I have a Reverb but have not seen the Vive Pro (have an original vive). As much as I love my Reverb, you may be disappointed with the vibrancy of the colors vs the pro (from what I hear). I did get the Reverb for vorpx (and Netflix) because of the resolution bump and increased comfort, but you get halfway there with the pro with the benefit of rich colors. If you go to Reverb, for vr titles, you lose the sbility for wireless and playing in the dark with perfect tracking. I can’t tell you what to do, but I personally would be hesitant because not sure the change will knock your socks off (but from the original vive without the DAS, it was a no-brained for me). Hopefully, someone with a pro and a Reverb can chime in. Sorry if this was useless commentary…

Is there anyone here that is mod savvy and knows if we might be seeing a 1st person mod for this one? played the 1st person mod of sekiro with vorpx and it was awesome – id just like to know if anyone knows if a mod like that is in the works or even doable with this game… cause that could be rad.

worked better in sekiro than in dark souls 3. sekiro you could lock onto enemies and the ‘lock on’ in dark souls 3 sent the camera crazy with the mod that i played and so it basically forced you to do a 2 handed build without locking on and just aiming with stick and face with sword and roll and swing away, but it works if anyone wants to look up that mod and is a dark souls fan.. it makes you go 2 handed melee cause the lock on break eliminates your ability to use shields realistically and magic without the targeter going crazy… so just have to play a madman rolling (camera doesnt roll/flip when you ‘roll’ in game, it does a slight animation of your speed increasing in the direction, with a very light camera bob, not particularly nausea inducing for me, but could be for others)

But ya, if anyone knows if this is moddable and a 1st person mod is being discussed thatd be cool to know :) If you were gonna try one or the other in 1st person vr, sekiro pretty much works but as intended, dark souls 3 gets messier when it comes to camera, but, playable

The controller trackpad/stick can be used in conjunction/collaboration with cybershoes (both native vr games and Vorpx). So long as you select Trackpad or Trackpad – default in the cybershoes configuration, the shoes will automatically move you in the direction where the shoes are pointing relative to the HMD – what this means is you strafe by turning your hips into the direction you wish to strafe (essentially how humans strafe in real life, as we rarely take steps sideways).

Right now my setup is just the concave base in the middle of my vr room with a pulley system in the drop down ceiling for cable management. I’ll see if I can setup a public drop location for some photos, however the base I build is almost completely copied from this youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oi5DU2JfRhU), I even built the same original harness (but since removed it).

I actually don’t have a dedicated cybershoes chair at all – I committed from the outset that I would get it to work standing. However if the standing simply couldnt’ work, I was planning on using the included hydraulic lift that comes with the shoes and a bicycle seat attached to my concave base (so flush with the “ground”)

Your idea for the concave platform plus chair would work, although in that case I would simple recommend simply drilling a hole into the concave base for the hydraulic lift as mentioned above.

Thanks for the dark souls info, I have the first so might try it out.

    Cheers

Thanks for the setup tips erised, that stuff is really handy to know. Can you strafe in any way by mapping buttons to controllers (+ is there a way to use controllers instead of the keyboard when you use cybershoes?) It’d be great to see some pics uploaded of your setup onto a google drive or onto IMGUR. The chair you have, is it flat based or one of the cheaper ones with a raised base?

If the concave platform works well an idea would be to suspend the concave platform by making a kind of pallet so that the base of the chair can rest underneath giving a flat ground directly underneath the feet. Is your harness a pole which is attached to the ceiling?

I also forgot to add that the Dark souls VR mod works for Dark souls 1, 2 and 3 if you have any of those versions of the game (or if its cheaper to buy them now probably $5-10 vs $20-40).

Since the “Outer Worlds” official profile G3D has not been working on my end. Using a Samsung Odyssey+. z3d is working, but G3D not. I’m seeing the sky in one eye and dark shadowy images in the left eye. I restarted the game after adjusting the 3d effect to G3d, but the issue persisted. Restarted the game 3 consequently but no dice. Any advice?

I gotta recommend, if youre a fan – theres a first person cheat engine mod for Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro – both games run great in vorpx and you can legit have a 1st person combat souls experience… its been my best time with the program was definitely going thru dark souls 3 in VR first person.

Problem is – you basically need to play a rolling 2 handed character cause the camera cheat to make it work in 1st person goes crazy if you use “lock on”… so you gotta learn to get around that.

I noticed youre playing cinema mode, but when you get to playing 1st person games in full VR mode, you may run into situations where parts of menu/hud may be off screen a little bit. Ralf was smart enough to make “edge peek”, which lets you basically, in ‘down time’ scenarios (like leveling up a character or going thru menus, checking your stats, etc), just tap “P” on your keyboard for edgepeek.

