ParticipantI was suggesting this somewhere else: there should be a single ufficial topic for each supported game. This would save a lot of time and troubles to everybody.

ParticipantSome games are very close to native VR. Graphics of those games is even better than any native game, like Bioshock Infinite. There always be some things to get used to, like controls in case u wanna play standing is a bit different than the typical room scale game on Vive. But i think it worth it.

ParticipantI remember that issue, but don’t know the solution. I would like to know from u about general performances instead. Previous Vorpx version had a problem with headtracking with this game, which was suddenly deactivating. How is it running now? Cheers

ParticipantMirror’s Edge is epic.

ParticipantNice one!

ParticipantAnd impressive… playing Bioshock Infinite while standing in between all those great NPC’s is the real deal IMHO!

ParticipantHi again, what about just adding an option such as: Right thumbpad [Buttons/Rstick]. It’s not to insist, i just consider this a major confort upgrade for stand up 360 VR, which i guess will meet the preference of many Vive users as the closest to Roomscale.

ParticipantThe small black bars on Vive are on purpose for the sake of a better image quality (higher pixel density). It’s dialed in to provide the same vertical FOV as Rift.
If you prefer the full vertical FOV of your Vive over the higher pixel density, you can easily achieve that by setting the Image Zoom slider in the vorpX ingame menu (image page) to the rightmost position. That will exactly fill the screen vertically on your Vive.
If rotating your head feels slightly off-center, re-center the head tracking, either in the vorpX menu or with Alt+Space, which will solve this.
I’m using 1920×1440 res and i think the new picture format fits the VIVE screen much better. I may be wrong but i think that avoids having big bars on the side instead, with better overall proportions. I didn’t know what this was but i immediately noticed a difference for the better. Thanks for that.

ParticipantSomeone here mentioned rocket league. I follow some guys instructions on reddit a while ago and it’s been great so far. I just took a look again though and notice it seems to be running at 45 fps no matter the resolution I set it too. Tried to disable ASW didn’t help. Runs better if I set SteamVR mode in vorpx, so weird.
I think it might have to do with the fact that I cannot disable the “mirror to window” anymore. It seems to make the title choppy.
I’ve noticed the same thing with few games (VIVE). Bioshock: Infinite, everything works great but i am not sure if i can get 90 FPS anymore, and my guess is that often i am playing with 45 no matter what i set in the options. I can’t really tell because it’s nice and smooth anyway but i remember the difference was obvious when doing a comparison. I also notice a drop in performances with Dishonored, which i also thoght was related to the forced mirrored image.

ParticipantOk i will let you know my opinion in a more detailed way soon. It’s just few points basically; but they may make a difference to the confused user IMHO.

ParticipantI don’t think Vorpx is difficult, but i think that information (including the forum) and menus should be re-arranged a bit, and other things should be more standardized to the higher-end harware becoming normal in 2016 (=Pascal, Vive and Cv1, still supporting DK2 to avoid compliants). When you talk about solutions to certain issues i have the feeling that you talk about implementing advanced solutions; myself, i am talking about much easier things, in order to avoid certain issues to the new user.
I could disscuss these little things more but i don’t want to be lame or insist because this is your application of course, i am just trying to help because i like Vorpx.Marco
ParticipantYou know what Ralf, we all love your unbelievable work but even if it’s not really hard to make it work it still has lots of options and enabling or disabling one will make a huge difference on the game experience. Not everyone has the time to invest trying different games and make them work. On the top of that, the configuration process is often unconfortable and many people gets motion sickness because of that. Another little thing that would raise the average performance is assuming that Vorpx users have a VR ready PC (to me, this starts with 980ti graphic card, no less) and make it clear, because if one wanst real VR now he needs a powerful machine. This is true for SteamVr, so should be the same also for Vorpx. All these custom resolutions and performance configurations are just a compromise, in my opionion, and lead to subpar outcomes. Differently, many Vorpx game will look and feel about native on a 2016 machine.
Must be disappointing to get criticism after creating something unique like Vorpx, but i think you won’t have these feedbacks for longtime as soon as some rough aspects will get a bit more “polished” and user friendly. We know u r working into that direction big time, thanks for that.

ParticipantI also suggest to change the default background from Ambience to pitch black.

ParticipantPerfect, so i know i was doing everything right :D Do u have the same advices for Z-buffer 3D games? I wanna try playing The Witcher 3 that way.
