In reply to: Direct X 8 Support?

3204 patch for Unreal Tournament 2004 comes with DirectX9 support, as I found in web. Anyway, I see some old games in supported games list https://www.vorpx.com/supported-games/

Is there a technical reason DX8 is not supported in anyway, or is it due to lack of demand? Games such Unreal Tournament 2004 work great in 3D vision with high performance, and it would be great to play them in in VR.

Great bit of software, having a lot of fun with it.

Middle mouse button moves the screen to my left. I have to turn around in my chair to look at it. It helps with navigating menus, but is there a way to tell it which is forward facing in the seated position?

Which game profiles would be recommended to copy in VorpX to try and get the following games working?

Provided they still use the Unreal Engine, it probably won’t be too hard. Fingers crossed.

Just a heads up as I was pleasantly amazed, Bless the Korean MMO works with Vorpx (in geometry as it is dx9)via a Vive.

I’m sure there are better ways to do this, but I copied the Unreal 3 profile and added the Bless exe to it. I had success launching vorpx and placing it on pause for watching, patching, launching steamvr, and then launching the game from the patcher.

There’s an entire layer of other things you need to do normally to launch the game from the browser, but that’s info found online.

The main thing I wanted to pass along is that this does work, and the game is rather gorgeous mmo for a dx9 game. I understand that it will be on the russian servers soon and north america next year. I would love someone who is is better at this to cook up a profile etc. as I’m just tweaking and praying with no real experience here.

For those people that played ESO, this game is a great replacement fix.

Hi there i recently bought a game named Hatred to experiment with Vorpx. It is an Unreal Engine based game but is not supported officially by the software. I couldn’t make it run so far but i know there are some tweaks to play other games like renaming files or so. I wonder if anybody could help with that.

Hi,I would like to know if it is possible or not, change the FOV from game files u others methods, for automatic animations ingame, for example,in games based on unreal engine 3 or 4.

At the moment,I always change “global FOV” for all games first person camera, however, when a short animation occurs(NO cinematics),for example, reloading weapons, pressing buttons elevator or pressing other technological devices, often these animations with “low fov/zoom”.(Yes,It is not the best way to express this problem, but I hope you understand :P

I have managed to alleviate this in some specific occasions, reaching an “agreement” between two parameters. FOV game and option (3d-fov enhancement), located in the internal menu of Vorpx. The question is:
Do any way to modify the fov value directly for animations based on unreal engine 3/4 games?

Just wondering if there is any projection for an unreal 4 engine profile anytime soon? Is there any plan to get them working or is this something we can expect anytime soon? Some Unreal 4 engine games that I am considering but one factor is whether we can expect an Unreal 4 engine profile anytime soon.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, Ralf. I don’t yet have vorpX, or a Rift. But support for the classic games in Stereo3D is prerequisite for me, before i invest in the system.

In my eyes games like Quake, Unreal, Descent, Stalker, Half-Life etc. are essential, and i always wanted to play them in real 3D. Now my dream will finally come true. Until full remakes are available from the studios (don’t hold your breath :) ) vorpX will be the best option.

Hey guys, i’m interested in support for games on Unreal Engine 1, like Unreal Gold, Unreal Tournament ’99, Undying etc.

I know this is new land, but maybe someone has already tested it.

I’m interested in full Stereoscopic 3D, nothing else will do, only the real thing. :)

Hey PostFatal, do you play Unreal Gold in stereoscopic 3D? The game is not listed on the Supported Games page.

Okay so I managed to install VorpX however it seems completely broken , whenever I launch games through Vorpx they now always open the oculus home menu , the game displays on my monitor and a black screen (usually before intro cinematics) will display on the rift , Nothing else loads or displays on the rift after that.

The game will be completely playable via monitor but not at all on the rift.

Also I managed to get another game to open up but with a different conclusion

I opened another game it displayed on my monitor perfectly but , I got like a oculus VR blank grid that displays which asks me to look at the center to accept and display my game , upon doing that it just loads forever and never displays the game

    am I missing something?

I’ve had run untrusted oculus services checked and unchecked still to no avail

It seems like anything related to oculus starts the oculus home viewer and from there on , VorpX does nothing except keep the blue light from my tracker on , games that ran before on unreal engine 4 just instantly crash , seems the only games I’m able to play are the ones just that come with the new 1.3 platform , nothing’s working on my end on the new update.

For me the exe is in \Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries
    you can try UDK.exe
another Unreal Engine Profile, but without positional headtracking.

    or
    Borderlands.exe
    Borderlands2.exe

edit: Did you see the file exensions in Windows? There must be a typo or wrong rename. It shows up in VorpX with every name. When you don’t see the file extensions, than rename it without exe with the suggested profiles.
