I found a workaround by making the default desktop config the one I wished to use in-game, since that’s what it seems an .exe affected by Vorpx defaults to.

The issue is that the steam controller works as a direct m/kb input, usually. It can use a gamepad setting but is ideal for games with no controller support for that reason. The problem is that in order to function properly the steam controller must be attached to an .exe and Vorpx creates a different injector each instance.

I’ve tried adding Start Vorpx and Vorpx Control to steam library, but that doesn’t work. Somehow Vorpx changes the .exe of the original program that the controller profile is bound to so settings don’t stay and the Vorpx .exe’s won’t activate the settings, either.

I can’t figure out how to bind a steam controller profile to an .exe running through Vorpx. I don’t know what program to attach the controller profile to.

Alright, I’ve since realized uploads are meant for builds to get the game running, not for specific settings. I’ll try to delete what I’ve uploaded. Also have found the thumbstick deadzone emulation setting. Read it several times thinking it was to change the actual thumbstick deadzones, not emulate it in the headset tracking.

Deus Ex: Invisible War. Tried with a few UE2 game profiles, including Thief: Deadly Shadows, an Ion Storm/Eidos game but no luck.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I find the WMR controllers less than ideal, the button mapping I still haven’t really figured out yet. Adding the Hydra is putting another hurdle on the track to get things working but I think it’d be worth it.

However it doesn’t seem that the Hydras recognize that a game is running because it stays in desktop mode, with no game function inputs and stuff like volume control and keyboard.

It’d be great if at least one of the controller options available just worked like standard controllers, without any of the buttons remapped or reconfigured. A lot of the times I find myself juggling WMR contollers, an Xbox gamepad, and a keyboard and mouse all while trying to aim the cursor using the headset. It’s frustrating.

Hi, I really like the game Observer. Really like it in 3D, adds a whole ‘nother dimension. haha. I took some time to tailor your profile for the game for something that fits WMR sets, specifically the Odyssey+. I named it ‘Observed’ in case anybody wants to find it and try it out. I messed with the settings until the camera perspective felt right and tried to remove the binocular vision effect that happens. I wish there was a setting to enable a headset tracking deadzone parameter, like a thumbstick’s, so there would be less jutter in games. I know there is one setting that helps, but it’s not enough to negate the vertigo from camera-shake.
