    Hello Fredthehound
First, thanks for all the info collected in this thread.
I just did my first test with enb injector with success for the first time with Vorpx.
I am using windows 10/I7 overclocked about 4,200ghz,gtx 1080/8gb ram,
(Waiting for a new pc with i7 6700k, 16ram e.t.c. … by the end of this month).
but I have some doubts about this.

Find a steam thread from late 2014, where a user specifies that the maximum value allowed for enblocal.ini is 10,210 even after exceeding this value.
    [MEMORY]
    VideoMemorySizeMb =
This user has commented, that admits no greater value.
Are there any changes in this, at some point during these two years?now admits a higher value?

    Apart from the memory arrangements.
Got to try some preset-enb of the nexus website with success, without draining too many fps?

I am still very hesitant,if using enb injector only for memory arrays,
and on which texture packets to try, without affecting the performance too much.

For the moment,I’m still with the Skyrim dx9 version.

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to get Vorpx to work in Skyrim and it loads up fine etc, except the headtracking isnt working. when I move my vive around the display in game stays fixed. any one else have this issue before? Thanks for reading. Cheers.

That sounds great. I always thought pos tracking wasn’t possible for Z3D. If it works for Fallout 4 can we assume that it will also work for Skyrim SE?

i can vouch for vorpx on skyrim. to me, it does an excellent job with just the default optimization settings. if you got the hardware, you can crank the resolution up further and it will look even better. skyrim is a must play in vr :)

Hi Wrongtarget. Glad to hear of your success.
I am actually buying this software in the coming days JUST for skyrim.

I have read alot on the forums about it being a hassle to setup with vorpx to make it perfect.

So i am curious what settings you had to alter and what mods you had to use to make Skyrim optimal with Vorpx.

    Hi there,

I just wanted to drop by to say that I’m *very* pleased with VorpX so far.
After some of the negative feedback I’ve read on forum, I thought that I was going to be very disappointed when giving Skyrim a go.

Fortunately that wasn’t the case. After nailing the settings (and yes, this was a bit of a pain in the ass), I have to say the results are outstanding and me and my partner were pleasantly surprised with how immersive the results are for a third-party app.

Of course – it’s not perfect. To run in Geometry mode, I need to lower a lot of settings and no ENB, so Skyrim doesn’t look as beautiful it usually does on my PC. The trade-off is a completely different experience, and with things like the mod that makes Giants actually GIANT, it’s just fascinating :)

Thanks, Ralf! I’m curious to try other games now.

Thanks for the reply. . .I think I figured it out. First I disabled nearly all the background apps running. Got a DX9 conflict error. Then I removed the DX9 dll from the Skyrim folder and then the program was running through the HMD. Got the in game Vorpx menu open to tweak the settings and was off playing. I have to say, once the resolution gets better in the HMD, VR will be perfect. I was amazed at standing near the edge of a cliff and feeling the height of it. . . Thanks again.

The DX9 Skyrim profile won’t work since the Special Edition uses DX11.

There is a preliminary profile for the Special Edition that you can download from this post in the game settings sub forum.

Make sure to follow the instructions! It’s extremely important to run the included gamesettings.cmd, otherwise all you will see is a blurry mess.

    Hello

get yesterday my HTC Vive and install the program vorpX.

so i installed all and now i can’t play any game, that should be supported.

Mostly the same error massage: ‘Failed to initialize renderer’ like Skyrim

In Windows i have the recommend solution from 2160×1200 for my Vive, no other solution would work.

And in Skyrim i tried all 16:9 and 4:3 solutions, but nothing work…

Otherwise all Steam VR Games work perfect.

Still didn’t know what the problem is. :(

    Thanks for the reply Raif.
I do not expect roomscale support for the games. I’ll be pretty happy to play with my xbox controller as its good to know that Vorpx is optimized for the Vive headset as much as it is for the Rift.
Also, I hope this guide for Skyrim vorpx setup for the rift would work well for the Vive too- http://riftinfo.com/best-oculus-rift-skyrim-setup-you-will-find

I recently got my HTC Vive and I want to play primarily modded Skyrim/Skyrim SE and the Witcher 3 in VR.
Before I buy, just wanted to know the current state of Vorpx development support for Vive users as I see that its still in beta stage for it as compared to the Vorpx support for rift. There are as many vive users (>150,000 as per this vive game’s usage data http://steamspy.com/app/327140) as rift users if not more (twice as many vive(60%) users on steam compared to 30% for rift – Steam’s latest october survey – http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey) so I hope the devs do give proper supp for Vorpx Vive users.

Just wanted to make sure that if I buy ..I can be reassured that the vorpx supp will get better for vive users in future as I am a bit hesitant with all the confusion around vorpx support for vive users online.

    Thanks

You should be able to change the Diablo III HUD depth in the vorpX ingame menu like in all games with a scalable HUD. And of course you can disable 3D, which would be the equivalent to using a desktop capture program, but without the oddities of a 60Hz capture showing at 90fps in the headset.

Head tracking sensitivity has to be adjusted once per game in the vorpX ingame menu. Since this is handled relative to your individual mouse sensitivity, the default value often does not provide 1:1 tracking. You can (and should) compensate for that by changing the tracking sensitivity.

Menus that aren’t scalable are best used in EdgePeek mode, which you can activate by pressing the mouse wheel.

Skyrim does not really require a PC based on space alien tech if you are willing to trade some visual fidelity for the VR experience. You can’t really expect the game (and other demanding games) to run at high frame rates in Geometry 3D and full details on a minimum VR specs machine though, that is true. I think that goes without saying.

I am usually good at getting things running. I also build all my PCs so I know them in and out fairly well. But VR is a new thing and I am having problems. And I have read many posts on the same problem but I can not get things to work. Here is the deal. I got a DK2 on eBay. Just got it a few hours ago. I hunted around for drivers and runtimes, etc. If I run the new 1.3 Oculus app the HMD works and I can use their games and programs fine, however, Vorpx will not initialize any game. I can run the desktop but if I try and run Skyrim, or any other game I get the “vorpx could not initialize your oculus rift” error. All the YouTube tutorials made it seem so easy, and that was the whole reasoning behind me getting the Oculus, so I could VR my favorite games. Why am I having trouble? I do not use antivirus, I have an i74770K, and an Nvidia GTX970, MSI board, 16GB RAM, etc. Please help. . .Thanks for your time.
