Yea you’re not alone, seems everyone is experiencing the same problem, they broke SBS rendering with drivers since 344.xx – it now displays 4 images instead of 2, which is why you’re seeing 2 per eye
Still zero progress. I’ve clean reinstalled my AMD drivers, and even tried the new omega driver to no success. I’ve tried all the methods here and still nothing. I see the sbs vorpex view for a split second, which then switches back to standard view when the progress bar comes up followed by an immediate crash with no explanation.
Will vorpX work with anything other than a Rift Dev Kit? Is there an option to have a regular SBS image with no warp distortion applied?
Has anyone had any luck getting farcry 4 up and running? I see the sbs oculus view for about 2 seconds (with working headtracking) but then an immediate crash. Looked in windows event logs and nothing hugely useful there (just 0xc0000005 fault in farcry4.exe). I’ve just clean reinstalled the game, Oculus 0.4.4 and Vorpx 0.7.5 which made no difference. Any tricks to getting this working? Would really like to give it a go.
it didnt like my link. Something like this.

if SBS support was offered would that make crysis 3’s official 3D support would work, because currently when i select it in the in game menus i saw 2 pictures per eye.
also i think human revolution has official 3D support, and would likey do SBS, i think in that scase the guns would be fixed, as currently when you do 3D with vorpx there is a double gun issue making 3D less enjoyable than 2D.
thx for the info!
may I ask for the reason? you already have the software which does the ‘3d rendering’. wouldn’t it be simple to output in ‘normal-sbs’ instead of the ‘oculus-sbs’?
and as I mentioned before, now it’s the right time for new providers of 3d-software, because of the problems with tridef and 3d-vision. a lot of people all over the world are actually searching for alternatives!
does vorpX has a ‘normal’ SBS-mode too? for 3D gaming on 3D-TVs.
would be great, because ALL 3D enthusiasts are actually looking for alternatives to tridef and 3d-vision. both have stopped with official profile support.
Hello,
I can’t seem to get vorpX to trigger when loading warframe. I’ve seen demos on youtube and such so I know that its possible.
I’ve added ‘Launcher.exe’ to the ignore list as you can’t directly launch the game, but it hasn’t helped. The game launches fullscreen on the Oculus (DK2) but it is not SBS, rather its just stretched across both eyes, with the standard gaps in the view.
The vorpx cursor doesn’t appear and the ‘del’ key doesn’t trigger anything.
Any ideas would be welcome.
Thanks,
-TheO
I find with just using SBS and 3D geometry would work as Tridef 3D makes all games work its just you can’t stretch the image out so its like stuck at 4:3 instead of 16:9 no matter what settings
it’s weird but I think the 3D of Tridef is superior than Vorpx
The FOV 3D adjust is great as the positioning is correct instead of zoomed in
having 3D disabled completely because Vorpx doesn’t “know the game” when it’s exactly the same game like Garrys mod and L4D 2 which works but Garrys mod doesn’t
When that happens VorpX likely did not hook correctly.
You can try a few times more (and maybe restart your PC …) to see if it “magically starts working”.
If it doesn’t, make sure:
– you have no conflicting software running (shader mods, other Rift Enablers, some antivirus, supposedly TeamViewer, external launchers …)
– VorpX is actually enabled (and the watcher is ENABLED)
– VorpX is set to use “System Settings” for viewing mode
– No Oculus Profile is Selected
– The Rift is in Extended Mode, as primary monitor, in Portrait mode orientation
You can also try to right click your little VorpX icon and select “Create Game Shortcut” or something like that. Then navigate to the .exe of the game and start via that new shortcut on your desktop.
Other than that… I don’t know… For me, some stuff simply doesn’t work that works for others (Space Engineers Q_Q).

Do you get a VorpX Menu when you press “DEL” in game? If so, that’s a good sign. Try setting the mode in that menu from “Rift” to “Rift SBS”, then set the resolution of the game to HALF the screen (948×1080 I believe). That’ll force the game to render half the image – and VorpX gives you the other half.
The game launches in SBS mode, but it’s constantly flashing, has no overlay, and in game is just a solid colour screen other than the menus. Anyone have any luck with this so far? I’ve tried optimizing through vorpx config already.
Forgot all about this project!
Tracking does not work but TrackIR solves this problem :)
Feature requests….
-Dome, barrel, curve screen
-Raise the zoom and other setting limits.
-Realtime eye SBS/rift alignment
-remove borders? option

Try Z buffer and switch sbs to rift mode while bf3 is running in windowed mode. I get pretty good 3D that way. This is only for single player campaign..did not try in multiplayer.
The options have rift and riftSBS. I started it up, and switched to riftSBS, pressed ok. Did nothing. Switched back to rift. Nothing. Played with it, couldn’t get it to do nothing. Meh I would love to get this to work.
