    GRID 2 (G3D)

Use DX11 game only. Known issues: Some rare objects remain slightly off depth.

    – Dont use 3D-FOV Enhancement or Camera Height
    – If VorpX doesnt hook after game crash, reboot software or PC
    – Use “alternative hooking method”
    – Scalable HUD
    – Nice 3D
    – Profile available at the cloud

How good does the profile work for you ? Feedback much appreciated .

(I just got Vorpx and tried Grid but mine plays in a cinema screen and I tried another game and that also played in a cinema screen and I was starting to wonder if I had just wasted my money on this as I thought all games would play the same, also is Grid Racing Grid or Grid Autosport and also what is G3D?)

TRUE G3D only works with some games. “Racing Grid” Yes. “Grid Autosport” No.

Here is a short list > Racing grid/Dirt3 and (Dirt 2 if you force DX9). These are great fun and the true G3D is great and makes better control of your car possible because of the better depth perception.

Grid Autosport just plays on the cinema screen(No G3D) and off comes the Oculus.

Full VR only on a few games and is Poor compare to true Full VR. More later.

If G3D is working it will look “simply put” like a 3D movie on a big screen.
If it is not working or you have the wrong mode it will usually look like a regular movie screen with no 3d. This is pointless IMO since the resolution is lower than many monitors.

If you go into the game and have Vorpx loaded and see the Vorpx logo at the bottom of the screen hit the Del key on the KB. You will be in the VorpX console and able to see what mode you are in on the first screen you come to. If you switch modes and the G3D view are not a selectable option than you can do nothing to change that. You can select Full VR at the top but if it is not a working option you will know since it will lock the screen view until you select something else.

Full VR is available in some games if you have head tracking working.

I used it in FSX flight sim and it worked. Turned on “mouse look” and it worked too for head tracking. You plane looked like a toy and the head tracking was not precise. The surrounding area looked pretty good, although turning your head made me a little nauseous. Compare this to Flyinside for FSX and there is not comparing the two. Keep in mind that Flyinside is $40 for just one program. But the experience is amazing. Perfect 360 environment. Plane and world to scale. You can stick you head out the window and look at your wheels.

Buy Vorpx for the games you want and can play in G3D on the cinema screen. This is mainly what I use it for and it is worth the cost. G3D in these programs are in “some ways” almost as good as Full VR. Different but excellent

Buy VorpX if you need Full VR for the games that will work with it and you have your expectation dialed down.

Do not expect FSX/Flyinside like experience or a Dirt Rally with native VR support(Flawless experience). Or Assetto Corsa with native Oculus support (mind blowing)

It is hard to find the information needed for many games but you need to keep digging. It is usually out there to find between YouTube and Google searches.

Sounds like it could be a memory issue. 32bit programs can only address so much RAM on both your CPU and GPU. With RAM consuming mods (e.g. HD texture packs) or even just certain .ini tweaks (e.g. uGridsToLoad) you may push the game over the edge with vorpX in the mix since it requires a considerable amount of CPU and GPU RAM on its own.

First try to remove obvious candidates like huge texture/model packs. Many texture packs have a less resource heavy version, so with some luck you don’t even have to remove one you are particularly fond of completely but can instead switch to a lower res version. If that does not help, the best way is to start from scratch in regard to mods and then just add the ones that you consider absolutely indispensable.

Also try to delete/rename your SkyrimPrefs.ini in case you made changes to it before. The game will create a new one when you start it next time.

If you experience this with just SKSE and no mods installed, please also try without SKSE.

Thanks, I sorted Resident Evil 7 and had to get the 3d image scale to 0000 and the silhouette hand dissapeared but it plays with big borders on top and bottom same as Grid and not sure if they can be played in full screen or how.
This isn’t an easy pick up and play app and probably take me a while to set it up to play some games but once I get the hang of it I’m sure it’ll be okay, one of the reasons I got this was because it said Resident Evil 7 was playable and it was either the Rift or PSVR so I opted for the Rift as I thought this would be like TrinusVR I used on my GearVR but it’s a bit cumbersome.

I don’t have Dont optimize game settings checkmarked in config and when I started Resident Evil 7 and pressed the delete button only full VR/immersive/cinema option I could change and nothing said DirectVR or is that what you meant?
Whatever I try I still get double hands holding double guns.
I’ll try Grid again when I get finish work.

You can change between cinema mode and fullscreen at any time with the vorpX Delete key menu, but if a game defaults in cinema mode it is like that for good reasons. You can try full mode in Grid, but it might look too zoomed in for your comfort. There are distance sliders on the image page for you to adjust if you want.

