MarcoParticipant
I think that here in the fourum the subject is quite clear now but i suggest adding an option or improving the explanation over the subject also on the Games Optimizer, mentioning the other reccomended resolution like 1920×1440. It’s just a detail but i think would make things more clear for new users when they try their first games, giving at least the idea of which kind of visual performance could be obtained. A lot of people interested in VR is going to change their cards now and 1920×1440 should run super sweet on a 1080.
MarcoParticipantPoints of view.. my games work great.
MarcoParticipantI’m playing with gtx970 and the Vive. I have been trying quite a lot and i think that the best resolution with most games is 1280×1440, which looks really good in this headset. I wouldn’t go under that as it affects negatively the image more than lowering the ingame details imo.
MarcoParticipantI think u asking too much buddy!! Just use the controller
MarcoParticipantI just tried the resolution 1920×1440. It performs much better than any other combination tried so far, especially the suggested 1280 x 1024. My suggestion is to make clear the resolution matter here in the forum and directly in the software because i think that suggesting 1280 x 1024 can be misguiding. I see that with lower resolution games performs slightly better but looks too much worse to be a fair trade and someone may get a wrong impression about your fantastic software.
In 1920×1440 games such Dishonored, Aliens:Colonial Marines, Bioshock Infinite runs very well on my Gtx970 and Vive, looking almost as good as native VR titles! Well done!!!!!!!
MarcoParticipantI also bought the software – count me in!
MarcoParticipantThanks Ralf for giving that hint about the release, and to Gruey for his answer. I found a second hand Dk2 from a second hand stor, they offer “2 ys warranty” and buy back in case i won’t need it more once my Vive arrives and it’s ready to go. This way, i feel like in a win-win situation. In am planning to keep both for multiplayer with 2 pcs.
MarcoParticipantOne important question: will Vorpx game on Vive perform as well as Dk2 on the same computer? I have a 970 and planning to upgrade as soon as the new generation of graphic cards comes out.
I’ll try to explain better: if a Vorpx game works flawlessly on my PC and Dk2 headset, should i expect to run as well as when using a Vive or will the new hardware require a stronger graphic card to pull out similar performances?
Thanks
MarcoParticipantHi there Ralf! I write here in hope for an hint. I know u r not disclosing the release date of Vorpx for Vive until the right time has come.
Still, could u tell us if it’s something likely to happen on the next weeks or month, or if we’ll have to wait longer? (for ex. 3 months)
Thanks in general for ur work.

When i started this thread i was a bit afraid of asking something silly. Now i see at least it may clarify the subject and address someone so it’s not something useless.
I received the device and i have still to unbox it… or send it back to Hong Kong for refunding (i am a bad person, i know..) . The reality is i am craving for a Vorpx headset. I preordered HTC Vive with good timing but, living in Europe, i don’t know when i will get it and no one knows when Vorpx will be available for the device!
I feel like a child in front of a candy store or something worst. What should i do, open this 300 euros headset with no positional tracking i may be using just for a month then switch to Vive and Vorpx as soon as i get them?
If Vorpx on Vive would be like 4 months ahead, it would worth the gamble. If it gets announced for the next month, that would be a bit of waste of money.
Consider also my graphic card is a GTX970, i am also afraid that it wouldn’t be enough to run Vorpx games on HTC Vive in a good way… then again “The Poon” would be of use until Pascal comes out and i have money!
I admit being a bit confused. What would u do?

You said right i ordered it especially for Vorpx, but there may be another good reason: as i will upgrade my 970gtx to 980ti o even better the upcoming Pascal , to take full advantage of the HTC Vive and newer games, i will be having some spare components, almost half a computer let’s say. Therefore it may be accessible to build a second, smaller system for multiplayer pourpose and play games with my friend via LAN and have local VR gameplay for the cheap.
I made some researches and the positional tracking add-on solution and it looks like possible (just check the many videos on youtube) but halfway implemented.
I don’t know if this is gonna work but i am definitely not the only one having interest over the subject.I’m a Vr newbie and VORPX seems to be just amazing. On the top of that Vorpx developers seems to be very responsive in this Forum, i imagine them like magic Elfs working to make dreams come true. Let’s see if they can help us this time ;)
Have a good day.
