    Hello,
i’am new to VorpX. I tried Alien Isolation, Battlefield Hardline and Fallout 4.
In every Game the 3D Reconstruction Mode is set to off, and i can’t switch it to on, the Cinema Mode is off. So why is there no option for 3D Modes like z-Puffer Mode or Geometry 3D?

Using the latest 1.4 Oculus App ( Update comes today )

    Any help is welcome.

    Greeting Tomcat.

    Hello

I’m new to VR and vorpx. I’ve recently bought a Deepoon E2 and wanted to play Battlefield 4 on it. But i always get the error “vorpX could not initialize your Oculus Rift. It reported:”.
    I’m running:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    Asus H97 Pro Gamer motherboard
    Intel i7 4790K
    Nvidia GTX 750 Ti

Does VorpX not work on Windows 7 x64 ?
Do I “have to” dual boot ?

    Thanks in advance!

Understand .. In the future it will be implemented some new 3D viewing more like the classic view vr ? Normally I used to see a similar situation:

But in my case I find this at a huge zoom:

    This to explain better. Thanks

Battlefield 4 is Z-Buffer 3D only currently, this technique provides less natural Stereo 3D. Especially for objects close to you it looks flatter than Geometry 3D. It’s a lot faster though and beginning a few meters in front of you the 3D impression starts to be as good than with Geometry 3D (actually even better in games with wide open spaces).

Sorry for my bad english… I tried vorpx with battlefield 4 and fallout 4, but I have a problem ..
The game works but the view is not correct. In the screen that should display the game in vr, I have the impression to have before a 3D flat screen and a few centimeters.. Something does not work… I tried to correct the fov but not solve anything. No other setting makes me think of being in a game for the vr, but I only have the impression of being in front of a big screen 3D.
The game weapon remains too large, and changing the fov find myself only the closest background. I do not understand what could be the error. Thanks for your help

Ok after no solution to my issue, i have another question…

In excluded programs list, i see a few programs on it that are associated with my games, i even see oculus on this list. All of my games are steam/windows except Battlefield 4 which is origin. both steam and origin is on this list also.

“Programs on this list will never load vorpX even if vorpX ‘thinks’ it might make sense to try”

Im confused because I never touch the list, but there’s plenty of game oriented programs on there that are directly involved… What should I do? I get the same outcome for games. Sorry, we have trouble loading {game}.exe…

Please help, i just want to experience my game library in VR…

Ralf, can you tell me if both of these support G3d?

The BF4, or Frostbite engine Win8/10 to be precise, issue will be solved in the next vorpX version. No date set yet, but there probably will be a hotfix before Star Wars Battlefront is released.

    Thanks for the update, Ralf!
I indeed read something about the Frostbite engine on win8 being a problem.

Looking forward playing Battlefield with the fix :)
Anyway, Thanks for the fantastic peace of software, nice job!

    UPDATE 2:
Seems that VorpX can’t handle SLI. The reason that I got the health warnings previously is because of the NVIDIA Driver update disabling SLI when installing.

Maybe the developers should look into this?

When SLI is disabled and I start Battlefield 4, it seems like I get the same problem as this guy: https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/battlefield-4-vorpx-0-9-0-flickering-screen/

    UPDATE:
OK, Seems that NVIDIA just has a new Driver update v358.87.
After restarting and retrying Battlefield 4, I DO get the health warning.

Still black screen though, but I’ll search what the others did with this problem.

Direct driver business is what Oculus needs. It’s the extended mode that Oculus needs to lose, hence 0.7 and above.

My vorpx wasn’t detecting Battlefield 4 or GTA V. Turns out my comodo internet security was killing the vorpx control process needed for 64 bit games. The vorpx control (32) was unaffected. The only way to get the 64 bit vorpx control back was to completely uninstall comodo. Vorpx now works uninhibited.

Switched to a different free firewall: Privatefirewall 0.7

    I use runtime 0.7 with vorpx .9

Ralf thank you for all your hard work! It’s great to see developers having such real time part in helping their customers.

    On to my issue!
    re: Battlefield 4: Campaign
I am able to launch the game & get it to hook to the Oculus pretty consistently. However, after the game starts I get a black flickering screen. The audio is there & the game appears to have loaded the level. Although the screen is black I can tell I’m able to walk around, jump, fire my weapon. The map shows up in the bottom left & doesnt flicker as much. If i switch the Virtual Cinema the virtual screen is still black & flickering but the Virtual Cinema is ambience is fine. Again, getting the game to hook to the Oculus is not a problem. It seems to be a graphics problem causing a black flickering game screen.

    Oculus DK2(firmware 2.12)
    vorpX .9.0
    Oculus Runtime .8
    Radeon Fury X
    Catalyst 5.1 Beta
    Windows 10(up to date)
    Intel 2600k

    things I’ve tried:
    -AMD Raptr off
    -all graphics settings ‘default’
-all graphics settings ‘off’ or ‘Use application settings’
    -Battlefield 32 bit & 64 bit
    -Origin ‘offline mode’
    -Origin ‘in game overlays’ off
    -vorpX ‘Game Setting Optimizer’ applied
    -run ‘vorpX Control’ as administrator
-disable windows Aero, through vorpX Genral Settings

i can see the black border all the way around, the image is square with rounded corners to me.

it like a porthole as NipOc says. the screen looks like its about 4 or 5 inched in front of where it used to be.

i disabled async in the vorpx menu, and while the framerate did go up a few frames the sway and porthole effect remained.

edit: just tried battlefield 3 and i cannot see the top and bottom if i keep my head still. but if i move my head even slowly the sway shows the border all the way around.

(sorry if this is a bad explanation :P)
