKeymasterFirst please check whether your vorpX is up-to-date, should be 21.1.1. There has been an odd Bioshock 2 crash issue for years, but that should be gone. At least I can’t replicate it anymore, no matter how often I try.
if it’s not an issue due to vorpX being outdated, it would be great if you could send me a savegame shortly before the crash occurs to check out to support at vorpx com.
