bcozierParticipantWhat Oculus runtime are u using 0.41 or 0.42? You should use 0.41 since that’s what the current vorpx was made for…although I’ve tried 0.42 with borderlands and it works fine with vorpx.

bcozierParticipantAnother fix to make AIM a toggle and not a “hold down”…
My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\WillowInput.ini
Only under the section [WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput]
Search for the line containing “RightMouseButton” and REPLACE it with these three lines:
Bindings=(Name=”RightMouseButton”,Command=”ToggleAimOn”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Bindings=(Name=”ToggleAimOn”,Command=”StartAltFire | setbind RightMouseButton ToggleAimOff”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Bindings=(Name=”ToggleAimOff”,Command=”StopAltFire | setbind RightMouseButton ToggleAimOn”,Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)Now your right mouse button aiming works as a toggle instead of having to keep it held down.
By the way, even though it seems those three lines are cut short on the forum interface they are not…if you use mouse to highlight and then do cut and paste it gets everything needed.

bcozierParticipantOk I got a way to show fps stats in borderlands 1 and for some reason it still tops out at only 60fps when UseVsync=True even though I have rift set to 75hz in windows and using as primary display…not a big deal..
Now when I set UseVsync=False I get between 160 and over 300fps. After reading some older messages when the game first came out they used to get 40fps and below lol…we’ve come a long way.

bcozierParticipantAlso in
My Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config\WillowEngine.ini
To overcome 62fps limit, search for smooth and change these lines to
bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE
MinSmoothedFrameRate=0
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=0To enable Vsync, search for Vsync and change that line to
UseVsync=True
If you are using your rift as the primary display that should give you 75fps with vsync on.

willypatParticipantI was getting flickering pretty bad with some games with geo on…I have a 5870 card. Try your game in windowed or fullscreen windowed if its an option. Borderlands 2 flickered real bad until I used fullscreen windowed.

VangParticipantAdd my machine to the list of crashes with Bioshock Infinite at some random point in the startup menus before I actually get into the game world.
Latest nVidia 327.23 drivers
Twin Frozr MSI GTX 770 OC
i5 3570K @ 3.4GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 Pro 64-bitI do have MSI Afterburner and MSI Gaming App installed, but it doesn’t matter if I run those utilities (in any mode) or not run the utilities at all, B.I. crashes. I have not tried completely uninstalling the MSI utilities though. My reasoning is those utilities are installed and I can run Skyrim and Borderlands 2 just fine (all I’ve had time to test so far), so it’s unlikely to be the MSI utilities causing the crash. But of course, with troubleshooting, until you actually nail it down to a real cause, everything stays on the table as a suspect :-)

willypatParticipantHappy with Vorpx…steam Portal 2 crashes also. After about two minutes. Borderlands 2 on steam seems to work fine.

AnonymousInactivethe borderlands 2 link looks great except for the flat gun in the players face. is this the drawback to depth buffer method?

eqzitaraParticipantJust remembered this link
http://www.youtube.com/user/S3DGamerZone
If you look at videos of borderlands 2/Dead Island they are using depth buffer. Im not sure how it compares to Vorpx since all users are using same display and it may allow better optimization.
Mar 12, 2013 at 5:53pm #267In reply to: Supported Game you are most excited about?
AkParticipantDefinitely Battlefield 3.
Fallout 3 is a very good game, but it looks horribly outdated and will be bad with the rift I think.
Either you need a really good ‘photorealistic’ game like Battlefield 3, Crysis, Portal, Project cars, or a game with a particular style like Minecraft, Borderlands, dishonored.
Old games which tried to be ‘photorealistic’ looks very bad today. For exemple I can easily play at ratchet and clank because the cartoon style doesn’t look outdated, but games like the first tomb raiders, Vice city etc just look bad