If youve got a ps4 controller the best way to utilize this is with the track pad in the middle set it to two buttons – Delete (brings up vorpx in game menu) and P (edge peek)… so you dont have to take your headset off to see hud elements or menus, just have edge peek mapped to your ps4 controllers middle touch pad and you can pop in and out of edge peek to view HUD if the game’s hud wasnt scalable for vorpx.

just wanted to give you some advice on how to use it for 1st person games.

enjoy! sekiro and dark souls 3 are rad in 1st person with vorpx tho!

You can map your ps4 controller to do this per game in steams controller configuration menu

Does this work well on Dark Souls 3 using the VR mod, or on Mordhau erised? Thanks

Using the first person mod, I played Dark Souls 3 in VR with the Oculus Rift.

I couldn’t get the head tracking with Conarium, but was able to with Conan Exiles. The graphics aren’t looking great though and it’s very sluggish. This is the epic stores version. Instead of using the TheOuterworlds.exe I had to use the file that is in the Indiana folder (Indiana something .exe)

keyboard still broke so sorry for short response ..

did you try launching with keyboard/mouse – no gamepad? if that fixes tracking issue then you just need to find a program that tricks pc into taking controller inputs as mouse keyboard actions. steam supports this out of the box with steam controller config, i just tested and you can put epic game launcher in steam – if keyboard mouse fixed ur issues, right click epic game launch in steam, controller needs to be plugged in -go to browse configs – templates and select wasd and mouse – apply configuration. launch epic from steam thinking u on keyboard mouse – then just make control adjustments in game or in steam controller App to replicate games unique controls, youll just have to fiddle with that

for better performance i cant help much cause of stores – but when you launch have task manager open, right click that indiana file – click details – right click it again and try setting to realtime, if that doesnt work, try high 2nd time

obviously reboot game before doing these in sequence.. but im in dark for you with egs sorry . hope that helps

tthe conariumm profile seems to work for 99% of people.. make sure to include directvr settings when importing.

    if outerworlds.exe wouldnt connect to vorpx, do this trick;

Go to your desktop, just hit “Create new text document”.. Rename that document to TheOuterWorlds.exe (itll say itll create a corrupt file or whatever- doesnt matter, just make it)

make new profile for outerworldsbut direct it the fake .exe we just made – vorpx will attach even tho its a bullshit file just cause its on lookout for anything with that name

Thanks for our good man Ralf’s brilliance – this will make Vorpx look for ANY TheOuterWorlds.exe being launched – even the real one

    Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 (G3D/Z3D)

I’ve redone this old fullVR profile from a year ago with a few extra fixes. It can look quite stunning in places. I particularly like roaming around at night. The full body animations and derivable vehicles are a nice addition.

Mild FOV Enhancement still had to be used causing a bit of motion for light sources, but you can toggle most of them off with Shadow Treatment if desired. I’ve also raised the camera for more comfortable weapon placement, which you can also adjust as needed.

    – a 4:3 resolution is recommended (1920×1440) for better performance
    – medium settings recommended as tested
    – turn off motion blur
    – slide FOV to max right in game settings

*Hide HUD elements with Challenge difficulty settings
*Adjusting HUD scale may affect scope alignment
*Toggle lights and shadows with vorpX Shadow Treatment
*If using cinema mode, reduce vorpX FOV Enhancement to Zero

Sorry the shots have been so dark. You can right click them to enlarge view.

    vorpX 19.2.4 has been released.

This is a maintenance release with the below changes and fixes.

    New/Changed:

    • New D3D9 font renderer: fixes severe FPS degradation (up to 70%) during the first minutes (while the start hint is shown) with Half-Life 2, Portal, The Darkness II and possibly other D3D9 games.
    • Improved D3D11 G3D heuristics (~30% G3D performance gain in Blair Witch).
    • Improved binary settings file support for the DirectVR settings optimizer.

    Bugfixes:

    • G3D camera height modifier should now always work again without positional tracking. Please note that the setting may behave different with/without positional tracking enabled in some cases.
    • Settings for official profiles could not be uploaded anymore in the config app.
    • Final headset render target size re-evaluated when the game resolution changes. Fixes low render target size in games that open a small window on start before switching to full res.

    New Game Profiles:

    • Blair Witch: G3D/Z3D, FullVR, scalable 3D HUD, DirectVR: FOV, resolution, tracking.

I accidentally started GTA Online with vorpX running in the background. Now I have this dark rim in first person view. How do I get rid of that? Can I somehow revert all changes that vorpX made? I don’t want to get banned for using modified game files.

    I play Dark souls 3 with Z-NORMAL.
The resolution is one above the lowest. Graphic settings are minimal. Window mode.
Anyway, it crashes frequently. There is little time to play properly.
Is there a way to improve it?

    PC specs.
    GTX1060 WINDOWS10.
