True. I’ve figure it out after posting. Sorry for bothering. Rookie mistake. Last but not least many thanks for quick answer and help. Btw any chance to improve resolution in SkyrimLE+Samsung Oddysey? Next question about ENB (hack only, no visual effects). Questions, question :)
Kind request for your advice how to get Samsung HMD works with vorpx and Skyrim LE.
I have tried following previous posts:
1. Started WMR (house by the sea, etc)
2. Started SteamVR (no Vive discovered, nothing discovered by SteamVR)
3. Started Vorpx – SteamVR mode
4. Started Skyrim – vorpx is activated – picture is splitted on the screen – nothing is happening in HMD(house by the sea – I hear Genesis song every time I write it down).
Thank you in advance for any help.
Best Regards,
AM
The HUD elements in Skyrim explitely are not supposed to be centered on the image like when you play mono on your monitor – as already said in my answer above they have stereo depth with vorpX. Creating stereo depth for HUD elements works by shifting the HUD inwards.
That is how it is supposed to be, it’s actually the very basic principle of stereo rendering.
Ok this isn’t my image, but it demonstrates the exact problem I’m seeing in Skyrim. Note the UI bar at the top of the page. If I measure the pixels from each tip to the top of the page, it’s much closer to the top of the page on the right side. The left side is something like ~117 pixels, the right side is like ~99 pixels

Now, if we look at a regular game screenshot, that UI bar is exactly in the center of the screen, which makes sense as a UI element.

Which camera is identical to the game camera? The right eye camera or the left eye? They both look off-center in the first screenshot, but I’m not sure what you mean about asymmetric rendering of a frustum. Shouldn’t the frustum be centered between the user’s eyes?
I guess this isn’t a great example because the user’s head could be tilted, but it should be the same distance to the edge of vision
Hello, I have an issue when using DirectVR where the virtual screen is about 1/8 screen too high, and 1/5 screen too far to the right. It’s relatively subtle, but makes the games unplayable (tried Skyrim and Chivalry Medieval Warfare).
The easiest repro is to zoom all the way out with Shift+Zoom and notice the screen is just literally not centered.
Since the screen is fixed to goggles / camera position, I’m perpetually looking at a skewed plane and there’s no way to get it “flat” and un-tilted (very frustrating and headache-inducing). I’ve tried Alt+Space in lots of places, and successfully ran the “scan” with Alt+L, but nothing has fixed it, and I’m giving up for the night. I don’t have an issue with regular SteamVR games so I know it’s not the headset / mounting on my head. VorpX is attaching the virtual screen in an off-center position!!
Any help is appreciated

