My top experience are MaxPayne 3 and Alan Wake both played in cinema mode with g3d enabled. so immersive and very mind blowing. 3rd person G3d rocks!!

Yup, I always try my best to explain to the redditor, the wonder of playing 2d non vr games in vorpx,

this software is just mind blowing for me, there is no way i can go back to 2d games without 3d stereo effect like G3D inside giant massive screen.

Thank you so much ralf for all these good years of VR

That doesn’t seem to be in the current non-beta release yet. It’s almost certainly worthless for vorpX anyway though since it wouldn’t affect the actual game rendering. The second pass that sends the image to the headset wouldn’t gain anything substantial.

The f***ing new ‘Compatible With Vive Only Game’ setting however is a real problem. Not only is it on per default, it gets reset every time PiTool is started.

If you happen to be active on the Pimax forums, please complain about this nonsense. A headset should not pretend to be another brand, especially not if it’s as different as Pimax 5K/8K are.

I’ll add an according warning for the next vorpX if a Vive is detected but PiMax software is running, but that’s far from ideal as it will also affect users with both headsets that are currently using an actual Vive.

gotcha, make a thread for it. let see what they can do about it.

    Okay,

    1. i manage to solve the pimax/vive issue, like you said after i check and unchecked the “vive only game” and then restart everything, my pimax now detected as pimax 5k, thank god, i thought it was broken due to wrong firmware update or something. LOL, someone at pimax need to get fired asap

    2. I have tried change my monitor resolution to higher res so it match with the game res, sadly in alice it seem didn’t have any effect, i think you are right, somehow alice still revert back to low res. please kindly investigate more with old game like this, is alice a direct vr games ?

as for alan wake, superb clear, i love it !!!!!, the game run very smooth too.

    Hi Ralf,

I think i have solve the blurry issue for Alan Wake, just like you said i use higher resolution but forget to save and to quit and restart the game after that. after i save and restart the game, the vorpx in game menu and game image look very sharp now.

Sadly, vorpx and game in Alice madness still look like a low res even after i set higher res and restart it again, im not sure why with alice madness. maybe just need a better resolution for this game ?

    thanks for the solution ralf

    note:
Yeach, maybe i will try to reinstall all pimax and steamvr and see if it is fixed

that is definitely weird, i will take a look at those weird pimax/vive detection later.

as for blurry, like i said before, i have run the game on higher resolution > 1440p, i created the resolution for pimax with 3840×2400 in nvidia control panel and set it in game in that resolution, especially for alice, this blurry issue still exist somehow. Im not sure why.

I use pimax 5k with latest pitool and latest firmware,
that is why I am a bit confused as why my HMD detected as vive in steamvr.

    thanks for looking into this,
i turn on supersampling in steamvr before because i think maybe it will help the vorpx look more sharp and less blurry, before i turn on the supersampling, the blurry still visible.

Yes, Please kindly take a look at this issue, since i believe this issue always occur 100% on me now, as for vorpx version before 19.2.0, i encounter this blurry issue sometime but it is fixable by restarting my pc/ replugging my Pimax5k, and restarting all service (pitool, steamvr).

But now restarting service / re-plugging HMD didn’t do the trick anymmore.

I have tried 2 games so far,
Alan Wake and Alice madness, alice madness is the worst, i barely able to read the vorpx menu, as in alan wake, i still manage to read the vorpx text somehow.

like i said it is as if vorpx use the lowest resolution for my vr device
still confuse how to fix this since this issue doesn’t occur before

can you be more specific with ” Getting it to hook is probably just a matter or re setting its exe to another supported U4 game” ? what step did you do to reset this exe ?

    need advice, thanks a lot.
