I am using Fallout3. It works but it seems a flat big screen, i can move through it and looking around but i have no sense of 3D in the objects i see. All of them shows flat. Is it game related or is it vorpx settings
What settings must i investigate through the DEL key? 3D separation? I am new to vorpx and i am afraid to break anything…..

After reading roadtovr article about compatibility with skyrim in DK2 i ran to buy your product.
Now I find that really they are reviewing a not public version, right?. I think that this is not a good policy.
When i try to use the product i find that no head movement is detected by vorpx, not the camera (i know i must wait for the update), the rift alone. When I turn the head the image turns with me, i can´t look around is as i have a monitor glued to my head.
I tested it with fallout3, i tried stopping and starting the oculus service, the program opens ok in the dk2 forcing it with vorpx control. I tried using system config but the problem is the same.

    Am I doing anything wrong?

Excuse my english, it isn´t my native language.

I’m also trying to get Fallout 3 running. It’s frustrating, because most everything I’ve tried with VorpX has been instantly successful and worked quite well.. But it just seems to refuse to recognize FO3. There doesn’t seem to be much written about this online; most people seem to get it to work effortlessly. I don’t have New Vegas installed, and I’m running Win 7 — it’s the Steam version of the game. Can anyone give me a hand? Thanks!

I’d also point out that other games that worked previously on the same machine with Windows 7 32bit, such as Fallout, are still working fine on Windows 8.1 64bit. So it’s apparently something specific to Bioshock Infinite.

Fallout works for me too. There are 3D geometry mode have any problem.
The problem is games that have only z-normal and z-adaptive modes. I can not get a picture stereoscopic 3D only flat 2D.
    I tried a dozen games, but nothing…

I use keyboard and mouse. I’ve moved the snap view key to one of my side mouse buttons. Getting the right mouse/rift/game sensitivity settings doesnt take me very long at all, and fov 100-110 seems to work great for everything. So far with vorpx I’ve played f1 2012(logitech d-force pro), far cry 3, bioshock, bio infinite, fallout 3, bf4, ghosts, flight sim x(logitech x3d), and dead space 3. They all work fantastic. I havent configured vorpx for bf4 where i can fly the helicopters very well, but right now fallout 3 is pretty hard to tear myself away from. I haven’t played single player video games in YEARS and now i can’t seem stop. I just dont prefer to use gamepads. On some of the simpler unity demos I do use it, but for anything FPS it feels more natural for me to just use m-kboard.

I realise that the dll should not be there by default, i have put it there.. if you refrence this article It will show you that this is a fix to make the game run on windows 8, and it does, and is the only way i am able to play the game, is there no workaround for this? Has anyone been able to play Fallout 3 on Windows 8 using the VorpX Driver?

There shouldn’t be a d3d9.dll present in your Fallout 3 directory (or any game directory) with the fresh install. That is a system .dll, it absolutely does not belong in a game directory. I’m 100% sure that Fallout 3 does not install that .dll in its game directory.

vorpX hooks into this system dll, that is why it cannot run with the dll present in the game directory. If the game only starts with the dll present, there has to something wrong. Did you try to reinstall DirectX? Sounds like there is something seriously wrong with DirectX on your system if you need to manually copy d3d dlls.

No fresh install, game will not play without having the dll present, regardless of changing .ini files as other fourms have suggested.. once placing dll .. game works fine, but driver doesnt.. i seem to have a one or other type situation going on here.. which is very dissapointing as it is the only reason i have bought the driver..

No, sorry. vorpX will not work while a d3d9.dll is present in the Fallout directory. In Fallout 3 this usually indicates the usage of an ENB mod. If this is true for you, you have to remove the ENB mod or even try with a clean, mod-less Fallout 3.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

I just purchased the Driver, and am trying to get Fallout 3 up and running.. I am using windows 8. The problem is – to get the game running i need to add d3d9.dll to the source Fallout folder to make it run .. and it runs perfectly – Alternatively i cant have it in there to make VorpX work.. is there any known work around for this?

    Thanks

If the config app and the doc viewer do not start, you should try to reinstall/repair the Microsoft doNet Framework 3.5. Both programs need it.

The Fallout NV problem might be caused by your gamepad. If you have a gamepad attached to your PC, disable it in the Fallout NV optios menu. vorpX has its own gamepad emulation, so you can still use it although it is deactivated in the game.

    Hope that helps.

Oh right, I get it now…
Vorpx won’t recognize Fallout NV whilst the d3d9.dll is in the folder, but the game crashes in that way when I’ve removed it…

    Incompatible for the moment then?

    Lolz…

Got it to start (you were right about the d3d9.dll that found it’s way into my Fallout NV folder Ralph) but now it crashes as soon as I get to a game.
I initially tried to load a saved game, that crashed as soon as the loading screen was done, then I tried a new game, got through all the cut scenes (very cool) but then again it goes loading screen and crashes as soon as you would enter first person in-game.
I’ve tried all the 3d modes (Z-Adaptive etc).
    Any thoughts?
