@Oliiiiive – thanks, I will try that again. I also had installed and have removed the FOV mod that comes with the GTA5 VR mod – are there any other files/settings that you had to remove other than what is inside the GTA5 directory?
@Ralf – oh alright, I didn’t know that. I wanted to completely delete all registry entries for VorpX since I’m at the scorched-earth point of troubleshooting this issue… as far as I know, there’s not an option to keep registration while removing the other keys. But thanks for the tip. I will try launching in G3D, but I’ve done that before with no dice. Again, SOME part of G3D is working, as trees and car wheels are rendered in 3D, while the rest of the scene is 2D. Super weird.
Actually it’s not manual normally. Since you requested a key for a request code that you already have the key for, the system did not answer your mail automatically though. You could simply have used the key that you already received, or – even easier – have kept the license information when you uninstalled vorpX. There is an according prompt shown.
Regarding your issue: there is an odd glitch where G3D sometimes just not works in GTA V for unknown reasons. Make sure that G3D is already enabled when your start the game, doing so reduces the chance of that happening greatly.
Hi,
i think your 3d stength is simply too high in the vorpx settings.
First time i’ve launched GTA5 in geo3d i had the same problems as you, for example the palm were popping out the image. I did 2 things , removed my Fov Mod and decreased 3d strength and now the 3d effect is perfect and way better than z buffer.
I hope that helps you
I’ve now also completely reinstalled GTA5 from scratch with no luck restoring geometry 3D. I also reinstalled VorpX but am waiting on a new activation code…frustrating that this is still a manual process after all this time.
I never had it. When I tried it last week the geometry never did really kick in. Z3d was much better when i tried it. Maybe the same issue, hopefully. I would like to see geometry in GTA5 but so far i get nothing. Admittedly I didn’t mess around with resets and all as you did so maybe I just have to work a little harder to get it to work on my system.
I am buying a new i7 7700 and gtx 1080 ti system and would love to be able to use gta in geometry with that.
omg thank you so much Ralf for this amazing update 😀
re7 in G3D, my dream comes true.
GTA5 in g3D another of my dream comes true.
and all other games support & improvements are also greatness.
time to get some VR fun now 😀
Is there some trick to getting GTA V working? I just tried playing with the new 17.2 vorpx update, however I’m getting a ‘Direct Vr failed’ error while the game is booting and going through the company info text screens.
When I get in game the Alt-L DirectVR button combo doesn’t do anything, however the Alt-Space re-center seems to work.
Am I missing something?
I am a psvr user here also. Kinda new but was surpised at how well gta runs. Few issues i have tho are mapping the controls on the move controllers. I keep accidentally clicked off gta with the move mouse somehow.
Also I like playing Rocket league in 3d but for some reason mine goes off after around 30 mins i’m thinking its a trinius psvr issue But i am still not sure what it is exactly could be a fault of vorpx or something.
My question to you is do you on async? i have it on but in the steamvr settings it says its off for some reason.
I have set the psvr to display 120fps via custom res and my gta5 runs at 45 fps while i have Rl at 90 fps with fluid sync off. I really have no idea what settings are best…not many options for the psvr
Hey Ralf, just played GTA5 using G3D looks fantastic but when I get in a vehicle it looks off like I’m in a miniature car everything seems small tried FOV mod and the direct VR but I can’t find the right size any suggests? thanks Ralf great update BTW

Hi all,
Been a while since I’ve been posting. Been doing more playing than talking for a change.
Some may remember a few months back, I did a post/series of posts on Skyrim and the Titan XP. My system consisted of the Titan, a 4790k clocked to 4.8ghz and 2400 mhz ram fed by SSD’s in Raid0 and I was able to mod Oldrim pretty extensively and get playable performance at high resolutions.
Finally I have been able to upgrade to a Kaby Lake 7700K which I have clocked to 5ghz on a Z170 Maximus with the normal bios upgrade (for Kaby) and am running 4266mhz TridentZ ram. Although I haven’t spent time getting hard numbers, I wanted to pass on some of my experiences and conclusions thus far.
First of all, there has been a metric ton of blather about Kaby and how it’s just a higher clocked Skylake. And that is true. However, what all the tech guys seemed to have missed out on is that Kaby’s memory controller can handle some seriously stupid fast ram. And guess what benefits VR/VorpX better than anything I have yet found? Fast ram.
I noticed a significant boost to performance running Skyrim under VorpX back when I did the Titan posts, moving from 1600/1866 DDR3 to 2400Mhz DDR3. Outside of VR, the increase holds as well and Digital Foundry and others verified that open world games like Fallout/Witcher/Skyrim/GTA do in fact see serious benefit that scales as speed goes up. The old wisdom no longer applies at least in open world games. Those textures moving in and out benefit from faster ram speed.
Since going to my new setup, I have been able to shut off fluid sync and no longer have stutter/’flashback’ issues when doing it at 1920×1440 and 1.4 SS. Framerates stay mostly above 45 with a 100 mod loadout and gameplay is smooth. This was impossible before.
So basically, I just wanted to let you all know that yes, faster ram is a good thing. Run the fastest your CPU/motherboard can handle and you WILL have a more enjoyable experience. Oh…and the added 200 mhz on the clock is nothing to sneeze at either and only benefits the process as Sky/Fallout are CPU bound and clock sensitive games to begin with.
Yeah dude if it doesent work change the title I almost impulse bought the game simply because having past over this posts title I thought 3D was a certain thing.
To be honest I still play Hitman and doom on cinema screen and find it way more immersive and better than a normal monitor but I think I’ll wait now as I have a huge christmas backlog.
Geometry isnt the be all and end all for me as GTA 5 looks amazing without it but that does still have genuine 3D options.
When playing the game in Vorpx and pressing options (delete) what are the exact 3D settings you are choosing? Is 3D acceleration set to on or off?
Hi,
I encounter the same issue with the same HMD playing ARMA3 or GTAV with Vorpx.
But i also have this issue with DIRT RALLYE without Vorpx so may be it’s due to Oculus’s drivers.
hi, actually i havent been playing the game as intended mostly i relax in exploring the games world because skyrim witcher bioshock infinite and even gta5 look so fantastic in 3d . Game play is to me an option but mostly i enjoy the free modes…
Hahah THX
GTA V: Please go to the “Mouse/Gamepad Settings” page in the vorpX ingame menu and set the “Xbox 360 Gamepad Override” to “Full”. The default “Partial” is supposed to be correct for the game, but apparently there is some issue with current vorpX version that causes your problem with that.
BF4 (and other Frostbite games): Another issue with the current vorpX release, sorry. No immediate solution, but it will be looked into with high priority next week. A hotfix will be made available as soon as it is solved.

You may also want to check to out this mod. It works together with vorpX, but can provide better head tracking than vorpX alone in GTA V.
The mod is abit complicated to install, so make sure to follow the instructions of the author crafully! The end result is worth it.
