Thanks! That is definietely the culprit. Since I have the Windows Store version I had to guess the Epic store .exe name, unfortunately I guessed slightly wrong (‘IndianaEpicStore’ instead of ‘IndianaEpicGameStore’). I’ll update the profile.

19.3.0 with the updated profile will be made available again once I figured out something in regard to RDR2 launcher problem.

Hey Ralf thanks for getting the new update out! Outer worlds looks great even tho I am having issues with directvr not scanning and working – it’s fine tho, I can configure those settings no problem

The issue I am running into is controller support – I have just spent like 45 minutes trying to make the Xbox one controller work with headtrscking, it will work for a few moments if you “move” in the game, but once I touch the right stick, it basically “turns off” headtracking no matter what settings I try.

I just wanted to know if you had an idea of what setting I should be looking at – but ya, I have tried everything I know in vorpx game menu to get the controller to just work with right stick for look + headtracking being on and the right stick just seems to override the headtracking once I touch it and then effectively turns headtracking “off” until I move, stand still and don’t touch it, then headtracking resumes. The two are not working in concert, the right stick movement basically “kills” the headtracking.

Thanks for you time and the profile! HUD adjustments seem great and it looks great!

Thank you for your time and work for us!

Did you end up getting the head tracking to work? That’s my exact problem with the controller

So I’m trying to get this to work. Everything seems to be working but the head tracking. Head tracking is barely working for me with the game pad. I did the X-Box Gamepad Override option on full which made it work a little bit. The head tracking will work for a little bit and than stop. It will work for a little bit again, and stop again. And when it does work, the screen moves with it a little bit as well. It works consistently when using the motion controllers. But the screen still moves with it a little but when I turn my head. Anyone else seeing this or have any ideas? I just renamed the file to IndianaWindowsStore-Win64-Shipping.exe, copied the Conarium vorpx profile, and then changed the gamepad override to full. I’m fairly new to this, so maybe I’m doing something wrong. Might wait for the official profile.

I’m using a Samsung Odyssey+ headset and my computer specs are below.

    GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1080ti
    CPU: i7-8700K
    32 GB of memory

sorry drey i thought i knew your problem and i didnt and ran into it too and think i got an easy solution, apologies on the delay, i thought i knew what issue you had and i was ignorant. hope this works

Wanted to add a note for people playing with controller and running into headtracking issues – i messed with it for a bit and had trouble as well, i couldnt find a way to make it work, ignorance of vorpx settings im sure but got a workaround or anyone with the issue.

launch steam big picture – go to controller configs – set your desktop controller config to wasd mouse presetting or whatever the label it has, exit big picture with that as your confirmed control format for ‘desktop’ use

exit big picture but keep steam active

your ps4 or xbox controller should move around in windows now, if it worked, sticks will move mouse.

we want xbox console companion to only ‘see’ a mouse and keyboard, your now ‘mouse and keyboard controller’. do not launch xbox console companion thru steam, launch it normally as its own program

your console companion should now think youre just on a mouse keyboard, games headtracking should work fine now, but youll be getting keyboard shortcuts for tooltips and such, may have to configure a few buttons but your headtracking issue should be eliminated

now if youre on a dualshock4, you can also set the trackpad button in middle for a ‘touch’ and ‘push’ setting, you can assign touch to P for your image ‘zoom out’ and ‘push’ to del for your vorpx settings change options.

hope that helps – real profile will be here soon so thisll be irrelevant, but anyone who wanted to play now, this should work for those controller headtracking issues

Unfortunately that didn’t work for me. It still works for a little bit (with the screen moving a little bit with it), then stops. Works for a bit then stops. I might just wait for an official profile to see if it helps. Wish it was available in Steam now so I could see if that worked better

okay my last resort here – i messed with vorpx in menu settings and stuff for my controller, i dont know if i hit the right things and got it working, but this did work for me. im going to upload my outerworlds profile, youll find it in vorpx cloud saves, my name there is TheBaltar ; testingowdrey is the name, try using that if you wanna give it one last try

Still no dice for me unfortunately. Have the same issue of the head tracking initially working, than stopping after a couple seconds. Starting again, and than stopping. It always stops if I try to turn with my right thumbstick. It always works if I’m moving around my left thumbstick. But than stops when I stop moving my left thumbstick. It worked randomly in between that. I really appreciate the help though. I think my issue is something outside of what Vorpx settings can fix.

It does work with my motion controllers, but they just don’t have enough buttons. I have WMR which has touchpad and thumb sticks. Wish I could use the touchpad clicks as individual buttons lol.

Okay, i think i have a ‘fix’ for your situation, but it might require you to do some ‘small work’ in steam controller configuration.

Launch steam – go to Library – at the bottom select’add nonsteam game’ and find the Xbox Console Companion app on your computer, select it and add it to steam. From there, if youre using and Xbox controller, PS4 controller or Steam controller – right click “Steam Controller Configuration” – or if you have the new update for steam, you will right click in THEN select ‘manage’ then select “Controller Configuration” on the Xbox Console Companion app, now listed in your steam library.

You MUST have a controller, ps4, xbox or steam controller plugged in for these options to even appear.

Once you are in the edit controller configuration, you are almost done – choose “browse configs” at the bottom of the controller configuration screen and go to “Templates” – click on Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse – and then select ‘apply configuration’.

Now, launch the Xbox console companion through Steam and it should now recognize, in Xbox console companion and games on the service – should – be interpreting your ‘controller’ as a keyboard/mouse. This will give you free look 24/7 in game, but you may have to change some bindings in game to make sure they are the same buttons as your steam controller configuration.. that will take you a few minutes, i dont have a profile made for that yet or id just give it to you, but if you follow this method, it should alleviate your problem

Unfortunately Xbox Console Companion doesn’t show up for me when I go to add non-Steam games. But in some digging, I noticed The Outer Worlds exe file is located in G:\WindowsApps\PrivateDivision.TheOuterWorldsWindows10_1.0.369.0_x64__hv3d7yfbgr2rp\TheOuterWorlds.exe for me. The default location if you don’t change your Xbox install location is C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. You have to change the permissions to access the location. Not sure if that helps anyone with Vorpx or not lol.
