I tried hooking PCSX2 to Vorpx before and while successful, no 3D options were available. Just in-headset flatscreen.
    Is this still the same?

Hi. I’m wondering if there’s a way to engage head-tracking to emulate the ‘look around’ right analog stick on an XBox One controller in PCSX2, specifically while in first-person mode in Kingdom Hearts II.

When you begin the game, you can switch to a first-person view by pressing the ‘view’ button, and move around with the left analog, and look around with the right analog. I’m just wondering if there’s a way to just move your head to look around rather than have to use the right analog stick to do it.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Ghost75757,

kept you waiting huh ? :)

I didnt play any VR last year, my headstrap of my VIVE is not good anymore and i bought an new Pico 4 this year, but sadly it had defective Lenses (its an Quality Product Issue) with Lens Disortions and i had to return it after the first day. I now want to wait until i get my 2nd one.

When i get my 2nd Pico 4 with hopefully perfect lenses, then i cant wait to play this Game in cinematic Mode VR ;)

Thanks for your Guide with this Camera Tool, i cant wait to try it ;)

To answer your Question: The Trick was, to Pause the watcher, when you wanted to play via the Desktop Viewer, because if you didnt pause the watcher, the games automatically hooked then in Vorpx and interfered ;)

By the way, did you already play MGS2 and MGS3 via PCSX2 Emulator with the 3D Plugin ?
    Its great.
Also there is now an 3rd Person Mod for Metal Gear Solid 2 PC Version, if this Game also had an Vorpx Profile ;)

Also, you you can play Twin Snakes via Dolphin VR or via “Normal Dolphin with SBS Mode for Cinematic VR experience.
And there is an great Boneworks Metal Gear Solid Mod. Just for your Interest ;)

There’s a patched version of pcsx2 that has SBS. I tried it so long ago that I can’t remember if it provided good results: https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Gsdx-3D-Stereoscopy-Patch?pid=522990#pid522990

The game came out originally on PS2 and Gamecube. If you can get it running on either the Dolphin or PCSX2 Emulator, you can use G3D in VorpX. You may even be able to play it with DolpinVR (not likely). I also see that it’s available on Steam. Since the game was originally made with RenderWare on PS2, maybe you can use the GTA San Andreas profile or another profile with the Steam version.

To play with the Quest2, you need a Link cable (any USB C) and Oculus Home software, and/or SteamVR (compatible with Virtual Desktop for streaming).

Hi! Thank you for your post. I’m using Oculus Quest 2 with Link Cable and Steam VR, but there is no VR for killer7.

So, yeah, i need to use VorpX. Do you think that if i’ll buy this software everything will works in the right way? What about the controls? I tried to change it but it looks impossible to play Quest 2 with killer7. Is that my fault?

If it’s not hooking via Steam, then you can try the Dolphin emulator, but you have to import the Dolphin Emulator Profile from the cloud if it’s not local now. It’s G3D on Cinema Mode though (Didn’t try Immersive). Dolphin has to be set to SBS in the graphics setting. I used the XBOne controller, but you can use the Quest controllers as a standard controller.

No software purchase necessary other than VorpX.

    Hi Ralf,

    1. Today, Pcsx2 got a new update.
Version 1.6.0 and i tested it with the “3D Plugin”.
I tested Tekken 4 and Metal Gear Solid 3.
I can confirm this still works. When you are ingame in PCSX2 you can change the 3D Mode to Over/under, Interlaced (for passive 3DTVs), Analygph and
Side by Side via numpad *, the 3D Effect is nice.

But the only problem is, in my older version of pcsx2 i was able to configure it from the Plugin settings to SBS. So it started everytime in SBS which would be nice for Vorpx. Now you have to choose ingame to sbs, but you need to this only once, then it will start everytime in SBS, maybe this wouldnt be a problem to include with Vorpx ?

