bravekatParticipantBest G3D settings I’ve found so far:
-Set G3D Shadow Treatment to ‘AUTO’ in vorpX settings, for normal cutscene/character creator hair color.
-Set Shadow Quality to ‘LOW’ or ‘MEDIUM’ in game settings.
-Set Anti-aliasing to ‘OFF’ in game settings.
-Set Subsurface scattering to ‘OFF’ in game settings.
-Set Bloom to ‘OFF’ in game settings.
-Set G3D to ‘1.10’ in vorpX settings(personal preference).
-Set Dialog Text Size to ’54px’ in game settings(personal preference).
-Set Alt key override to ‘NO’ in vorpX settings, to enable loot highlighting in game.I prefer the G3D even with a couple of texture artifacts. I use Intel i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz and Nvidia 3080ti GPU with valve index HMD. Enjoy!
bravekatParticipantThanks Ralf! Everything working great with G3D profile except in character creator/cutscenes the characters hair color is ultra bright? I’ve tried different resolutions and disabling all game settings with no effect. Z3D profile hair color is normal. Anyone else experience this issue in G3D?
bravekatParticipantOri and the Blind Forest local profile is a good one to start with. The main problem is all the unity engine 5 profiles I have tried have dark pixel texture artifacts. I am currently trying to fix the pixel artifacts but have limited skill and knowledge with G3D Shader Authoring tool.
bravekatParticipantI uploaded a Z3D profile for NieR Replicant to the cloud. Z3D works great.
bravekatParticipantResident Evil Village Official vorpX profile works great for Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo. I uploaded a custom profile with the updated .exe.
bravekatParticipantThe search forum function is missing, which makes finding the Vorpx info you need difficult. Has the forum search been disabled intentionally?
bravekatParticipantAgree, WOW is truly incredible played with VorpX G3D.
bravekatParticipantFurthermore anything looks very strange as if I was playing in 640×360. On my monitor anything is super sharp (3440×1440 resolution) but on my headset (Quest 2) it is so pixelated and blurry.
This is a Vorpx bug that causes the squished and pixelated image occasionally. It can be fixed by cycling between full screen and windowed mode in WOW game menu/system. I created a key binding for full screen for my keyboard in WOW/game menu/key bindings/ miscellaneous, then set a button on my mouse to that key binding. This allows me to fix the bug instantly while playing with the click of my mouse.
Still hoping for a bug fix, can be distracting especially in team dungeon settings.
bravekatParticipantYeah, I’m going to have to ask you to elaborate on this.
Lol. I use the valve index hmd and did not like the uncomfortable pressure points and weight that happen inevitably with long sessions of gaming, so I developed a custom mod to alleviate these. I use this mod for seated 3d theatre mode in vorpx(immersive mode could work as well) or any other seated vr compatible game or app.
I use a studioform creative counter balance, with comfort head strap and a series of bungee cords small to large. Small end connected to the top strap of the hmd, large end connected to a hook in the ceiling. I tie knots in the bungee cords to control the height. I position the hook on the hmd top strap, forward or backward, to control the tilt(up or down).
I ended up with complete 180 degree horizontal weightless movement from side to side. Up and down movement are limited but if the hmd is on loosely, I can move my head inside to focus the sweet spot anywhere on screen. I actually removed the head gasket completely and moved the lenses as close as possible to my eyes, for ultra clarity and better sweet spot.
Looks a little ridiculous, but the comfort gained for long vr sessions is worth it for me.
bravekatParticipantTop 10 so far. I play in 3d theatre mode w/ custom HMD ceiling suspension mod:
1. Cyberpunk 2077
2. Red Dead Redemption 2
3. Resident Evil 2
4. The Witcher 3
5. Rise of the Tomb Raider/ Shadow of the Tomb Raider
6. Code Vein
7. Nier: Automata
8. Resident Evil Village
9. Dark Souls Remastered
10. Remember Me
bravekatParticipantWith Nier:Automata as an example, my system cannot handle it in g3d. I was able to get z3d looking almost as good by turning texture filtering to 0 and anti aliasing off, in the game settings. Also turning up z3d to max 3.0. Turning texture filtering off made the biggest difference for the z3d 3d effect though.
bravekatParticipantAnyone able to get the cloud profile by Syberjunkie z-normal 3d to work? I have tried this profile and I cannot get any type 3d to work.
bravekatParticipantOkay thanks. If this helps, the 2 times I was able to get it to work, it seemed to do with how the game loaded(After, I could enter the game world in g3d without freezing, until I restarted the game). Unfortunately, I was unable to recreate what I changed to make the g3d work without freezing.
bravekatParticipantI am having the same issue. I got it to work twice and am trying to recreate what I changed to make it work. It is definitely the g3d causing the freezing because when turned off, it starts fine and as soon as g3d is tuned back on, it freezes.
bravekatParticipantThanks, I use bit defender and have had to turn off advanced threat defence since installing vorpx, to make it work. I will try turning it back on and see what happens.
