I had that issue a while back in Fallout 4 (mouse only accessing a smaller screen within the screen that we see).

Was caused and/or fixed by changing settings in the Nvidia control panel under “adjust desktop size and position”.

Try “restore settings” to default or changing “perform scaling on:” GPU / Display.
Some combination of those worked, might just need to restore it to default if it was changed.

    Good evening –

Whatever help I could get would be greatly appreciated. I am running a heavily modded Fallout 4: FROST build with the latest and greatest version of VORPX. There are several issues.

    1. VORPX hooks into Fallout 4 just fine
    2. The Edge Peek does not work – I have assigned it to multiple keys, mouse buttons – no dice.
    3. The VORPX In game menu does not work – I have assigned it to multiple keys, mouse buttons – no dice.
    4. The right eye on my Oculus 3 does not work. I have run it with Oculus air link as well as set it for a generic headset, a STEAM configuration with Virtual Desktop – no dice.
    5. The left eye works fine
    6. Even with the FOV set in the INI file to 100, 110, 112, 120, 125 – nothing changes. It is zoomed in so far that it is unplayable
    7. In troubleshooting I have:
    a. Removed the Fallout4 Upscaler
    b. Removed Shadow Boost
    C. Turned of all NVIDIA upscaling, sharpening, etc.
    d. Set the resolution options to all manner of different things – it makes no difference.

Any ideas you may have would be great!

    THanks

VorpX 21.3.5 had broken Geometric 3D for Fallout 76 so I updated to beta 24.1.0 and I cleared out the settings, and launched F76 and it seems to hook on just fine but its not sending the image to the VR headset which is strange, 21.3.5 worked excellent but now its not working anymore.

No idea what to do, I use HTC Cosmos, everything is up to date, SteamVR launches just fine, I can even do the new desktop viewer with my ancient very mediocre VR headset and it displays, soon as I launch F76 it wont display them at all, I see the game on my monitor though.

    PC Specs:
    Ryzen 5800X3D
    Radeon RX 6950XT

I bought the ultimate edition on steam and installed it without mods. Profile hooks and it is very well playable.

Basically all works, but I want to use the controller instead of mouse and keyboard. XBOX controller already works, but has only partially the keys mapped. In VorPx menu I changed to controller and there were also options for the controller and I changed it the way it uses just the controller ( I dont remember how those options were named).

This also works, but head tracking then stopps. I can play on immersive screen and this is already playable, but I really want Full VR and head tracking. Head tracking before worked, only after I changed the controller configuration in the VorPX menu it was gone. How can I get this back?

VLC is a video player app.

If you encounter frequent hooking issues with games that are known to work normally, there almost certainly is something running on your PC that also hooks into games and thus creates a conflict with vorpX.

Try to disable EVERYTHING you may have running in the background. Especially any GPU/CPU utilities, any gaming related tools, messengers, screen recording apps, PC vendor bloatware etc. Ideally don’t have anything running in the background that wouldn’t be there after a fresh, clean Windows install.

The trouble shooting guide on top of this sub forum has more details on the matter.

It’s odd because I spend hours disabling everything and troubleshooting fallout NV until you recommended I download the beta. That instantly worked because the other version would not prompt me for dx9 at all.

I’m running that same beta here and it’s very similar, crash at start.

I sent you a zip file if you have a moment to investigate. Could it be the beta version I’m own? I know this is the first modern-ish game I’ve attempted to run.

I can’t make sense of the desktops resolution vs the game.

Any desktop resolution of 1440p caused Fallout NV to crash when running directvr scan.

    I switched it to:

    1920 x 1080 landscape, 100%

This looked great and directvr scan worked!

Now I boot up the game and it’s a mess of pixels and I can’t figure out why. Vorpx auto resolution is off.

I’ve tried 4:3, 16:9/10 and most every combination possible and all of them look like a psvr1 game. Resolution is set to great.

I’m brand new to Vorpx but I couldn’t get it to hook with alternative hooking methods or normally.
A pop up appears after waiting 5 minutes. I’ve tried all options. If I try the “install alternate hooking method” the game crashes on startup afterwards each time.

After a game update in May 2023 the Geometry 3D rendering stopped working.
I’ve reset all VorpX and game settings to defaults and updated VorpX with no change.
Z-Normal still works, so VorpX is hooking the game properly.

When enabled, some lighting and effects like transparent glass shift to weird positions onscreen but not aligned to the scenery. Objects and terrain are all flat, with no 3D conversion being done.

It seems like some shader definitions must have changed IDs or structure and are no longer compatible with the profile. It looks like shaders which should be providing the object shapes aren’t being processed, while other shaders are being processed as the wrong type of shader.

