VorpX works with Virtual Desktop. You have to set VorpX to SteamVR since VD doesn’t use the Oculus Runtime. Air Link will be better and should work just fine since it’s basically wireless Link and a native solution built directly into the main Oculus software. I read that it also has ASW, so the performance should be much better.
I’ve seen that stated before, but I’ve never gotten it to work. I did have VorpX set to SteamVR.
However, I now have Air Link and can confirm that it works flawlessly with VorpX.
sueParticipantThen, are there any profiles that work?
You’ve gotten the answer already, it’s all 2D sprites in a flat plane. There’s no depth info like in Ori. You can’t get Chrono Trigger to “pop”.
Dec 1, 2020 at 7:42pm in reply to: Oculus Quest 2 – Vorpx and Virtual Desktop Wireless Not Working At All #198149sueParticipantNo dice, there’s no option to Switch to VR with Unravel, even though I can see the vorpX logo. Also I get a bunch of error messages when launching it.
sueParticipantI, likewise, can’t run Virtual Desktop with VorpX on Quest 2 even though it’s set as a SteamVR headset in vorpX settings. It’s a shame because the wireless quality is really nice on Quest 2, and you can set a virtual window to ceiling and play lying down. Any ideas for a fix?
Jul 11, 2020 at 12:00pm in reply to: Divinity: Original Sin (the first one) or Pillars of Eternity? #195950sueParticipantYep, Pillars is pretty much 2D. Tried the first one with Gone Home profile, it hooked up allright but no 3D effect.
First divinity works, I had to disable one shadow setting because the shadows under the characters where a little wonky. Maybe this could be fixed but not a big deal. Otherwise it was full geometry 3D.
What profile did you use for D:OS 1?
sueParticipantAlthough, you can sort of get around it by Alt+F4 in the main menu instead of hitting Quit.
By the by, any way to make the in game text larger? It’s quite tiny when being rendered in 1440p.
sueParticipantYeah, I’m running 20.2.0.
I’ve not found a way to force DX9 in DA: O, but according to some googling that game is only DX9. It came out around the same time as DX11 so it seems plausible.
For some reason it worked today, but I have no idea why. I did check a box yesterday that it should not show videos when you launch the game so it might be that.
Another annoying thing is that the computer freezes when you exit the game through the game menu. I have to tab out to SteamVR and then force SteamVR exit. Any idea what could cause that?
