That “burning” was mainly caused by malfunctioning watercooling unit :/

but I didnt notice it before because nothing else cant run this PC 100%…

Believe me… last thing that you want to get when using VR is exploding radiator inside your PC and Total VR jam and after seconds Bluescreen inside DK2 :D

You are right though…. that would also make lazy devs to think that there is no need to make more work to get better VR experience… :/

There is not mutch to do to get it to work…
I am little confused that it aint native bacwards supported on OR drivers :/

Sad thing is there are many games that are working with VR only with DK1 and porting those to DK2 is unpossible like old Unreal demos…
And some other engines that cannot handle positional tracking at all :/

Even I have bought many games that are now unplayable because no positional tracking support… only DK1 support with motion tracking… Majosr sad thing is that all those WORK in DK2 just tracking is missing :/ so we only need little progran that can emulate DK2 motion tracking to DK1 motion tracking and lets forget whole position trackin stuff…
    It will work!

I dont want my Rift to hijack my desktop (main display) that is organiced to 6 screens with hundreds of shortcuts and folders ;)

So that “Open on Oculus Rift” is the answer for that Primary monitor bug ;)

And without mentioned I think you already knew that Rift needs to be Extended mode…

If you want that “clone window” for desktop to demonstrate to audience or friends what you are seeing use OBS (open broadcaster) that program is serious CPU eater thou :/ so prepare for serious stress for your PC! Remove dust and and make your pc easy to get cooling air before running VR simulation and OBS at the same time…!
YOU MAY BURN YOUR RIG LIKE I DID WITH DK2+GTAV+VorpX+OBS
My closed watercooler exploded and prosessor burned in seconds :/ So te Kuhler 920 in Full blow wasnt enough for old i7 OC:d to 4.8GHz :D

0.6.0 is absolutely not worth of installing… YET!
there are 98% of games and demos that still runs even in 0.4 :O
(those can be used with 0.5.1 but deffinetly not with 0.6)
When I tested that newest 0.6.0 I didnt get anything of my hundreds of games and demos to run properly anymore…

So yes Stick in 0.5.1 !

And also I recommended to get familiar with “Open on Oculus Rift” command that is really helpful with VorpX if you got problems to get image run on Rift (no need to make Rift as primary desktop anymore)

Instructions to make it on your PC are here :)

If problem is not related to “False Virus Positive”
    Lets continue here then :)

Same for you… Check that your C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpControl.exe still exists after you get this malfunction…
If it doesnt and some virus program removes it or something…

    Report here:

Those who cannot open VorpX configuration!

Also inform if Some reason your VorpX_Websetup.exe fails…
That is also usually caused by False Virus definition in installer :/

Ok so let do “open on Oculus Rift” option for you :D

How to create an “Open on Oculus Rift” context item

Report if that opens game in right (secondary) screen…

do you have “DK1 support” enabled in oculus Display mode? it supposed to be…

Also check that you are running with latest oculus filmware and software.. (2.12 and 0.4.4)

run VorpX_Websetup one more time and also install directx when it asks…

    Checklist:
Running with VorpX 0.7.5… (if not update with Websetup) (disable virus removal) (VorpX controll and some of install components have Virus False Positive with some virus scanners like f-secure… etc)

Rift running in extended Desktop mode in 1920×1080 and twisted to Portrait…

In VorpX configuration in General page pick:
“Do not use Oculus Profile” (set IPD manually in right op corner)…
“Show on Rift DK2” and enable “Restore desktop windows…

Now it should hook up with games :)
There is also Game Settings Optimizer that is highly preferred to use :)

Does the VorpX still hook up with game?
So is the game still running under vorpx VR interface? or is the problem just monitor related?
Have you updated any graphic drivers or DirectX? :)

Running Rift in extended mode is fine :) just remember to configure display settings to DK2 only in VorpX configuration
