schmitty1944ParticipantThanks for the update. In my case I’m pretty sure it was the last Vorpx update that caused the issue. It worked fine for me one day and not the next and the only thing that changed was Vorpx. I’m using an AMD Radeon card and not nvidia. I did try messing with the driver and it made no difference.
I’ll wait for the update and report back.
Thanks for your hard work!Oct 4, 2025 at 1:50pm #222234
McGuffinParticipantUpdate
Tried resetting game graphics and vorpx settings to defaults again and z-buffer modes started working. However, they only work at 1280×720 windowed, which is the resolution the game defaults to when settings are reset. Changing from this resolution seems to be breaking z-buffer modes for me. Vorpx will change to a different resolution and on restarting the game the z-buffer modes are no longer in 3d. Turning off vorpx resolution changing and changing the game resolution back to 1280×720 then restarting the game reenables the z-buffer 3d reconstruction.

McGuffinParticipantZ buffer rendering seems to have broken for me with Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. Not sure if this broke with an update, as it was working. Z Normal and Z Adaptive both look flat – the same as 3d off. G3D still works though. I have reset vorpx to factory default. I was using Nvidia 572 drivers and upgraded to 581 but no change. I’m running vorpx 25.1.2

LaserParticipantI stand corrected, it worked fine when I now tried it now. Maybe it was the 25.1.0 update that made it work again but who knows…

RalfKeymasterJust a heads-up that I could pinpoint two potential issues with the game, using the demo. One can cause a crash directly at start on CPUs with >12 cores and another one can cause a crash when loading a map.
Both issues are addressed, so the game should work fine under all circumstances after the next maintenance update. No date set yet, but shouldn’t take too long.

RalfKeymasterIs the game running at the same resolution in both cases?
I’m asking because a recent Windows 11 update seems to have broken vorpX’s fast capture method for (rare) 64-bit DX9 games (only Outlast and Crysis as far as supported games are concerned). At high resolutions that leads to a severe FPS drop. Might be the actual cause of your problem if you run the game with higher resolutions on the virtual monitor than on your actual monitor.
Unless MS changed something fundamental, I should be able to address that for the next maintenance update.

JDogDaBoyParticipantMy biggest problem with that is it completely deactivates my keyboard and gamepad. I’m not sure if there’s something I’m doing wrong, but even if I try to click on the window looking at my computer monitor rather than looking at the VR, keyboard presses don’t do anything. And it says RT or right trigger to cycle through the tabs and none of the buttons on my vr, gamepad, or keyboard actually cycle through anything. Then I tried desktop viewer last night and I got desktop viewer to do the full VR mode that I wanted and was excited I might have figured it out but it completely disabled my desktop monitor and I wasn’t able to use task manager to shut anything down nor was able to use the Windows key to shut anything down so I had to physically shut my computer down to exit desktop viewer. Again, it could just be something I’m doing wrong, but I might just have to wait until the next update to see if it’ll work then. Because aside from being able to press delete to get the menu to pop up, I can’t use Edge peak, and I can’t use any other device to bring up the menu. I do appreciate all of the assistance with this, and thank you guys for telling me that is the new home room and is the default place I will be going from now on.

RalfKeymasterIf you happen to be on vorpX 25.1.0, make sure to update to 25.1.2 by running your web installer. 25.1.0 did not work with outdated OpenXR runtime implementations like VD’s OpenXR. Unfortunately auto updates from 25.1.0 to 25.1.2 are broken, so you have to run your web installer manually. If you didn’t keep the installer, check the support FAQ for a new link.
As far as the start room is concerned, check the hint badges around the center screen. They tell you which buttons/keys you can press.

RalfKeymasterBoth the latest vorpX 25.1.2 and the standalone mod currently are based pretty much on the same code, so whether it’s vorpx 25.1.2 or the standalone mod doesn’t matter. Also no need to update CET, just make sure to use CP 2077 2.31 and the latest vorpX OR standalone mod.
DLSS works fine, just frame generation doesn’t. Graphics settings wise start with medium settings and go from there. Aim for a high resolution over raytracing. Raytracing+DLSS is possible on high end GPUs (4090/5080/5090), on mid tier hardware you’re almost certainly better off without raytracing.

flamefury42ParticipantWhat’s the best way to optimize my game for pc build? What settings should I tweak? Also, does the licensed vorpx inject the cyberpunk 2077 from the free version of the mod? I’m just trying to make sure I’m running the latest version from vorpx. I’m up to date. I updated CET and I can get in and run the vr. I’d like to fix the black bars that I see around my screen, do i need dial up my screen resolution in game? It’s also very choppy when I play so I know i have to tweak some things back in my settings. Does Vorpx allow dlss or no? Thank you for any assistance that you can provide me.

Benedict81ParticipantHi!
I am running the original Pimax Crystal headset and I’ve noticed that only the PimaxPlay version 1.40.1 or earlier works like it should with Vorpx. I tried the latest update, nothing shows up on the HMD, no Virtual Desktop, no game, just the Pimax star background image, so I rolled back to 1.40.1 (you can find the installer for 1.40.1 if you google it).

RalfKeymasterAs always no promises in regard to unsupported games, but I’ll take a look at it for the next maintenance update.

schmitty1944ParticipantSame problem for me. Super disappointed as Forgotten Hope 2 (BF2 WWII mod) is my favorite game to play in VR. Worked perfect until the most recent VorpX update. Now crashes when loading a mission. I’ve tried every setting and option. Wish there was a way to roll back the VorpX version.

schmitty1944ParticipantSorry to revive this old thread but This was my favorite game to play with Vorpx in VR. I hadn’t played it for a few months until a few days ago. Played a few rounds and it worked perfect. Next day started computer and Vorpx did an update and now it doesn’t work anymore. I’ve tried every option, I tried re-moving and re-installing Vorpx and FH2 and still the same. updated video drivers (radeon 580) Tried every 3d setting. Always the same. The game starts and the menu system works and looks great. When you load a mission it crashes to desktop before it starts. no error messages.
Any thoughts?
