    OK folks, here’s the deal on ENBoost. It works. It’s stable. It does a couple strange things like flashing out to the ‘grid room’ and back on rare occasion for no reason I can yet determine. And it helped me get a majority of 45FPS at 1920×1440…but I had to back off some things to get there. However, the increased rez helps a lot.

    First, Upscaling had to come down to 1.2. AA and Anio set at x4 and x8 respectively. Ambient occlusion off.

    I had tried upping my 4790K to 4.8Ghz which helped very noticeably, but it became unstable and BSOD/clock errored so back to 4.7. As I am currently on a single 110mm AIO cooler that has thusfar been a champ, the 10 deg jump wasn’t shocking getting this close to the edge…but there is no way to up the voltage to try stabilizing 4.8 and keep it cool enough as is. A 240mm rad might be enough to do it with good fans or push/pull/both.

    It seems the key to smoothness is keeping that GPU clock stable at all costs. So Liquid cooling will be in my future whether or not it helps ultimate top speed.

    The higher supersampling settings/AA/Ansio induce stuttering. Not 100% sure the definitive source of that as I am forcing AA/Ansio in the drivers, not skyrim and the CPU/GPU is still far from maxing out…at least as far as Afterburner is reporting. Could/likely be a CPU bind on I/O. VorpX itself shouldn’t really care one way or the other if I understand its functionality correctly. However, getting this far at all, and the level of improvement so far are about 1000 times more that I think anyone could have imagined anyway.

    Oh right of course it needs to be Directx9.

    After downloading http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/index.htm and setting to DX9, I got Deus ex to work, anyone any tips on how to move the hud so I can see it?

    As of me posting this.. vorpX DOES NOT officially support the DK2.. this is just a way to make it work.. This also works for other games that support TrackIR..

    How I go this working…
    To be clear this does require that you purchase vorpX and I don’t want to come off like im selling it… There is a similar free app but I couldn’t it working..
    vorpX does not officially support the DK2 yet which means its somewhat buggy….
    So buy it at your own risk… It works for me but may not work for you…

    Some problems…
    Apps do not work – they did at first.. i think — Oddly my app works minus the menus… (works very well on the rift too)
    AI does not work… I tested 1 AI – 50 AI… the game crashes trying to load the first AI car..
    99.8% sure these are vorpX issues..

    My setup…
    DK2 = Extended Desktop with the rift being the primary monitor
    Launch AC — Set RES to 1920×1080 74/75hz
    Launch vorpX – (It has crashed a few times.. just keep launching it..)
    open the vorpX control panel form the system tray and change some settings
    Display/Monitor drop down is set to system default
    Oculus Profile is set to Do not use a profile (use the ingame app to set your IPD and vignette) (remember your IPD for later..)
    everything else leave unchecked.

    TrackIR I changed the tracking to (one : one) and as always I disabled the XYZ axis because AC still has issues with those getting stuck..
    Freetrack might work..

    When you launch the game you will receive an error about tracking… even though its off.. just hit enter..
    Once in the game hit DEL and start changing the vorpX settings… IPD calibration tool is on the second page/tab.. this is the best way to calibrate your eyes..

    If you need to edit something and you haven’t figured out how to look at the desktop cross-eyed.. just hit the power button on top of your DK2.. This will throw everything back on your main screen.. When you’re done turn the DK2 back on you’re ready to go…

    Seems kinda easy reading over this but it was a pain in the butt at first… Let just say I can see very well cross-eyed now…
