Hi and thank you for that quick reply!
I have indeed used MPC-BE, wich seems to be still active.
Also used madVR and now I “just” need to tinker around with the specific display settings for the movies.
Thank’s again! :)
svarniParticipantHi and thank you for your tutorial! I have just made a copy of my newest 3D BluRay Disk. However, your tutorial has no second step – how to properly view the video file in 3D? I’ve tried VLC player, but the video coming from MakeMKV is not side-by-side, so I have no idea how to watch in 3D.
svarniParticipantThank you for the links, after reinstallation, the problem is gone!
svarniParticipantMight depend on how you define “compatible”. I’ve created a profile for it (“Arma III – DayZ SA Offline mode”). It works (worked?) with the client itself, however it is not working when Battleye is active, so you propably could only play on local server or on public servers without hacker protection.
svarniParticipantThank’s for your quick reply!
I tried the -output option using argument 0 and 1.
With -output 1, I get “output specified to be duplicated does not exist with 0x887a0002” (when watcher is disabled, otherwise the windows disappears to fast to read).
With -output 0, I just get a short flicker of a vorpx symbol in the taskbar (with watcher enabled). With watcher disabled, the taskbar entry stays, but shows no window and nothing when hovering or clicking on it.
Always, oculus software is not started. And when started before, no desktop viewer is starting :(
svarniParticipantPPS: I have no “Windows Defender” service running.
I also looked in the the threads below, but nothing helped so far:
Vorpx Desktop Viewer not working with Oculus (Please Help!!)
svarniParticipantPS: I’m using dual monitor setup (beamer and monitor), but when selecting a single output only (using WIN+P hotkeys), it still does not work.
svarniParticipantI’m still having the issue with current versssion 1.8.3.1
I figured out that running
vorpxDeksop.exe /?
will show the help window for a fraction of a second, then it closes without me closing it.
If I disable the vorpx watcher, and run
vorpxDeksop.exe /?
again, the help windows will stay until I close it or until I start the watcher again.
Back then, when it worked, I could start the desktopViewer without Oculus software being active. The Desktop Vewer would then fire up the oculus software. I still try with and without Oculus being started, but am I right that it still should be started automaticall?
I’m asking because I’m using this to ensure that it’s not the wrong oculus version (I use the old one which runs with Windows 8.1).Please, how can I debug this? There is no console output I’m aware off.
I really miss the desktop viewer.
svarniParticipantHow can I debug this? Is there a log file to inspect?
When I select to start the Desktop Viewer, the taskbar entry opens and closes immediately.
Also, trying to start the Desktop Viewer does NOT start the Oculus Software! Why is that? Can I find any log files for this? VorpX starts Oculus Software once hooking into a supported game, but not for my Desktop Viewer anymore. This can’t be on Oculus fault?!
svarniParticipantThanks for your super quick reply!
I added the whole folder to the exclude list (and also simply disabled the realtime/online scanner) but it does not help.
If I disable the “Watcher” and then select to start the Desktop Viewer, I get an entry in the task bar for the Desktop Viewer, however my Oculus software is not even fired up. This usually happens automatically when launching a game through shortcut or when the Watcher is enabled by starting an appropriate app.
When I enable the Watcher again, the task bar entry for the Desktop Viewer disappears immediately.
No differences at all when I start the Oculus software manually. I also dont get an entry in my Oculus library for the watcher (usually it get’s added there when not already present).
svarniParticipantThe Desktop Viewer still does not start, but I can confirm that, after wiping vorpX and starting Witcher 3, clicking on “Restore…” does not crash the config app but lists one entry regarding Witcher 3.
Any chance that we can debug why the Desktop Viewer does not work anymore? Anyone else having trouble with Desktop Viewer?
svarniParticipantHi Ralf,
in my case, I do not have the requested .ini file.
On my whole drive there’s no file with that name. The only .ini-Files I have under
ProgramData\Animation Labs
are:x@y /cygdrive/c/ProgramData/Animation Labs
$ find ./ -iname “*ini*”
./vorpX/Devices/Display/GenericHMD.ini
./vorpX/Devices/Display/HTCViveCV1.ini
./vorpX/Devices/Display/OculusRiftCV1.ini
./vorpX/Devices/Display/OculusRiftDK2.ini
./vorpX/Devices/Tracker/Null.ini
./vorpX/Devices/Tracker/Oculus.ini
./vorpX/Devices/Tracker/OpenVR.ini
./vorpX/vorpControl.ini

./vorpX_/Devices/Tracker/Oculus.ini
./vorpX_/Devices/Tracker/OpenVR.ini
./vorpX_/vorpControl.ini
./vorpX_/vorpX.inisvarniParticipantI also have the crash upon clicking the “restore” entry.
Also my vorpX Desktop Viewer does not start anymore and trying to start the Desktop Viewer also does not pull the Oculus software to start (it used to start on it’s own upon starting the Desktop Viewer).
Do you also have the issue with Desktop Viewer?
svarniParticipantWell I played through it again, as far as I’m concerned, I don’t care anymore ;)
svarniParticipantIs there any chance we get a profile for this rather old game?
What’s the “request advanced authoring key” feature – can I try to tinker my own profile? I have no clue how to edit the binary profiles.
