RalfKeymasterThere are two ways to deal with potential hooking issues:
1. Try the new alternative hooking method (can be enabled in the config app). Caveat: this method is NOT FOR GENERAL USE, only try it in case of issues with regular hooking. Always try both methods if you encounter issues with hooking a game.
2. Create a desktop shortcut to the game’s main .exe from vorpX’s tray icon right click menu. Doesn’t work with most Steam/Uplay/Origin games, but should work with most GOG games.
If none of that helps, please make sure that no program is running in the background that also hooks into games or might interfere otherwise. E.g. virus scanners, any GPU/CPU utility, video streaming/recording apps, messengers. Generally everything that can show notifications in games.

RalfKeymaster@ Maarculus: Please try to check the ‘Use alternative hooking method’ in the config app (or uncheck it if you are using it currently).
Important hint in this regard: only try this alternative method in case of issues. It’s not meant for general use, but may help from time to time if regular hooking doesn’t work for a game.
RalfKeymasterYou can recenter the head tracking with ALT+SPACE or from the vorpX menu if it feels off-center.
RalfKeymasterThanks for the heads-up, guys. The profile was flagged as hidden accidentally. If you want, you can now re-download it from the cloud to make it appear in your local profiles list.
It works fine without being visible in the config app though, so that’s not strictly necessary.
RalfKeymastervorpX can only affect games while it is running and enabled. If it is not running or disabled, it cannot have an influnece on anything on your PC.
When it is running vorpX tries to hook into any DiretX9-11 and OpenGL game you start, including many native VR games. You can deal with that in two ways: either by disabling vorpX from the its tray icon right click menu before you start a native VR game or by adding the native game in question to the exclude list in the vorpX config app. vorpX will never try to hook into games/apps on the exclude list.
RalfKeymasterIf deleting the vorpControl.ini.old does not help, it might be a virus scanner issue. Please try to disable it for testing.
If that helps, exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning.

RalfKeymasterGenerally it’s pretty much plug and play these days. Resolution/FOV/useful tweaks are all handled by DirectVR.
The one major tip that truly enhances the experience is using OpenTrack for emulating TrackIR head tracking instead of vorpX’s mouse based tracking. Arma III supports decoupled aim/walk with TrackIR, so you get look/aim that works pretty much like a native VR FPS. Unfortunately Arma III is the only FPS that supports TrackIR in this manner as far as I’m aware.
RalfKeymasterAfter reinstalling vorpX please also exclude the vorpX program folder from your antivirus scanner. Might have been an overzealous AV scanner that deleted the file.
RalfKeymasterOn the DirectVR page of the vorpX menu. There should be a red notification regarding the FOV fix and playing online stating that about 30secs. after the game starts. If you don’t see it, the DirectVR FOV isn’t applied for some reason, which in that case probably is your issue.
BTW: double check that you are not using an additional FOV fix/mod accidentally that might interfere.
RalfKeymasterI’m not sure whether the mod or vorpX handles the FOV. If you also experience wrong FOV with a fully unmodded game, something is wrong with your config. The DirectVR FOV is written directly into the game’s memory and as always calculated precisely. Absolutely zero chance that vorpX’s DirectVR FOV is wrong for GTA V provided it gets applied. You can check that in the vorpX menu.
RalfKeymasterNot every game has memory scanner DirectVR. Whenever a game profile uses the memory scanner, you see the according message. Direct VR can be implemented in several ways, the memory scanner is just one potential way.
The supported Star Wars Battlefornt 2 is the one from 2017, not the older one of the same name.
In this game DirectVR covers resolution, tweaks and FOV via automated ini edits. The latter works only for multiplayer/arcade missions though. For the single player campaign I would suggest to follow the recommendation vorpX displays on start, i.e. playing in immersive screen mode.
Alternatively you could play the singleplayer campign in full VR mode using the workaround described in the ‘1-2-3 Game Setup’ guide in the help, basically using the ‘Image Zoom’ option to compensate for the missing FOV. That’s not idieal, but works for basically every first person game.

RalfKeymasterOdd, I don’t think the character model of the girl in the first mission was bald when I revisited the profile. At least I don’t recall that, not 100% sure though.
I can’t check anything myself this week. If anyone wants to try, it might be worth a shot to experiment with different graphics settings. If that doesn’t help, going back to the earlier state with the weapon shimmer using the 18.3.0 profile probably is the only thing that will.

RalfKeymasterThat sounds pretty weird indeed. Never heard of anything like that before. Only thing I can imagine currently is maybe you are pressing the hotkey to disable 3D inadvertantly? You can re-assign it in the config app.
I can’t check the game this week, but will see next week whether it’s some general vorpX issue. Sounds unlikely though, there have been no changes to the profile for quite a while.

RalfKeymasterOne can’t use other people’s savegames for this game, so checking anything besides the beginning is difficult. Playing through whole games to make profiles is not really an option unfortunately. I’ll look into it.
In the meantime try the 18.3.0 profile. Provided your issue is indeed related to the vorpX update, the older profile will fix it.
To apply the profile simply drag and drop the downloaded file into the ‘Local Profiles’ list in the config app.
BTW: Glitches that only apply to certain sections of a game are annoying for sure, but no reason for despair. You can temporarily disable stereo 3D, play in mono and re-enable stereo 3D after the glitchy section. Stereo 3D can be disabled in the vorpX menu or with a convenient hotkey (ALT+X per default).
