I can’t get VorpX to launch in VorpX Stereoscopic at all with Dirt 2 or Dirt 3. Every other “supported” game I try to launch with VorpX loads in Stereoscopic except for D2 & D3. I noticed in the excluded games list that VorpX has by default in ver.7.01 that D2 and D3 were both on the excluded list exes to not try to launch? I’ve tried EVERYTHING I can imagine and have done plenty of research to find variables to change in troubleshooting this problem.

Hi There,

Ive been trying to get dirt3 running in geometry 3d mode, i have made sure to force the game to start in dx9, but then there is no vorpx possible. i dont know why ?

If i dont force the game to start in dx9, then vorpx picks it up in dx11, only enabling Z-Buffer Modes.

Maybe Ralf knows a way to get it set up properly ?

Hi Ralf/everyone.

I recently got left 4 dead 2 on the steam sale, but Vorpx does not seem to work with it. When I start Left 4 dead 2, it starts normally without vorpx turning the screen stereo. When I exit the game I then notice vorpx is no longer running. I’ve double and tripple checked this. Turn on Vorpx via Vorpx Control shortcut, verify its running in task manager and in the side tray, run left 4 dead 2, exit left 4 dead 2, and vorpx is no longer running.

The other two games I have recently ran with Vorpx is BF4 and Dirt 3, no isses with either of them. Vorpx is still running when I exit either of them.

Any ideas? My setup is:

– Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit).
– 16 Gig Ram
– intel i7-4770 3.40GHz
– Asus GTX 770 Nvidia GeForce DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

What the title states, vorpx simply wont run at all in game. Im running a q9550 with a gtx 660ti and 12gb ram, so more than sufficient hardware. I’ve tried reinstalling vorpx numerous times with restarting my computer. I’ve disabled all programs that may even have the slightest chance to conflict with it (hooks, antiviruses, etc). I’ve followed everything on the basic troubleshooting. I’ve been testing between 4 games: Portal 2, Skyrim, Dirt 3, and ArmA 3. Not one have showed what apparently is a red vorpx overlay, they just start normally. Hitting DEL does nothing whatsoever…

Now does anyone have any clue to even (bare bones) just starting this?

As far as I see it, I’ve wasted $40 on this garbage…

Yup I got it! Thank you so much! :D
I have a quick question about how to use VorpX with some games though…
I am trying to get DiRT 3 to be able to drive with my xbox gamepad but while also being able to look around the interior of the car with the oculus but for some reason I can’t get it to work….I would appreciate any advice or help you can offer me :)

And jjordan12 I think you should be able to go into your email and find the email about your purchase and it should have the link to your download in there. :)

Thanks again Ralf.

What screen resolution and aspect ratio have you set your ingame settings to? I currently have it set to 1920x1080p, 16:9 aspect ratio. Is there a better one to use?

I have noticed a large amount of barrel distortion around the periphery of my view when looking up and down (eg the tops of buildings get stretched dramatically as I look up and down at them), something I did not notice at all in the other games I have tried so far (Dirt 2/3 & Grid).

It kind of makes me feel uneasy after a while =0) Is this because I have configured something wrong? I think it might have something do to with my screen resolution and aspect ratio, although I have tried a few different combinations and it always seems to be the same problem.

Definitive yes for DIRT2, not 100% sure atm for DIRT3, but I think so. Both games currently have to be forced to DX9 for Geometry 3D, but that’s easily doable with an .ini tweak.

BTW: Another benefit of vorpX is that you get (limited) head tracking in Codemaster games, since vorpX can use the head tracker as gamepad axis.

Hi Tankshell,

vorpX has a shadow fix for GRID in Geometry 3D. It’s not 100% perfect, but the vast majority of shadows look fine. See the screenshots below:

^? This is the internet, really the guy can request whatever he wants to, why do you feel it is necessary to correct him?
Sometimes I get the idea some people get worried when they see people making such demands because they are concerned that the complainers will ruin it for everyone else.
You can’t really blame Mr.Geddings; the ranting is somewhat unnecessary, but he is right to say the lack of communication between the dev and the people is a little harrowing to those who are waiting.

If you are replying to my post then shame on you. This is the vorpX official site and forum and you believe it’s okay for someone to request that someone leaks a beta illegally for other people to illegally download. What is wrong with you ?
I run a videogame store..I have no time for dirty pirates on any level.

Another developer with a Rift here waiting to take VorpX for a spin :) Mine arrived last Monday too (UK). I know you were having problems with tracking for Racing games like Dirt3, you mentioned you’ve solved them but I just though you might like to know I’ve added Oculus Tracker support to FaceTracNoIR, which can output freetrack2.0 (among other things), and talk to the TrackIR protocol in Dirt2,3 etc as well as many others. This means that even for titles that you haven’t got working head tracking, we can probably still get head tracking via this route, and this route goes through the games intended head tracking codepath, which might help deal with some rendering bugs (like head roll artifacts, which don’t happen using this).

Expect it in the next release (1.8) but contact me directly if you’d like a pre-release build to play with.