Something similar happened back in 2019(ish) and after the September 2022 update, but these were fixed after later VorpX updates. There is a note from Ralf earlier in the forums mentioning shaders needing to be updated to fix those problems.

Any chance of an update coming for this game to work again?
Or has anyone managed to figure out how to fix the shaders?

Fallout 4 VR with Gingas VR mod and Wabbajack was extremely easy to install. It took time to set up but looked fantastic. You just follow the guide and video to the letter and it works. I played it a couple of year ago. You need the regular Fallout 4 and the DLCs to get it to work. I think there has been a few recent upgrades to the mods and added into wabbajack so it should be even better.
I find standing much more immersive, though I loved games like bioshock series and metro series using Vorpx and an Xbox controller sitting downs so I can imagine using Fallout 4 and Vorpx will be pretty neat as well, especially with graphics mods.

I spent the last few days tweaking Fallout 4 VR to get the best possible visual result in my Pimax 8KX. However, despite HD texture mods, and fRenderTargetSizeMultiplier = 1.5 and Adaptive sharpening mod, the image always remained a bit blurry and pixelated. After a few hours I tried flat Fallout 4 with vorpx. Resolution set to phneomenal and baaam. The clarity and sharpness compared to the VR version is stunning.
If you prefer a clear image in front of motion controller, you should use vorpx.

I think the Game Settings sub forum is the best place for posts like that. Just create a new one when the profile is ready. Won’t take long anymore.

    BTW:

Personally I really like the game, at least the bits I saw so far. Judging from the player count on Steam Starfield isn’t quite the success that everyone hoped it would be though. Way less max players than Fallout 4 when it came out 2015. Only about a third of what super hits like Cyberpunk or Elden Ring recently had on launch. Heck, even Hogwart’s Legacy fared a lot better earlier this year, who would have predicted that…

Even considering a fair amount of extra players via Gamepass that doesn’t look too great for a huge Bethesda RPG in 2023. Still a title that deserves some extra attention, of course.

On the upside: at least that way they won’t get funny ideas about a Starfield 2 before returning to Elder Scrolls. :)

You must download flawless widescreen . This program allow you that set any fov. Viewmodel , ship , world

Looks like it does exactly the same as the mod I mentioned does. But I suspect that the mod also resets it after a dialog etc. Anyway, why use extra software when there’s a mod?

I downloaded the game a week ago but haven’t opened it yet, waiting on full vr

I’m also eagerly waiting for an official mod, but you can try my profile, based on Alpha v2 – it’s pretty playable. Only disable the gamepad override, I think it works better that way for the ships. Also, if you are using joystick like I am, program the emulator for cross-controls: so joystick controls proper roll and pitch – they are on separate thumbstick on the gamepad, and pitch should be reversed (in-game menu option or inside emulator). And throttle and yaw should be programmed on proper axes too. That way ship combat is much better than when joystick emulates gamepad normally.

Official profile might have lower latency, and other nice-to-haves, but it’s quite well and playable as it is, full VR with gestures, so the beginning is slow and long anyway, and it’s really not bad. BTW not sure what people were complaining about – slow beginning, boring game and all. It’s basically exactly like Fallout/Skyrim in space with very nice graphics and cool hard sci-fi aesthetics. It plays exactly like that. All the clunkyness is the same as with the older Bethesda games. But nobody does a better job in this gameplay style, which is my favored. I only wish there would be native VR support, atmospheric flight, manual landings and docking and generally more believable space simulator dynamics. And of course less loading screens – game could check if there is enough RAM/VRAM available and preload the next zone in the background…

Yes, you are right. That’s on my to do list, i have to figure out to change the font of the UI. In Skyrim and Fallout was it possible to change that.

If you find it on google, and fix it for your own please share it with us here !

You’ll be happy, because most of the official profiles released for other games in the past will match all your questions. Have patience and wait for support of the Developer of Vorpx, he is called Ralf, he will post the details of his official profile here i that forum. You worry too much, Vorpx is the right thing for you, you will have fun with Vorpx and Starfield !

Yeah a guy who built a motion cockpit definitely is someone would most likely enjoy VorpX.

I’ve played/play Fallout New Vegas, Rocket League, Cyberpunk 2077 (before the dedicated VR mod) and Final Fantasy 7 Remake completely in VR using VorpX. It’s a great tool for hobbyists and stereo-heads.

Unfortunately I haven’t played Starfield yet, and it sounds like my PC is going to need an upgrade for it.

Bethesda games are entirely different for me to what normies experience.

I wont play the game for a while until there are enough mods, and hopefully vorpx will work fine with it until someone makes a real vr mod.

Though I agree flat vanilla bethesda games are boring, I can’t imagine playing vanilla skyrim or fallout 4, this will be no different for me.

But once properly modded it will be one of the best games ever made.