    2. I couldn´t find any more official way about the Plugin, so its only from the PCSX2 Forum.
The filename in the forum is: GSdx3D_Dlls_rev68m.7z
You can find it when you google :pcsx2 3d plugin, then in the first link you find it.
Im writing this, because i dont know, if i am allowed to post links :)

Of course this all works already very good with Vorpx Desktop Viewer (with paused watcher) or Virtual Desktop, but yeah an official Vorpx Profile would be nice, like the Dolphin Profile for Cinema Mode.

    Two questions:

    1. Does this plugin still work with a current PCSX2? The latest (and only) version I could find doing a brief Google search is several years old.

    2. Is there some more ‘official’ way to get the plugin than a forum post? To support the plugin in a profile I would at least have to include instructions how to install it.

    Hello,

for the PS2 Emulator there is an 3D Plugin:
    Name: Gsdx-3D: Stereoscopy Patch.

It works in 3D Side by Side and im using it with Virtual Desktop, Vorpx Desktop Viewer, or with my 3D TV, the 3D is really good, like G3D.
Maybe this could be work to combine it with the PCSX2 Vorpx Profile ?

The PCSX profile is mostly an old experiment. No 3D support at all, I just included it years ago so that people can use PCSX2 in 2D.

Dolphin: Could you reset the settings to something else and then check whether vorpX can do the DX11/SBS setup automatically on your machine? It should do that normally (requiring one Dolphin restart after the settings have been changed). Let me know if that works for you or not.

Amazing work Ralf. I just tested vorpX with Dolphin and it works pretty much 100% perfect once you set OpenGl and SidebySide in dolhin options. By far the most easy to use showcase for VorpX.

Are there any plans for other emulators ? Citra is 3DS emulator and Citra natively supports 3D.

I noticed that there is profile for PCSX2 so i will try that now.

edit: PCSX2 doesn’t seem to work with VorpX despite profile. There seems to be an issue attaching VorpX to PCSX2 and just hangs on that.

Dolphin already has a working VR component.

That’s why I never cared to check it with vorpX. The VR build is fairly outdated now though and way more buggy than current regular versions, so a vorpX profile might still be useful. Also some may prefer the vorpX cinema mode. Wasn’t really a big deal due to the built-in stereo.

Possible to get an XBOX 360 EMU working or ps2? or ps1?

I tried PCSX2 a long time ago, but no dice as far as 3D is concerned. A lot has changed since then though, in vorpX as well as probably in the emulator, so it might make sense to check it again. Will do that before the next release.

    Hello everyone,

I would love to play some of my old lightgun shooters such as Time Crisis 2/3/Crisis Zone or Vampire Night in my VR headset, using a VR controller as a weapon.

Time Crisis 2 works fine in vorpx using PCSX2 1.5. I downloaded the USB plugin “nuvee” to simulate a lightgun using the mouse. As far as I’ve seen vorpx can simulate a mouse, but in order to move the mouse, you have to use the trackpad, pointing does not work. I tried using a small program called “vive mouse”, which basically can do what I need (Vive controller acts as a mouse pointer) but it stops working when opening a program.

Does anyone of you know of a way to fully simulate a mouse (something like in Virtual Desktop, unfortonuately the VR controllers also do not work inside PCSX2) using Vive controllers? Does VorpX have this functionality and I just did not set it up right?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I’ve been wondering about the plausability of getting vorpx to work with some emulators. I’m not sure there are enough 3d ps1/n64 games to make looking into those worthwhile, plus there are way too many of them to try and support all of them. But…

PCSX2 is in it’s “final” 1.6.0 prep stages, would be nice to see an update of the profile once that’s released.

RPCS3, I know it’s main renderer is vulkan, but it’d be pretty neat.

CEMU, the opengl renderer seems pretty stable now that he’s working on a vulkan option. Not sure that makes any difference, though.

I know they all still have work being done on their video backends, which makes writing profiles for them a whack-a-mole game at best, but hey, this is a wishlist (also why I suggested waiting for the “stable” release of PCSX2). I didn’t mention Dolphin since it’s got its own built in 3d option with some of the devs working on openvr support.
