There is already a topic with a lot of them :

    Geometry VR Game List.

You can check engines&games here :
    https://rjkole.com/gamestuff/engines/index.php

Or looking for the game on the forum.

Or just trying it (the only way to be sure).

From my personnal experience, best profiles are :
    Originals Bioshock 1&2&Infinite
Originals Metro (I tried 2033 it has perfect G3D and 6dof) and Redux versions (I tried Last Light Redux and it was perfect but I recommand a top end graphic card with this Redux version, without even knowing if it’s better than standard)
The ascent (and some others Unreal Engine 4 games) works well.
Black Mesa (&Xen), probably Portal and Dark Messiah.
People say Dishonored, Titanfall 2, F.E.A.R, Mirror’s Edge, Fallout 3, etc. works well.
Probably Clive Barker’s Jericho & Undying too.
Originals Stalker works with good G3D but without adavanced lighting (DX9 only).

Kingdom Come Deliverance, Metro Exodus and Farcry Primal works well enough (and so probably Cry Engine games like Prey 2017 / Crysis 1-3, and Snowdrop Engine games like Facry 2-5)

Even if concerning Metro Exodus, I prefer Z3D during most of the game (except bunkers&spiders which are great in G3D) in order to have raytracing, at least on Reverb G2 (no compression, so it’s stunning).

Some Z3D profiles are very close to G3D (Atomic Heart, Frontier Of Pandora, Unreal Engine 5 games seems to work great from my experience).

I may be wrong, but I think most DX9 games probably have perfect G3D, and some DX11 games too.

Same problem here. I must admit i hated Vorpx becasue I could not get a single game to work. Two years after buying it I got Metro to work and since then I have played a few games in VR with Vorpx including Black Mesa. Yesterday it was working perfectly and today it crashes on start up. Ive tried starting from installation folder, Resetting the vorpx profile etc. I just tried Vorx Desktop viewer and that is also crashing. Any ideas?

    Hello everyone,
I have some issues with Black Mesa official profile in DirectVR. G3D isn’t working with game menu and launch screen, some flooded zone water effect and shadows seems broken.
There is also an issue with guns and hand out of scale (gigantic) i tried to use the hiding weapon option but it seems to doesn’t work as intended (only working on the shotgun).

When i switch to play in Cinema mod with G3D hands and weapons are way too stretched!

Playing Black Mesa with a ‘normal’ monitor FOV currently messes up the image due the DirectVR weapon handling, which moves the weapon out of sight in VR mode. At lower-than-VR-FOV it currently totally messes up the image though. Has been taken care of for the next build already, for now please switch to ‘Generic HMD’ temporarily and turn off automatic weapon handling on the DirectVR page of the menu. Then switch back to ‘Generic 3D Display’.

    That aside:

Like the message that gets displayed on each launch in SBS3D mode says, vorpX is made for VR primarily. SBS 3D was added on request and is not officially supoprted. Any potential expert settings are purely VR related, there aren’t any expert settingd for SBS 3D mode.

    Hi,
I started to use Viture One glasses with the “Generic Display” mode of Vorpx.
I started “Black Mesa” and selected a 4:3 resolution and had G3D, but the FOV is far too wide and after a couple of seconds the picture kind of zoomed in and stayed that way… weird! (I didn’t do anything to zoom in!)
Then I went into the in-game settings of Vorpx and whenever I change a setting, the picture zooms out again, until I close the settings menu – a couple seconds later the weird zoom kicks in again.
Also, I enabled the checkbox “Expert settings” in the config app, but in-game there are no expert settings in the menu! What?? Are they disabled for “Generic Display”??
Now I’m stuck, because the game is unplayable like that.
Anybody using Side-by-Side glasses who can help me?
    Help please!

Thanks, but I’m really frustrated right now.
Black Mesa doesn’t work for me. I can’t use the menu of the game…?!
Vorpx kicks in, but I can’t start a game.
Also some flickering. I already use 4:3 ratio.
Wasted about 3 hours, still can’t play the game.
    This is so annoying…

Black Mesa should be pretty straightforward, since there is official profile for it.

Select correct hmd (quest) in vorpx and then launch the game and vorpx “should” hook up to it.
There“s basic quick reference help in vorpx that should help you get going.

    Hi again,
I got a good deal on a Quest 2 (almost new).
Now I can’t wait to try it out.
Is there a step-by-step guide for setting it up, so that I can play “Black Mesa” in 3D?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I’m new to all this VR headset stuff. Played “Half Life 2” back in the days with Elsa Revelator 3D glasses on a CRT Monitor and loved it.
Now I want to get back into 3D gaming again, because I found out about “Black Mesa” (remake of the original Half Life game).
I don’t want to spend lots of money, is there a piece of hardware that I can buy to get back the 3D without too much hassle?
I’m not new to computers but I don’t want to fiddle around for hours. What would you recommend?
    1. What VR Set or what display can I buy? Low price please, it’s ok for me to buy used gear.
    2. What Software do I need? Drivers for the VR Set or display, and also Vorpx or what else?
    3. How difficult is it to get the VR Headset or display working with “Black Mesa”? I want the 3D vision, I don’t need virtual controllers or are those automatically supported, too?
You know, I don’t want to buy hardware and then find out it doesn’t work with “Black Mesa” or it’s unplayable because of some glitches or errors…
Thank you to everybody for your help!!!

Great that HL1 got the raytracing treatment, sure worth tinkering around with.

BUT: if you actually want to play Half-Life, play Black Mesa: Source with vorpX instead. Half-Life was great at the time for sure, but Black Mesa is the better game in every imaginable way. Incidentally also one of the highend vorpX profiles with DirectVR support at its fullest extent. And it actually looks better than the raytraced HL1 (way better models and textures) while being 10x faster.

Pretty much a close to native VR experience, and even better if you add two or three shooting related controller gestures with the latest vorpX beta.

Thanks Ralf, already experienced that awesome game in awesome Vorpx Vr

Hi. A few weeks ago I got my valve index. The same day I found vorpx and tried it immediatly with Black Mesa.

The game works fine in any way and I love it. Except for the water. It looks weird and crappy. When I close 1 eye the water looks different then when I close the other eye.

So basically my left and right eye have a different view on the water and the overlapping with both eyes open just doesnt work.

Until now I usually close 1 eye in most water sectioned but it seems to take effort to keep 1 eye closed while playing.

Any knows settings on either vorpx or black mesa that can fix this or will I have to endure?