If you by some chance checkmarked the “Dont optimize game settings” in your vorpX config app, DirectVR functions won’t be available in game. Not all games have DirectVR, but I believe RE7 does.

Make sure you aren’t running Battlefield V in dx12, vorpX dosn’t work with 12.

If you still get load crash with dx11, just wait for the vorpX update due this weekend. It has planned Frostbite 3 integration, which might possibly include a new profile for Battlefield V. Just speculating, but we’ll see in a couple days.

I bought this Vorpx yesterday and can’t seem to make it work properly, of the 3 games I’ve tried I haven’t come up with great results.
I tried Grid and it looked like a cinema screen in front of me and Resident Evil 7 looks like there is a hand in front of me and a silhouette of a cut out hand next to it and I also tried Battlefront V from a profile I found on Cloud and I started Battlefront V and the game wouldn’t load properly and just crashed and I also tried what was suggested of using the Battlefield 1 profile and still it crashed and went back to the Oculus menu screen.
Is there something I’m doing wrong because right now the experience I’m having with this app really isn’t justifying the price I paid for it, if there are other settings I’m not using they don’t seem to be listed anywhere like a compatibility help topic for every game and the settings you should use, I have used search in topics but the information given was for Resident Evil 7 which a user said usedcamera ht modifier to hide the hideous gun aiming hands and I’ve no idea what that even means and also another user saying that you boot the game, open the in-game VorpX setttings, and click on the DirectVR option and I checked and there is no DirectVR option to click on in the Vorpx menu.
Also suggested by another user to try the Battlefield 1 profile for Battlefield V and that didn’t work either.
I’m lost here and thinking that I’ve really wasted my money.

I would not mind comparing notes.

I have Dirt 2 and 3 and Grid racing and they work well in G3D

It is a very good 3d effect and not just Cinema mode which is just a big screen in my Oculus DK2

Dirt 2 must be forced into DX9 but that is easy to do.

I have had a few VR computers running Win7 and 10 and have not had a problem with these games.

I have not been able to run them in Full VR mode since the screen just moves as my head does and that is not very fun. Maybe it is because I do not have an special programs running except Vorpx, and the Oculus console.

No user guide seems to be available which seems like more then just an oversite.

It would not be bad to compare a few notes here.

    Disciples 3: Reincarnation (G3D)

This game has phenomenal art direction which oozes a great atmosphere. On a whim I decided to see if I could get this working in VR and to my surprise and delight, this game works near dam perfect in G3D Immersive mode. Thanks to VorpX’s shader authoring tool, I was able to fix the HUD along with the shader for the glowing buttons.

    Recommendations:

    – Turn off health bars from combat menu, cards show health anyway
    – Turn off hex grid outlines from combat menu
    – Crank up resolution to the highest you can, for me 3840×2160 16:9 works great

You can leave both these enabled and work fine. The health bar is just a little out of depth, but not bad. There is also a translucent option for this.

You can also adjust the HUD within VorpX and anything else if so desired. I personally love this game for the art direction and some of the visuals really give a sense of scale and for a strategy game in VR, this is a winner.

If you want to see something epic, give these a try:

    Total War: Napoleon (G3D)

This turned out as good as I could have hoped – with full G3D and working shadows. It all looks great, especially when you zoom down to ground level and watch the melee charge chaos!

I also had fun scaling down the battlefield with heavy 3D separation, making the formations really pop, and give the appearance of a miniature toy set. But you’ve never played with your toy soldiers quite like this before 😁.

So I’ve uploaded an additional Miniatures version to try. FullVR mode probably offers the best 3D, but cinema is default for practical reasons. See which you prefer.

    – use a 16:9 resolution (1920×1080)
    – set Shader Model to High 3.0 in game

    Total War: Empire (G3D)

This one worked the same with a few adjustments. Looks and plays identical. It too has a Miniatures option – kinda neat to see the model ships. You can make all pieces as small as you want by increasing the 3D separation strength.

    – use a 16:9 resolution (1920×1080)
    – set Shader Model to High 3.0 in game

Your first battle may open without a mouse cursor. Alt+Tab out and back should fix it and any other artifacts. If not, disable “pointer trails” in you Mouse Properties options. This applies to both games. Enjoy!

*G3D Shadow Treatment to OFF will hide the Orders HUD
*Tested on Definitive Editions, but not for multiplayer

Grid Autosport was due to a problem with my computer.
After uninstalling completely and doing it again it was 3D.

there are games for which it seems impossible to create a vorpx profile, the first that come to mind are:

    Okami
    Valkyria Chronicles
    The Crew
    Grid Autosport
    World of Final Fantasy
