Ah awesome that does work, nice. Thank you. It works with SteamVR, you have to make sure youre in SteamVR and not Oculus Home/Dash because Oculus still needs to be open with SteamVR.
ShpinxisParticipantYeah I got it to hook like that. Then I tried a lot of different settings in game, but nothing stopped it from freezing sadly.
ShpinxisParticipant@steph12 You didn’t have any freezing problems? Are you able to change the title to say there are problems? Maybe we can get ralph’s attention and he’ll look at it? It’s free to play, so would be easy to test.
ShpinxisParticipantShpinxisParticipantWas literally coming back to these forums to see if someone had mentioned this game. Going to reinstall all my VR stuff just to try this.
Care to share your settings?
ShpinxisParticipantWe’re also going to need to change up the code some for the Path of Fire expansion and mounts. I tried it out a bit during the beta.
ShpinxisParticipantGot around to trying TriDef again. It was alright, but it kind of ruined using first person view because of how the scaling looks with it. That’s one of the main reasons I play in VR. Plus, my computer can’t handle rendering 4 images as once very well lol. There are definitely some cool moments though when you see the depth of your character in conjunction with the world.
ShpinxisParticipantCool. I’ll get into trying this stuff out next week. Thanks.
ShpinxisParticipantDid you have to do some work around stuff for it to work? I remember needing to do a lot of random things and research to get it to work with GW2.
ShpinxisParticipantYeah I do that as well. I use Virtual Desktop for when I don’t feel like playing first person mode in the game and VorpX when I do.
Trust me lol, I’ve been using Virtual Desktop and VorpX to play GW2 since since they first came out on DK2. I really enjoy just playing normal games in VR.
As for the mouse buttons. I have a Logitech G502.
In the Logitech software my side buttons are set to “Forward” and “Back” like the browser functions, and the middle mouse button is “Mouse 3” (Middle Click).
In GW2 one side button shows up as “Mouse 4” and “Mouse 5”, while the middle button is “Mouse 3.”
I’m not sure what they are at the Windows software level though.
ShpinxisParticipantSorry, hadn’t looked back here for a bit. I’ll have to see which specific mouse evens they are. It’s extra mouse buttons that would be like Mouse 3 and 4 right?
We also should try and get a discussion going on the Stereoscopic side of the conversation on the forums. I have actually tried the game in 3D before with tridef and it was alright. It might look a lot better with an HMD though.
ShpinxisParticipantFinally got around to trying this out. It’s pretty cool since I have been playing this way in GW2 for a while. Thanks for the work.
I tried to add more key events to the script for it to detect my extra mouse buttons that I use, but I couldn’t really get that to work sadly.
ShpinxisParticipantYes, I just saw the video for the beta 1.3. I can’t wait for this!
ShpinxisParticipantI have an issue when I set the game to full screen I see the game as two seperate images. It looks exactly what the rift display looks like on your monitor when your in a game, but its being displayed in the rift. How do I fix this?
ShpinxisParticipantI have tried following the instructions in the VorpX guide and setting FOV to 120 (like in Skyrim) and it still seems very zoomed in. Maybe this is how the game looks? I also tried Dear Esther in which VorpX tells you to set the FOV slider all the way and so I did, but the game is still really zoomed in.
