I really can’t wait for this, I stopped playing Bioshock Infinite completely until this is released so I’m counting the days, I know I shouldn’t expect miracles but any image quality improvement will be more than welcome so I’ll test this thoroughly once it’s available. As always thanks Ralf for this kind of improvements, I hardly play anything else in VR other than Vorpx, even though I have a Viveport sub that I haven’t used for months.

I’m not sure it’s possible for immersive screen and cinema, but some games, like infinite bioshock, support room scale and location in fullvr mode. so you can peek behind a wall. the 3d effect instead is available for all games that support g3d

well, we are not all sommeliers of virtual reality, I believe that 75% of the “fantastic” judgment refers to the game itself. Then you know, vorpx has its limits. When I use it I don’t look at trifles, such as the imperfect depth of the gun with respect to the floor. Of course it doesn’t perform as well as with Bioshock infinite, but it remains one of the experiences with Vorpx! IMO

You can start with bioshock infinite, titanfall 2, bulletstorm full clip, resodent evil 7, resident evil 2 and 3 wot forst person mod.

    Titanfall 2?

The official Titanfall 2 Vorpx profile is completely broken. By which I mean there is zero depth perception between your weapon and the background environment. Look at the ground and your weapon is a flat 2D object with the same depth as the ground. I can’t believe anyone would consider this playable, much less recommend it.

Bioshock Infinite, on the other hand, is indeed an excellent representation of what Vorpx can do at its best.

Gave Bioshock Infinite a go. Have to give it a nope after my first run with the skyhook thing. Just too much. Otherwise pretty great.

Fingers crossed, thanks Ralf for at least giving it a look.

Quite off topic but talking about performance, I’m almost at the end of Bioshock Infinite with Vorpx using Virtual Desktop and Quest 2, god that game looks incredible in VR, and Asynchronous Spacewarp on VD gives sooo much better performance on Vorpx over Oculus Airlink, I’m running at 4k res in the game and smooth as silk on a 2080ti, and it’s incredibly sharp.

Well, at this point I feel like a total idiot. My initial assessment was correct – it was the Oculus Client messing things up, not Vorpx. I realized this after the problem occurred again last night and I tried to repair it with the game console, which failed miserably because it was already gamepad-enabled.

For some reason the Oculus client was hiding the controller and sending keystrokes and mouse inputs (sounds a bit far-fetched on the keystrokes, but I opened up the console, moved the left stick around, and saw it fill up with WASD’s). I checked some other games (Bioshock Infinite for example) and they also had the same problem, while other’s didn’t (Borderlands 3 and Witcher 3). Even some native VR apps had this problem, whereas Virtual Desktop was unscathed.

Anyway, I had to re-install the Oculus software 3 times and re-pair the controller a gazillion times before it took, so I’ll be getting a new hmd soon. If you’ve got any recommendations for anything that doesn’t have Oculus or Facebook written on it…

So…I was really having fun in Skyrim – I’d lost interest in the game before Vorpx, but now I’m back at it again. Vorpx was what I got my headset for, I just didn’t realize it at the time, so thank you very much (I found that with few exceptions that native VR games are {expletive deleted}, IMO).

All good. I believe you that you experienced what you described. like said above I’ll check whether I can replicate your issue somehow.

Thing is the game works perfectly fine under normal circumstances. It’s actually among the 100 best vorpX experiences you can get. I’d say what primarily adds a “whole other depth” to the game is vorpX bringing a flat game like Bioshock Infinite into your VR headset with the best possible DirectVR support imaginable, even including basic roomscale in this case. :)

But, again, of course I will check whether I can replicate your reflection issue.

Where did you encounter missing reflections in Bioshock Infinite? E.g. the water reflections in the start area are perfectly fine. If memory serves right the very first profile version from 2013 used a color sampling trick instead of the original reflections, but that has been changed years ago.

    Nice !
Do you know if the performance of G3D will be as taxing as the Bioshock infinite profile, or if it should be smoother ?

Thanks, I used the custom launcher mod in the end as the game launcher is pointless so now I can just jump into all 3 games from the desk top. https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectlegendaryedition/mods/46

All these settings work great, thanks so much, no crashes so far

    Cinema mode
    Head-tracking MP 0.00
    HT Sensitivity 0.00
    Geometry 2.00
    Fluidsync on
Frameslimit 40-45fps – I used (Oculus Tray tool) for this

In the Mass Effect in-game options change this settings.

    4:3 Resolution
    Borderless
    Dynamic Shadows off
    Blur off
    Grain off
    AA off
    Ambient Occlusion off

I also played with the FOV setting with the Bioshock Infinite profile and zoomed the screen all the way in. It looks great with hardly any borders.

It’s a great day to be able to play Mass Effect trilogy in VR, lets hope one day someone like Luke Ross works on a VR mod.

In the vorpx-config app you can exclude the launcher by picking the *.exe. of it. After that in the local profiles in the config app create a new profile based on the Bioshock Infinite profile with the assigned MassEffect1.exe of the Legendary Edition in the vorpx config app.

After the game was hooked by vorpx and you can see the game in your headset, just press the “Del Button” on your Keyboard and change the settings. You can also play around with the settings, you can reset it in the vorpx config app if needed.

    Not at all.
We were discussing using the Bioshock Infinite’s profile on Mass Effect Legendary Edition for the Geometry 3D, we were sayng it is really taxing on performances.

This concerne no other games than Mass Effect Legendary Edition with Geometry 3D.
