I’m trying to get call of duty 1 to inject, any help would be appreciated, tried renaming the exe to various ones, none of them worked, its an old game but it does have built in FoV adjustments.
as title when i try to switch from geo mode it crashes with the game stuck on the vorpx options
Firstly just bought VorpX and i’m very happy with Skyrim on my DK2.
Been trying to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to work.
I’ve had limited success with this, will only launch in 3d in either 640×480 or 800×600. No in game VorpX menu when pressing the del key. Head tracking is working, but not positional. Dont think geometry 3d is working, might be Z-buffer but cant tell as no in game vorpX menu.
Any hints on how to get this working? or are you / will you work on this please Ralf?
kind regards,
Marcus
Your best option for a WW2 game working with Vorpx is Call of Duty World at War, although I don’t know if it will have 3d at all.
Ok after much testing and rebooting and using rift as primary display there is no drastic slowdown on the outdoor scenes. So something was finicky the very first time I tried it out. There is certainly a perceivable difference still with the outdoor scenes but now it more like going from 90fps to 45fps instead of from 60fps to like 15 or less the first time I tried it.
So to make a long story short…Call of Duty Black Ops 1 is as perfect an experience as Bioshock Infinite. Problem is I still prefer the scenarios in COD MW3. But more and more I see Ralph and vorpx being the current savior of the DK2, These polished triple A games are much better than the sparse tech demos we’ve had to live with before.
Now if onlu I can get COD: Ghosts to work! That introductory scene with the space station in 3D? I can’t wait to try it out.
Works and looks amazing in Geometry mode…however when in an outdoor scene with objects very far away the framerate dropped a lot to like what looks like 15 fps or below..but focus on a scene where there are only close up objects and the framerate was back to solid.
In COD MW3 I noticed no such slowdown with large outdoor and underwater scenes. Could be that the newer Black Ops game was more demanding on GPU and CPU? I also noticed no transparent outline halo images around objects with Black Ops 1, whereas with COD MW3 I get the those slight visual anomalies.
So basically I’d still prefer play COD MW3, hoping for a fix to remove those ghosting images.
Also at the present time COD: Ghosts simply doesn’t get recognized by vorpx dk2, for me at least.
Thank you for everything Ralf. I am loving playing with my DK2 with vorpx. I went through the entirety of Bioshock Infinite with vorpx on my DK1 and it was my best vr experience and I am reinstalling it for uses on the DK2 now.
I spent some time playing bioshock infinite myself…I ended up disabling the dynamic shadows because apparently the game produced different shadows on the left than the right eye making some people and objects look a little wierd. There are still static shadows in the game so it wasn’t too bad.
I thought BIOSHINF was the shit until I tried Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, there are underwater sequences where you take over a sub and then turbulence aboard an airplane…you really need to give it a go. I actually liked it better than BIOSHINF. However it does have some minor display issues like for some reason while looking around you might see a ghost halo effect on the left or right of some objects…the same happens in Mirror’s Edge but the 3D effects are so good they are easily ignorable. Ralf, if you are reading this…will you be customizing COD MW3 and Mirrors Edge at some point so that they will be as good as Bioshock Infinite without those ghost halo outlines appearing around some objects, or is that a problem with the particular game engine?
Hi, Im wondering if someone else has experinece how to set up CoD BO2?
I tried it yesterday and it worked, but may there are bette settings:
Vignette scale: 0.80
Zoome: below 60 (otherwise I can’t see the mini map)
vorpX 2D FOV Enhancement: max (cause only FOV 85 is pissible ingame)
3D Mode: Z-Buffer 3D (I don’t think cod bo2 supports geometry 3D
What do you think?
Hi, I just started with my DK2 for the first time and tryed Call of Duty and Skyrim but I always have 2 “pictures” when I look though the rift.
Can someone tell my what I’m doing wrong? I tried the past x hours to get it work, but still those two seperate pictures/screens when I start one of these games.
Please for some help – thx
Some of the older COD titles use OpenGL instead of DirectX AFAIK, which isn’t supported by vorpX currently. I’m not sure when they switched to DirectX, but that might be the issue here.
I’d like to play Call of Duty World At War and Call of Duty 4 and older titles with the VorpX driver (However, I can’t quite exactly get it working) Am I doing something wrong? I can get every other game/Call of Duty working just fine just nothing before Black Ops 1 (and its extremely annoying)
How can I get it working? I’d really like to do a call of Duty marathon with the rift.
Edit : I don’t really see what the problem is, if I can get MW2+ working, I should be able to get the older titles working as well >_<
didnt work latest patch with DX11 and DX9
Win7 64, just spotted I’m not on the latest patch downloading now and will let you know, thanks for the help :)
Just tried here twenty times in a row with the latest COD patch to make sure that didn’t change anything. Not a single failure.
Just to be sure: Did you try some basic trouble shooting stuff: rebooting Windows, reinstalling vorpX, disabling virus scanner/steam overlay etc.? Not sure whether that really helps of course, but it’s always worth a try.
Also: What OS are you on? That might also have an influence (although it shouldn’t in most cases).
