    Hi Ralf.

I have few times tried to make a profile on Dusk. And everytime I think i got it, I uploaded a profile to the cloud.
But the 2 profiles I uploaded is shit!! I used to Firewatch and it does not give g3d.
But yesterday I tried to use the Fe profile and now it works perfect.
Are there any way to remove my 2 old Dusk profiles??

Just a little heads-up that for Unity 5 (Unity DX11) games it’s usually better to try other Unity profiles before the Gone Home profile. E.g. the Unity 5 base profile, Life is Strange – Before the Storm, Firewatch, Ori and the Blind Forest.

The Gone Home profile has inverted positional tracking, which probably is not required for most other games, so it may cause odd head tracking issues.

Geometry 3D with the recent Firewatch patch is working now. Make sure to update vorpX to the latest release 18.2.5.

Figured I’d give Firewatch a go finally, but none of the 3D options appear to work. Perhaps this years patch done messed it again.

Just a heads up. If it’s a simple fix, let us know. Thanks.

the guy in the video uses the profile for “firewatch” to play layers of fear … the video is from 2017 … maybe now we can use another profile, maybe life is strange -before the storm!

Got it working, is there any option to make the screen bigger or nearer to the couch?

Seems like the D3 profile doesnt work for that game, my custom pillars of eternity does

Zethos, Ralf, or anyone: Please let us know how to get Pillars of Eternity to work. I’ve tried creating custom using other existing Unity engine profiles: Ori and Blind, Firewatch but it’s not showing the game on the headset. Appreciate any help. Thanks so much again.

Cool. You might be able to get 3D by creating a custom profile with another Unity 5 profile as a base. Potential base profiles are for example: Life is Strange – Before the Storm, Firewatch, Ori and the Blind Forest, The Long Dark.

The process is fairly simple. All you have to do is make a copy of a profile you want to try in the config app and then apply the main .exe of the game to this copied profile.

Thanks Ralf, I find myself frequently trying to use vorpx with the various unity-based patreon projects I follow/support. I have had quite a lot of success with the Firewatch profile and the other profiles you mention there will be a big help.

The problem I keep running into however is the FOV settings the projects use. I have yet to find a way to increase the camera FOV on a game that is running on Unity without having access to the project’s source code. Does anyone know of a way to increase it to 110° on a game running on Unity Personal Edition?

There is no general Unity profile, you may have to try several ones and there is no guarantee that one will work for your game, but you could try these profiles:

Off the top of my head, there probably are a few more.

    Unity 4 (DX9):

    Slender: The Arrival
    Gone Home

    Unity 5 (DX11):

    Fe
    Firewatch
    Inside
    Ori and the Blind Forest
Life is Strange: Before the Storm
    The Long Dark

The most recent Unity profile with Geometry 3D support is Firewatch. However, it’s extremely unlikely that 3D will work with any other game using this profile. DX11 Unity profiles are almost certainly game specific.

I tried it also with the firewatch profile, its unity engine.

    But Vorpx didnt hook in.

Anybody knows if there is a possibility?

Would be nice: single and (or) multi player survival game, first person will be added in future.

Now the game during the sale period, if it supports Direct VR, I’m going to buy it.

I’m on a crusade to get Planet Explorers to work with VorpX :)

The game uses Unity 5, so I’ve started out by copying the Firewatch profile.

The problem is that it seems to do some odd shenanigans on launch.

On a regular launch: First Steam launches the games executable (PE_client.exe) and VorpX hooks it just fine. Problem is, that all the client does is load the Planet Explorers launcher (PE_launcher.exe) which is then displayed in the headset. The launcher is loaded at a resolution of 965×400. If you then click “start game” in the launcher it actually goes back and relaunches PE_client.exe with some additional parameters from the launcher (“D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planet Explorers/PE_Client.exe” -from-launcher -rw 1920 -rh 1080 -ql 5 -ocl OpenCL|NVIDIA_CUDA_____|GeForce_GTX_1080 -language english). At this point Vorpx gives up and things go back to the normal monitor.

If I run the actual command line handed by the launcher to the game directly, I can circumvent the launcher, but in that case VorpX doesn’t hook the game and it only appears on the monitor.

Anyone tried to get this to work with success already, or any suggestions how to get VorpX to hook here?

Does your Screen turn black or does your game start normaly? I have the same Problem with Firewatch. Did not find any solution even Firewatch is officially supported by vorpX
