come to think of it – i didnt try swapping between adaptive/normal 3d modes when it was crashing, that could be a culprit.. i dont have time to do more testing now, but if anyone wanted to give it a shot, feel free

Well, just for the record, spent some time with it on the Xbox Game Pass store and it starts – and runs in 3d if you import Conarium along with its DirectVR settings – game is in 3d and appears to look functional, adjustable field of view and everything, got it looking pretty good… but it crashes after about 30 seconds – 2 minutes of gameplay.. no clue why.

I tried playing offline, tried playing thru Steam and launching Xbox app that way, but, just couldnt get it to not crash. Its a shame too cause I really think its pretty much up and ready to go, the settings made the 3d as effective as any other game, but, alas, it just crashes.

I tried importing Conarium without the DirectVR settings and it wouldnt allow any sort of adaptive/normal 3d, with the DirectVR settings, it allowed those options and made the game 3d, but, we get the crash.

Some other profiles may or may not work, let me know if anyone finds a workaround.

For the record, the crash happens AFTER you make your character and go thru the opening cinema and first get control, you can see the game looking great and running smooth – but crash will happen after a few moments unfortunately

If anyone finds a trick around this, feel free to share! lol

Thanks for clarification, Ralf. i kinda jumped the gun with being psyched seeing it launch in vorpx, didnt realize those limitations on it, appreciate it!

I suppose these limitations may mean i need to get some of these games on steam/gog if i cant get a good setup on game pass, thanks for letting us know

I think a problem with this one might be theres no real FOV settings… is that something i should be able to get around with vorpx? Im pretty well versed in vorpx at this point but wasnt seeing anyways to mess with this games fov and the game itself doesnt have a fov option or slider… i was looking to see if there was any info on command prompts to force fov to certain point and wasnt having any luck online with the info about the game thats out there so far… it did just get released, so im not surprised by that, just im a cosmic horror lover and this is like right up my alley, lol.

Ralf – if you plan on looking at this one and building a serious vorpx profile for it, if you could just respond and let me know, then ill just hold off on playing it :p

sorry to ask straight up like that, lol, your program is worth sooooo much more than you charge for it and i recommend everyone i know who gets vr headsets to get it, so you dont owe me squat.. but if you could make a profile for this one it would make me super happy lol. take care of yourselves, everyone!

and again, ralf – thanks for your fantastic product. You have brought so many games to life for me that i really have to say youre the #1 player in VR as far as im concerned at this point – all these companies releasing these half games/wave shooters, etc.. you got us playing real games and i appreciate it so much. Currently on a playthru of Prey and your profile for that is fantastic. thanks for your work!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, ill be trying those out immediately. I appreciate your work, thanks so much for it, keep it up! Brought entire games to life in a way no one else managed to do on such a wide scale, good work dude. I tell everyone the 40 bucks for vorpx is totally worth it if theyre getting a headset, so i am rooting for ya lol.

    thanks again, take care

Yeah, i pretty much play ‘everything’ in ‘full vr’ and just use the grip to pull the view out to check stats and hud but then zoom back in. Some of the games you can move the huds around in full vr which eliminates that need, but not nearly all of em have it.

But ya, i do full VR and when i have something ‘off screen’ i need to see, tap the grip, get the info, hit grip again back to full vr

Hey Sly, thanks for taking the time to respond.

I definitely felt a bit of what youre talking about, im not entirely sure if theres anything we can do to fix that part of it cause the game runs so fast… that being said, I did upload another profile, but to be honest – i dont really understand this stuff and whether my new profile will give you my new settings, but, if you wanted to try it out, its called “Doom 2016 2”, without the quotes. Or just look up my name, TheBalt

Honestly… this is gonna sound sad, lol, but when i first started in VR with DK2 i used to take motion sickness pills before jumping in and it helped get me pretty good “VR Legs”… Im not trying to tell you to go get medication, lol, but if you wanted to try that, it might help with the absurd speed of Doom 2016

Good luck, i hope you figure a way around your issue. Keep the old profile tho, im not sure if the new one is really ‘better’ in any way, so dont overwrite the other one just in case

Thanks for the chat and take care of yoself!

Yeah, it should be viewable to you if you search for my name, TheBalt , or look for “Doom 2016 2”, without the quotes.

I did some modifying to what i had put up yesterday but im not really sure how vorpx handles those things, whether it will load it into your profile when you download it or not, but, its all i got :( sorry, hope it works for you

Okay so i spent some more time with it today and yeah, doom 2016 totally works. Get into the game, set it to 3d geometry, set your resolution to a 4:3 ratio (i think it was 4:3 the game tells you even when you boot it up that its the best ratio for it), pick a resolution your system can handle in that ratio

I used OculusTrayTool to put SuperSampling to 1.2, you could probably go higher, im just running on an old graphics card, overclocked 780, but got a good processor, i7 4930k.. anyhow, game is running and looking good at 80+ fps in the rift for me. You might have to turn off -alot- of their settings or set them to low but the game still looks gorgeous either way.

But disabled the games Anti Aliasing and increased Sharpening to handle those ‘blurry’ images that were like 15-20 feet away and its smooth now and looks good… im not gonna pretend youll have the exact same experience with it as me, but, the game is playable and it is actual 3d… hope you can get it running, good luck!

I did mess around in Nvidia control panel a little bit also and set it to high performance, anti aliasing mode – Application controlled, but Anti aliasing transparency to 2x supersample, power management maximum performance, Texture filtering LOD to Clamp, Texture filtering quality to high performance; Trilinear optimization to On, Threaded optimization to On, Vsync Off, VR Prerendered frames to 2

    hope it works for you!

It has Geometry 3d in the profile, the issue im trying to figure out is a ‘blurriness’ of anything more than like 15 feet away… im sure there some settings in Nvidia or in the game or vorpx to help clean that up, but otherwise, it works, its real 3d

Oh yeah – when youre in Doom immediately press Delete and switch the visual settings, only one of them works, the others are just utterly bugged out, youll scroll thru em and see which one gives a real picture. But like cinema mode and stuff are just total messes, one of em made the game run right tho, so just scroll thru them

I did find a profile for Doom 2016 that appears to work pretty well, I didnt spend a ton of time with it cause i kinda went on a ‘what games can i get running in vorpx’ rampage and managed to get doom 2016 up and running.. i thought it looked really good, but you can be the judge if you like how it runs or not. I dont remember whose profile i got it from unfortunately, was just running through too many games to give proper credit, but, I will go ahead and upload the one I have into the Vorpx Config and you can try the profile i have.

I uploaded the profile as Doom 2016 – the author will be TheBaltar, go ahead and see if that works for your system.

    good luck!

I did manage to get TOR to launch once in Vorpx with the official Vorpx profile for Elder Scrolls Online. Import that, then connect it to the old republic’s .exe and it worked.

That having been said – it only worked once, i dont know if theres something i did wrong or if those initial files on first bootup (i had a fresh install of TOR) let it do something it isnt doing on follow up bootups… but ya, if you wanted to try to get it working, probably start with the Elder Scrolls Online Vorpx profile, they were both made in the Hero Engine i believe and thats the only reason it worked at all, i think
