The 3D effect is okay, I just really like it when it pops out of the screen. Is there anything to do about the custom resolution not working though?

I reinstalled and took the default profile.
I found out that the G3D only works in 1920×1080 and not after I change it in the main menu to 1920×1440. If I change it back after it works again.

Also, the 3D effect doesn’t feel very strong in the game (even when amped up to max), but it shows a little.

I also have a problem related to custom resolutions.
I have to start the game with my desktop set to my custom resolution (1920×1400), which works in EdgePeek mode. I would like to play in immersive screen mode.

The problem is if I toggle that on, I can:
    1. Only move my mouse within an inner screen that looks about 1280×800 (my basic monitor is that size).
    2. The UI also appears within that box, meaning the UI is in the middle of my view, and unread-ably small.

(you can only move the mouse itself in a UI element, so they might be related).

Is there anything I can do about this?

I actually have the same issue. I’m also going to try to reinstall the game.
Also: when I use a custom resolution higher than my screen can handle, using anything but Geometry (Z3D, Znormal, etc) makes only an inner screen appoximately the size of my monitor function in 3D.

In Geometry3D the game itself stays flat except for the menu though. I will let you know if reinstalling also worked for me.

I have exactly the same problem. I am on the latest version of Windows 10, so that’s not it. I would love to play this in G3D. Pity the support is broken.

I really wanted to try this, but when I started it the right eye gives an entirely black screen. I tried opening the shader editor to see what I could do, but it says it does not support OpenGL.

I tried to run it in Windows XP compatibility mode, but SteamVR told me I need to update to at least Windows 8.1 since otherwise SteamVR is not supported.

Would love to play this in VR, and I’m willing to play around with vorpX behind the scenes to get it to work (Game technology student), but I don’t know where to start with this problem.

Yeah, wish I had an index for the controllers as well, but I have WMR and on that headset, there is no button for SteamVR :/

Thank you for your quick reply Ralph. I appreciate the huge effort you have put in this project as a Game Technology student myself. I don’t want to ask the impossible of you.

If you would be able to make a quick hack for it like in my previous message (even if it’s just a SteamVR button press from the controller simulation, if that’s possible), I would be very grateful. If not, don’t worry, I still like VorpX, although it’s not really suitable for arranging multiplayer without the desktop functionality. Still nice for single player games!

The issue with starting SteamVR (or Oculus if I had one) is that you have to have your VR controller starting up, just to get to the Desktop. Then once you see the Desktop, it’s the full screen game, switching back to the keyboard again to minimize it (Alt+Tab).
For some games that won’t even work (maybe because I have WMR, and it is either controlling VR, or controlling the Desktop). So I have to often take of my headset to be able to minimize the game. Once it’s minimized, it usually works again (not sure why).
Even a button to be able to simulate the SteamVR button press and minimizing the game would be awesome.
