Use WMR’s native OpenXR and set vorpX to OpenXR mode.

SteamVR is never necessary for vorpX with a WMR headset. It shouldn’t run at all actually. WMR’s native OpenXR implementation is always the best option for WMR headsets.

Unfortunately, I think its due to mods I have now, thats stopping the game with OpenXR… but I switched to Steam and set some settings down and it works fine, so, not sure why the .dlls are upsetting Vorpx on OpenXR but not on SteamVR for Elden Ring modded, but, it does. I cant explain why, no clue.

But, thats a solution I found for this particular situation, probably not applicable for most people, but it seems like SteamVR overlooks the dinput8.dll and dxgi.dll from my mods. So… Im cool with that as a solution.

Thanks for your time and continuing work on vorpx. Its been an awesome like decade now of playing so many games like this, I appreciate it

Is there a way to change individual button inputs on VR Controllers with the mod? Currently the dash move is on the same left hand controller as the movement… basically meaning you cant dash into another direction because you are pressing the button but have no finger on the joystick.

Is there a way to customize this?

    Thanks for your time

Unfortunately I cant play with motion controls right now so gamepad is my only option, but Ive run into a small issue.

Headtracking while ADS doesnt work. I have to use my controller entirely once aiming down sights.

Is there an option or way to fix this so I can use “Head Aiming” on top of the control stick to hone in my shots with an Xbox Controller?

    Thanks for your time

Was curious for a fix for my situation. When I turn with my head, everything is smooth, looks great, plays great.

When I turn with my controller, the screens mix in and turn into like a “slide show”, I think its called Reprojection? Anyways, it runs great, its just when I turn the control stick, I get this effect where the things I was looking at previously “follow” in my headset until I stop turning, then everything gets back in order.

Im on an HP Reverb 2 v2. Using OpenXR.

I would appreciate any help with fixing this. Thank you for your time.

Im not sure if this has been brought up yet, but on this beta branch, I had to uninstall it basically immediately

This particular native Windows program was going -insane- with resource hogging, I couldnt launch anything due to it using 99% of my CPU

The program was WMI Provider Host

I just used a System Restore point after doing a reboot and making sure Vorpx didnt turn on.

Unsure if this has been reported, but wanted to let Ralph now, this WMI Provider Host thing tanked my PC when I had Vorpx Beta running.

    Cheers, everyone

Has anything been changed by the developers in Doom 2016 in the meantime? Asking because Doom 2016 ran excellently about 3 years ago when I last played it with Vorpx.

As far as I know, due to it being the Vulkan api, none of the profiles on the Vorpx Cloud are actually displaying 3d. Its easy to misconceive this at times due to the immersive nature of having the entire game world in your entire Field of View, but, its not actual rendering the game into 3d.

You could use the instructions I give above for just about any game, if you wanted to test out a regular Vorpx Profile vs Reshade Side by Side 3d w/ Vorpx Desktop Viewer

Go to my thread here if you want to get Doom/Eternal/Wolfenstein etc to work with Vorpx Desktop Viewer, you just need to enable Reshade. You will have head tracking, but not depth – Basically, you can use your head and controller in Tandem to target and for movement direction, etc.

Other apps and the Nvidia3dVision trick didnt include headtracking for me.

I didnt have to downgrade any of my graphics options, was still running it about 1440p maxed out except raytracing

Also, Do Not Launch the Game from the Steam Menu!

I go into Offline Mode (So theres no chance of any patches applying) and launch it directly from the directory your new Sekiro.exe is in, for the 1.04 version.

Launching it in Steam will launch the updated version of the game

Any questions you have, Ill try to help

Am i out of luck with my 21:9 ultrawide monitor? I’d have to use 3840×1600, which is OK i guess, but not ideal with the limited FOV of current VR HMDs. I’d rather use 16:9 in the Desktop Viewer.

I genuinely dont know and I dont want to mislead you. My recommendation, if you tried it and it didnt work, would be changing your Display’s properties to a more typical resolution; not in the game, but in Windows.

This will make the game recognize Resolutions at the setting you “Tell” Windows that your Monitor really is.

Youd do this by Right click desktop – Display Settings – Advanced Display Settings – Display Adapter properties for Display 1 – “List All Modes”; then set it to a typical resolution like 2560×1440, 1920×1080, 3840×2160, etc etc.

Then your monitor will probably have bars on the sides, but the game may let you launch that way.

When youre done with a play session, just pull up the same settings, back to “List All Modes” and choose your Monitor’s actual resolution, which will put everything back as it was before you changed anything.

Somewhat tiresome process to do each time you launch, but, I think thatd work. It may work without changing those settings, but if you cant get it to pull up, thats what Id use as my first step for troubleshooting

You also want to have your In Game Resolution matching your Desktop Resolution.

You can force the Alt Tab into Doom Eternal to work sometimes by Alt Tabbing in, then repeatedly hitting the space button as it pops up on screen for a moment.

If you see a black screen during gameplay/cinematics, check that your resolutions are the same in desktop and in game

Absolutely, made two of my favorite games of all time Sekiro and Doom Eternal even better.

Sekiro, 1.04 version, has a First Person Mod. You are face to face swordfighting, the thrill is unreal and I go back for another playthru every like 8 months or so.

Doom Eternal doesnt have 6dof, but you can get it to give you the 3d effect. Install Reshade for Doom Eternal and include the “Side by Side 3d” option. Enable that. Launch Vorpx Desktop Viewer. In Vorpx Desktop Viewer, go to the setting for Side by Side 3d, enable it, and boom – youre in full 3d Doom Eternal.

They are certainly my favorite games of all time and Vorpx just makes them shine even more.

This may sound overboard, but its not like its a harmful medication, try playing a few times a week with some Dopamine, same medication you take when you get on a boat, because your inner ear doesnt work well with a bobbing around.

I started playing with a DK2 and had very mild motion sickness at first, used dopamine for a few sessions and dont get VR sickness whatsoever at this point.

Hell, played Doom Eternal in 3d (no 6dof) and didnt have a problem playing whatsoever. Your mind can get used to it, but, some people will criticize it for being too much to just play a video game; but try dopamine for a few weeks and just play a little bit through the weeks to get your body and mind on the same page when it comes to VR.

Worked for me, might work for you. Good luck getting over it whatever you decide to do, I would be super frustrated if I got motion sick from playing.

This part was a typo in my instructions:
And youll need Frosty Mod Manager to use it, its the option on the right, just click “Download” under “Mod Manager”:
    https://frostytoolsuite.com/downloads.html

The Mod Manager is on the LEFT side of the page, not the right. Sorry for any confusion

Does this work with controllers or is it keyboard mouse only? Saw you were using mouse in menus and keyboard shortcuts in game. Looks cool though, thanks for the heads up!