Skyrim is still one of the more popular titles with vorpX, whether your individual mod setup will work 1:1 with vorpX is hard to tell though. Most mods will work fine, but some, e.g. ENB graphics mods, can interfere since they hook into the rendering pipeline like vorpX, which can cause conflicts. Others may not play well together with specific parts of vorpX, e.g camera mods can interfere with vorpX’s camera handling via Direct VR.
Long story short: you might have to do without one or the other mod, but most will work without issues.
One more general thing to consider is that the original Skyrim is usually the better choice for vorpX. It usually runs better and, just as important, can utilize actual, real antialising. So if you have access to both, there’s not much reason to use the SE in most cases.
I have in my cart now one $39.95 VorpX with the option to use PayPal and I’m so close to pushing it but some of the reviews and comments here give me pause.
I have an HTC Vive setup with a machine exclusively made for VR using an Nvidia card (1060? 1080?) and I forget all the details at the moment. I may boot it up later and get the system specs and add them. For now, let’s just say that it runs everything I’ve thrown at it so far.
I bought Skyrim SE about two months ago, have 216 active mods, use Nexus Mod Manager, and run all this on a laptop. I don’t have any graphics enhancements as the laptop gets sluggish with them. Most of them are new NPCs (most I will be removing), new buildings, weapons, spells, and other odds and ends.
I don’t have ENC. I do have SKSE64, FNIS, SkyUI, and I think that’s all that alters the core esm files if they even do that.
I’ve read that some people complain that Skyrim SE has a fogging issue, menus chopping off, and other nagging problems that make me hesitate to purchase.
How does it fare now? Are these simply settings? I don’t mind getting my hands dirty by having to tweak things. Computers have been my hobby and profession for forty years. (Darn I’m getting old.) I would really like to see this game in VR and don’t want to buy a console or wait until December for the supposed Skyrim VR to come out for PCs.
Thanks
There was indeed a glitch in the last update causing this, fixed 10 secs. ago. Please either reinstall vorpX or download the Skyrim SE profile from the cloud, which should suffice.
The positional scan is still a bit unreliable and sometimes only finds one of the two values it is supposed to find, but that was always the case. So it might still report success sometimes and not work despite that. Trying two or three times usually helps.
BTW: Unless you want to walk around, the positional scan is not really necessary. For seated playing or standing without walking the normal positional tracking works just as well.
…. That said, I also have Skyrim visually modded with about 16 mods to further increase visual fidelity ….. Btw, there is a mod for the gigantic hands. I don’t use it myself…I just got use to the gigantic hands.
If you still play could you provide a mod list please? main issue im having is menu related, it looks/feels so HUGE to me. I’m also a new VorpX user and just getting my feet wet with the technology.
Is something changed with 18.1.2 Direct VR positional tracking from previous version? When I turn the feature on (Skyrim SE modded with SKSE) it always says _rotation_ scanning failed but position scanning is ok. When I turn positional movement off, rotation and fov scan are ok. As far as I can say, rotation works with both options as character turns when I turn my head. Positional tracking won’t work at all even VorpX says it succeeds.
I think this worked on 18.1.1 as I played the game few days ago. I rebooted the system few times and installed latest NVIDIA driver 390.77 but to no avail.
I found this game to be very poor in VorpX.
There is no Direct VR scan so I had to use the console command to set the FOV to 110 (Otherwise it just stayed at the default 75)
No shadows S-3D. With the FOV set and shadows off it worked in G3D with reasonable separation, however head tracking is not great (I have still to tweak the rotation sensitivity). In the end I would say miles worse than Skyrim for me
HI ,
G3D is just a charm compared to Skyrim W3 Fo4.. it looks like 100% improvement to those games..just perfect.
i use the max settings from the main menu for fov. Switched off vorpx auto settings, and increased the fov in vorpx to 1.5.
But here a problem i play with xbox controller but that is akward. I guess i never get aquainted with the existing controller scheme,, any way to use xpadder or any other tool?
I just bought the physical edition for PC, which at the same time adds code for Steam, and download the game right now.
I’m doing a quick little test, with Vorpx and Oculus CV1.
So the first thing I’m going to do is introduce this essential mod to eliminate camera movements during the movement simulation (headbob), to help with nausea / motion sickness problems with the use of VR headset.
This is essential for a fairly decent experience with virtual reality.
KCD should/could include an option to disable this easily menu inside, but this is not the case.

In general terms, the content that I have seen with KCD seems very good to me, and finally some developers, dare to try some new and interesting things in the genre rpg first person.
It seems that optimization / performance needs a good push, however, is something that I feared from the start.
Something that I did not like at all is the way the dialogues develop.
I prefer something more oriented in real time face to face, like Skyrim with Vorpx.
Maintaining at least this as an option, would be a good start to make the first person more immersive, and at the same time, the developers get used to leaving the way prepared for possible adaptations with VR support in the future.
I will try to do everything possible to play this game with G3D in Oculus Cv1, if the results are fairly decent, otherwise, I would have no choice but to enjoy it on my projector or another screen of considerable size.
What resolutions and FOV are you testing with CV1? Any advice with this?
I must admit i am a hardcore skyrim fan since it was released a decade ago.
A few days ago a downloaded KCD und just yesterday i started playing.
I would not stop playing for four hours though , because graphics and specially environment ist just: PERFECT. In g3d KCD is the best game i ever played .
I am not talking about game features and modding, that has to be improved massively, and hopefully when the modding tool is released there will be a similar thing like bodyslide and cbbe bodies to customise the game.
But here i really have problems with playing the game using a xbox controller.
There is no remapping available and the mapping itself is just crap….
just one say….
Agreed with Ralf.
I find the stability of SE to be much higher, but it has this weird fog effect which seems like it’s between you and what you’re looking at. It isn’t just blurry, it’s worse – it’s like looking through a filter or something.
I have both versions and have gone back and forth between them at the same place and same time in the game world, and regular Skyrim just looks crisper and more real. Just load the mods you really want, and don’t go crazy with textures.
I have found – and this may just be me – that some of the crash fix mods for regular Skyrim seem to cause Direct VR to not work. So another reason to be selective in what mods you load.
All of the above said, regular Skyrim with VORPX is the best VR experience I’ve had, and it plays beautifully. Do hot key Edge Peek to something easy to reach to make the menus workable.
