ParticipantEvery time I use the immersive screen mode, VorpX adjust the screen height as if I was standing, to solve this I have to get of my chair, crouch and press Alt + Space which is really annoying, please add an option to configure screen height or please add a Sitting mode toggle.

KeymasterWhen you use ALT-SPACE your view is recentered to the center of the virtual screen regardless whether you sit or stand. I’m not sure how that could fail, but if it does for you, maybe doing your headset’s basic setup again could help. Also keep in mind that most headsets render more pixels below that camera than above, so centering the position to the virtual screen does not necessarily mean that the space above the virtual screen has the same height as the space below the virtual screen, which typically will be slightly larger.

ParticipantThanks for the answer.
You are not understanding what I’m talking about, I’m not talking about recentering the space on the horizontal axis, I’m talking about changing the position of the “simulated screen” over the vertical axis. Let me explain myself better, whenever I launch Wold of Warcraft my eyes should be aligned to the center of the screen over the verical axis, this is working as intended when I launch the game while I’m standing, but If I’m sitting the my eyes are aligned with the bottom edge of the “virtual screen”, so all I can see are my character feet and I would need to tilt my head up if I want to see the rest of the screen. What I would love to have is a setting that would allow the user to change the height position of the virtual screen up or down.

KeymasterI was talking about the vertical alignment too. When you press ALT-SPACE the view is supposed to to be aligned to the center of the virtual screen, both horizontically and vertically, everything else would be pretty odd obviously. It shouldn’t matter at all whether you are standing or sitting.
I’m not sure how that could fail for you, but if it does, maybe doing your headset’s basic setup again might help.

ParticipantI’m not saying alt + space isn’t working, but when I press alt + space the screen vertical alignment is too high for me, could we please have a simple slider that allow us to move the screen up or down (the screen position not the camera)?

KeymasterI understood what you experience, but that is not how it’s supposed to be if all works normally. If your view is not centered correctly to the screen after pressing ALT+SPACE something is wrong with your individual setup. After pressing ALT-SPACE your view should be exactly centered to the screen no matter what.
I have no real idea what that might cause your issue though unfortunately, hence my suggestion to re-run your headset’s basic setup hoping that might help. You would see a lot more posts like yours here if vorpX would center the view to floor height intead of the screen under normal circumstances.

ParticipantI’m using an Oculus Quest with Link, I already tried to re run the basic setup multiple times, but the same keeps happening, that’s why I thought it was programmed to work like that. Could it be a device compatibility issue?, other VorpX apps like Desktop Viewer don’t present this issue.

KeymasterQuest is used by many users and also has been tested here. If I had something more specific to suggest than the above, I’d let you know, of course. Try to restart your PC, disconnect/reconnect the Link cable, try to reinstall the Oculus software.
Also a factiory reset in the vorpX config app might be worth a shot.
There really isn’t anything more specific that I could suggest unfortunately since what your are experiencing with your setup is not how it works normally.
I’ll check next week whether anything has changed regarding Quest, although that seems quite unlikely considering that so far there aren’t any other reports like yours.

ParticipantI already tried all of that, and also tried it in my computer and the computer of a friend with another quest and both are experiencing the same, I know this isn’t how it’s supposed to work but nonetheless it happens, could we please have a slider or a property on a config file or something similar to allow us to offset the screen on the vertical axis?

ParticipantI swear I’ve searched through the forums over the last weeks, and I know I’m not the only user with this issue. This would help a lot of people to enjoy VorpX even more.

KeymasterAgain: I don’t have anything more specific to suggest unfortunately since that is not how it works normally. I’d like to help you, but I simply can’t since I have no idea what might cause your problem.

ParticipantMaybe there aren’t reports of other quest users but there are multiple threads in the forum asking for something like this.
Is it possible to move the screen up and down in desktop viewer?
Suggestion: Screen Position / HUD Position Vertical adjustment if possible
and many more…

KeymasterThese posts refer to what I tried to explain to you in my very first reply.
Also keep in mind that most headsets render more pixels below that camera than above, so centering the position to the virtual screen does not necessarily mean that the space above the virtual screen has the same height as the space below the virtual screen, which typically will be slightly larger.
As I understand you are experiencing an actual problem with the center position though, not the above, which would be perfectly normal. Listen, it’s Sunday night here. I’d really like to help you with your issue if I had the slightest idea what might cause it.

ParticipantI have also noticed this when I am using cinema mode that for some reason I sink. I am using an oculus quest 2 through virtual desktop. Will play around a bit to see if I can isolate the issue more
