RalfKeymasterAlmost certainly a virus scanner issue. Please try to exclude the vorpX program folder from your AV scanner, usually that’s C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX.
If you use anything else than Windows Defender, consider uninstalling your third party AV program. Windows Defender will kick in instead on Windows 10 and is less likely to cause problems than some more invasive third party AV programs.
RalfKeymasterFirst please download the “Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed [vorpX]” profile from the cloud. While checking your issue I realized that the profile that is currently included deserves a bunch of improvements which are now available in the cloud profile.
I couldn’t replicate your issue here though. Try to switch between running the game windowed/fullscreen, sometimes one option works better. Also trying the alternative hooking method in the config app is worth a shot.
Caveat: Always remember to switch back to default hooking. While for some games the alternative method may help, others may not work at all with it.
If you happen to use a gaming laptop: make sure that the game runs on the dedicated GPU that you have your headset connected to. Ideally disable the integrated GPU in your BIOS if possible. Your issue sounds a bit like it could potentially be this kind of problem.
Apart from the above please check the pinned trouble shooting guide on top of this sub-forum if you haven’t done so already, especially in regard to potential hooking conflicts with other programs on your PC.
RalfKeymasterThat looks more like something that may happen occasionally due to the way the game calculates its lighting. It should hardly ever be worse than the few pixels visible in your second screenshot though.
What looks definitely wrong is your first screenshot, if possible I’d be very interested in a savegame exhibiting this glitch.
RalfKeymasterRushed through a fairly large portion of the game with a trainer yesterday and today until I ultimately got stuck at a door I couldn’t open in/after the Sunken Valley area without encountering this issue once. Probably worth 5 or 6 hours of actual gameplay.
I definitely will need a savegame to investigate this. You can find your Sekiro savegame in the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Sekiro folder.
The AppData folder is hidden per default. If you can’t see it, enable ‘Show hidden files’ in your Windows Explorer options.
I fixed another glitch though that I encountered during testing: there was some flicker with fog in front of the player character occasionally. That one will be fixed in the next vorpX version.
RalfKeymasterThere is a mod for Half-Life 2 called ‘Cinematic Mod’ that enhances models and textures of the game, has nothing to do with cinema mode in vorpX. I’d be highly surprised if moarveer wouldn’t play the game in FullVR mode.
RalfKeymasterCould you provide a savegame? Unfortunately I’m too bad at this game to play anything but the beginning, can’t recall to have seen something like this in the start area. If possible please send a savegame showing this issue without having to fight someone to support |at| vorpx com.
RalfKeymasterUpdate 2: Try to run the game windowed. That works for me while running it fullscreen causes the symptoms you describe. I’ll take a closer look and if possible provide a better fix with the next vorpX version.
RalfKeymasterUpdate: Getting the same here now. Worked in a first test but never since. I will have to investigate this further. Fingers crossed that it’s some vorpX issue, not the game blocking vorpX entirely all of a sudden. I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks for the heads-up.
RalfKeymasterNo hooking problem here with Arma 3 and the latest vorpX.
Hooking issues that suddenly occur after a vorpX update may be related to some overzealous AV software disliking the new version.
If you use anything else than Windows Defender, try to disable your AV software for testing. Note that some third AV programs are notoriously hard to disable, you may have to disable several modules. If that helps, try to add an exclusion for the vorpX program (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) and the game install folder.
Alternatively consider switching to Windows Defender, which is less likely to cause problems. On Windows 10 Windows Defender kicks in automatically when you uninstall third party AV programs.
RalfKeymasterPlease enter the same e-mail address into the download form that you used to register vorpX. The request will be ignored otherwise. The address you posted above is not in our license database, so you probably used another one originally.
RalfKeymasterIf you don’t have your installer anymore, you can get one here: https://www.vorpx.com/request-new-download/
RalfKeymasterSounds as if you may have selected the wrong display type in the config app accidentally.
Go to the ‘General’ page in the config app and make sure that ‘SteamVR’ is selected as headset type for a SteamVR compatible headset.
RalfKeymasterFully filling the view vertically in FullVR mode requires a camera field of view above what is normally possible. You can find detailed instructions in this regard in the stickied RDR2 thread on top of this sub-forum.
RalfKeymasterJust a guess: If by any chance you have raised the 3D-Strength above the default value, please change it back to default (1.0). That’s generally good advice whenever you encounter lighting issues in a G3D game.
RalfKeymasterTwo things you could try are running the game windowed (if it has such an option, can’t remember currently) and trying the alternative hooking method in the vorpX config app. Both can sometimes help with startup issues.
Caveat: Alternative hooking is not better than default hooking, just different. Even if it solves an issue with one particular game for you, always remember to switch back to default hooking. You will encounter issues with games that need the default method otherwise.
Apart from that please check your PC for potential hooking conflicts. These are not always obvious, e.g. some chat programs may hook into games and cause a problem. More detailed info about this can be found in the trouble shooting guide in the help (also stickied on top of this forum for convenience).
