MaceParticipant
Oh believe me, I do – and its all controlled :)
MaceParticipantOnly happened once so far so yeah, could well be an odd coincidence.
Is it an idea to make the startup manual/on demand and trigger the startup and shutdown of the service when vorpX starts and closes?
I know it hardly takes any resources but I like to keep my initial processes on my system clean.
So far it kept me away from weird issues and like to keep it that way :)MaceParticipantOk, thanks for the info.
I noticed it was doing something even when vorpX wasn’t running.
When I tried to close the Oculus software it gave a popup there was still an application running that was using the Rift.
After stopping the vorpX service that message didn’t show up anymore. If I run vorpX as an administrator does that give the same effect as the service running? (can imagine you use the service for local system permissions)
MaceParticipantAh, talking about coincidence with updates.
Hooked into the processes and saw massive wait times in your app.
Those led to MsMpEng.exe wich is the Anti Malware of Windows / Defender.
Guess your processes are suspicious :)Must have been a definition update around the same time the Oculus 1.4 went off on my system.
No executable updates from Defender so should be definition only.fyi the definition version number is 1.22.1.14.0 in case you want to do something with it.
For now I just created an exclusion in Defender on your processes and it works again.
Cheers.
MaceParticipantOnly 2 lines in the log. Should there be more?
INF: VorpControl: Starting. INF: VorpControl: Starting 64bit.
MaceParticipantAnd having a log what actually happens in your app helps a bunch troubleshooting.
But since you repeatedly ignored that question I can guess the answer.
I’ll go debugging myself and see whats causing the delays then.MaceParticipantOnly 1 question in my post. Guess no logs then?
If its not the 1.4 update then (which is good to hear) it’s very curious why it stopped working at exact that time.
MaceParticipantNope, didn’t help.
Already tried that ofcourse.
Also my symptoms are different than his.MaceParticipantIs the new multi projection something you can use for VorpX?
MaceParticipantThanks!
MaceParticipantHave ran all the games beforehand under this account.
I have most of my home folders redirected to a network share. (unc path)
Could that be an issue?MaceParticipantEvery application I -close- while VorpX is running the acceleration is enabled for a couple of seconds and then turned off again. So not even games only, everything.
Sometimes when switching/closing multiple applications it looks like VorpX is loosing track of it and keeps the setting enabled.
Guess that’s the reason I could not always replicate it.Can you -please- give an option in VorpX to leave my mouse settings alone, this is getting very annoying.
MaceParticipantI’m having this issue for every Steam game. Cannot find path.
Running normal or admin doesn’t make a difference.
Steam is installed in a custom location (could be part of the issue?)
All Steam registry keys are available (I reinstalled Steam too to be sure) and the games have been run.Is there a way to manually point to the config files?
MaceParticipantSometimes it does. But most of the times it keeps it enabled. (after exiting a game)
I have not checked this behavior when closing VorpX itself. Will do.But if I understand correctly:
I have acceleration disabled in Windows. I load a game with VorpX enabled where the profile setting for “disable acceleration” is false.
The acceleration is enabled? If that is the case I hope you can re-view this logic.
A global override would be very welcome.
Then you could (for example) change the profile option “Disable acceleration” to “Mouse acceleration” with 3 options: Global, Enable, Disable. -
