When I use Vorpx desktop in oculus cv1 it ,it show ”vorpx desktop is taking awhile to load ” in headline, and i wait a hours it still not working.
Another I play outlast2 it show failed to find default engine .ini file
How can I solve it?
yeah i did get past that school nightmare thing. I was in the mountains after that, it looked very unnatural.. like, head movement wasn’t 1:1 with my real life head movement and i felt the view was unnatural too. Like, it wasn’t as perfect as portal/portal 2/stanley parable
Does anyone know if outlast (the first one) is better or not?
Hey, the video you linked is for outlast 1. Can I still use it for outlast 2..? Because outlast 2 looks very warped for me for some reason..
Hi Guys,
I couldnt find specific Outlast 1 help so if you don’tmind I will ask here. I am real impressed how Vorpx is working for me but can’t seem to get proper full vr with the game. When I move my head the view of the game shifts from one side to the other. No real 3d view like other game. THe only way to do this is to use the mouse to change the view properly in 3d space. Has anyone managed to get proper head tracking with this game? it looks so good but this issue kind of spoils it a little.
If I could solve this issue without using the mouse then that would be the cherry on the cake for me. There wasnt the usual head scanning/tracking option in settings (del). It was missing for this game but was there for Borderlands. I’m pretty new to this program so any help appreciated. Thanks Ralf btw!
I’m also having these issues and color depth is way off. I also tried everything, even win 10 reinstal and still nothing. When I first installed vorpx few days ago I had perfect GTA V and outlast, now it’s just some pixelated colors and the whole hdmi is spinning like crazy.
Props to Ralf for including a bunch of amazing cinema mode / 3rd person games this go around.
– Dark souls 3
– Witcher 3
– Assassins Creed origins
– Inside
– Ori
– Hellblade
– Elex
– Mass Effect Andromeda
And even games like Outlast, Far Cry 4, Primal, and Prey are great in cinema mode too.
Loving it!
Can anyone help me? I am getting a graphical corruption on the player models whenever I use vorpX in outlast 2, its like a crawling load of black specs all over each and every character including my own arms.
I’ve actually been very happy with profile support. Sure, as a user, I’ll always be wanting more, but I think its been pretty reasonable so far. Was pleasantly surprised to have Dishonored 2 and Outlast 2 included this release. It actually included more things than I was expecting given that this release was mostly focused on ease of use.
thank you for the feedback.
i cant wait to play outlast 2 too !
i played in VR outlast 1 with vorpx and it was incredibly scarry !
Outlast was one of my favorites with vorpx. The second is way better, you’re in for a treat.
How is the head tracking? I didn’t see that listed in the support notes, any head swim when you look back and forth?
The only problem I’ve had with headtracking is when I’m completely stationary the view will kind of oscillate one pixel in a random direction at a time sometimes. I think it has to do with mouse emulation but not sure. It’s not a big deal for me.
Also to note, it is running at 45fps, but it still seems quite un-smooth. And I’m not usually that picky on that stuff.
Another thing I noticed (Ralf) is that the FOV gets all messed up when changing between cinema mode and full vr mode back and forth quite often. In outlast 2 for instance, my FOV for cinema is stuck at some gigantic number. I can reset it, but I’m sure this isn’t supposed to be happening.
On that note, there is no optimizer any more, so how does one change the FOV now?
Just thought I’d start a conversation about this. I just can’t seem to get into the full VR mode on most games. I vastly prefer playing on Cinema mode with a big FOV, and zoomed in screen. (similar to the new immersive screen mode)
I love cinema mode, but whenever I try the full VR for anything (outlast 2, far cry primal, Prey, etc) it just feels off.
I noticed when I ran Prey in Full VR, the fov seemed way off (way too small) for instance. It seemed so zoomed in that the graphics looked bad too.
I also noticed that there way huge picture warping going on in the new Full VR mode.
Every game I try also, there is quite a bit of brain-strain when moving my head around, caused by the low framerate. Not sure if I just need to tinker with the game settings to get it smoother or what.
It seems much smoother and easier to play with Cinema mode.
I’ll definitely keep playing with the settings. I had a good experience playing skyrim 6 months ago, but still went back to cinema for the mouse and keyboard. I’m sure its possible to get it set up right for certain games, or I’m just missing something as I don’t use full VR very often with VorpX.
thank you for the feedback.

Just wanted to thank the devs of Vorpx… when I envision VR, most of the time I imagine playing amazing games in VR in a traditional sense with regular locomotion and controls. It’s insane that VR devs are ruining games by changing it to things that don’t work.
Alien Isolation with the Mother mod is amazing, and I’ve been looking for something similar for quite a while. Saw in the latest vorpx update that Outlast 2 is now available. I tried it, and holy cow. This is THE scariest experience I’ve ever played. Absolutely amazing. Nothing comes close. Not alien, not amnesia. Nothing.
You HAVE to try this if you’re into VR horror.
Thanks guys!
Hellblade, Ori, INSIDE, Witcher 3(only in Z-3D as G3D is to buggy), ABZU, Trine 1 and 2 all work great.. about to re-test Outlast and installing Slender right now
Sounds good Ralf, keep up the good work, VorpX is fantastic, just finished Outlast 2, no problems, great experience.
