bcozierParticipantGood idea, should be relatively easy to make the menu scale dependent on the set ImageZoom to a certain degre.
The other option would be to reset the Zoom to default while the vorpX menu is open. One of these will be in the next update.
Probably opt for the former, since right now the image shrinks in realtime as I adjust the zoom smaller.
I have to say right now I think vorpx is the killer app for DK2. With games like COD:MW3 BioshockInf and Skyrim (which I don’t own yet and haven’t tried) it makes the sparsely available tech demos look lame with the possible exception of Elite Dangerous. Hopefully you will get a good list of games working with Geometry 3D. I tried Sega and Sonic all star racing with nvidia 3D vision using the red/cyan glasses and it was a real treat but too much ghosting/crosstalk/coloration issues. Just what is involved in custom “vorpxing” a game like that? Takes a lot of time, in same cases is it even not possible, or is at always possible on a custom support level?

RalfKeymasterI suppose this is still Skyrim related? You should disable the controller in the Skyrim options. When a gamepad is active in Skyrim (and other Bethesda games), head tracking does not work.
vorpX has its own gamepad emulation that takes over when the gamepad is disabled in Skyrim. In this mode the right stick controls the vorpX cursor in the vorpX ingame menu, that is by design. You can remap keys to your liking in the vorpX ingame menus.

RalfKeymaster@ sidni : Maybe your Skyrim config is messed up somehow. Normally this key opens the text console in Skyrim (a semi transparent window that slides in from the bottom of the screen). Not sure how to help you if you can’t open it. There probably are a lot tutorials on the internet. Google for “Skyrim FOV” or “Skyrim console” (without the quotes).
I’d really like to help you directly, normally the steps mentioned above are all you need to do.

RalfKeymasterIn regard to head tracking latency please check the new “G3D Latency Enhancement” on the input page of the ingame menu. It does wonders in low framerate situations (but causes a few visual glitches in Skyrim and probably other games too – everything has its price).

RalfKeymasterPlease make a factory reset of your vorpX in the vorpX config app (just in case) and try again.
On the Optimize Game Settings page of the config app you can apply ini-tweaks for various games. Just select the game you want to play, and hit Apply Settings. Be sure to read any hint that may be given there carefully.
Setting the FOV through the Skyrim console works 100%. This is not a vorpX function, it’s something built into Skyrim. If you enter everything correctly, it does work.
If you are new to things like this, try without vorpX on a normal monitor first to see what happens.
1. Open the console with the [~]-key (the key left of the [1]-key. On international keyboards it may look different.
2. Type fov 120
3. Press [Enter]
4. Close the console with the [~]-keyAug 29, 2014 at 6:05pm #16908In reply to: Everything is zoomed in…

RiftafarianParticipantThanks Ralf, I tried turning VSync off. This made the headtracking smoother but the vertical lines on the screen were far too distracting.
I’ve adjusted the settings and have got to a comfortable level by changing the detail to medium and resolution to 1600×900 from the Skyrim launch options.
Seems something relating to the DK2 is affecting framerates, either inside or outside vorpX.
For anyone adjusting quality settings from the Skyrim launcher – once I had made the changes, the game went crazy with my character spinning uncontrollably. A system restart solved this issue.

RalfKeymasterWith Skyrim “Direct To Rift” mode in the Oculus Rift display config may work, but from my experience it’s even more sensitive in regard to stuttering when a games runs below 75fps (which almost certainly is the case in Skyrim).
Apart from that you could try to enable/disable VSync. That’s all I can think of.

jayzigParticipantGah! What a tease! I still cannot get any of the vorpX menus to work for Skyrim. The [delete] button does not open the “in-game configuration menu”. The [delete] button does nothing (it does however, open the menu when playing Bioshock Infinite). [shift][space] does nothing. The “vorpX positional tracking hint” pop-up will not go away! — and yes, my positional tracking IS working with the Oculus demo scene & Elite Dangerous. At this point I couldn’t care less about positional tracking, I just want to play Skyrim with the Rift. It looks freaking amazing, if it weren’t for that pop-up in the way! I’ve done a factory reset. I tried using the 360 controller again. The first time i used it I did get some sort of menu & the positional tracking DID WORK for about 1 second before the seizure inducing STROBE effect occurred. I have since turned OFF the 360 controller & disabled the option in the Skyrim options menu. Think I’ll try re-installing the game…

funkyhunkParticipantHi, I have a problem with New Vegas.
No matter the setting I always get the “failed to initialize renderer. Your display doesnt support the selected resolution yadda yadda yadda”If I set the dk2 as primary, or secondary, or select the second display adapter in the NV config, no difference.
“show only on rift dk2” or “use system default” in the vorpx config, still the same.I got it to work on BF3, Skyrim (although I get the “big hands”) and HL2 “native support”
Anybody got any tips?

RalfKeymasterJust a thought: If you use any graphics enhancing (ENB) mods or something similar there probably is a d3d9.dll in your Skyrim directory, which doesn’t really belog there. If that is the case, it will probably cause a conflict with vorpX.
Aug 28, 2014 at 9:34pm #16845
ryanythParticipantJust confirmed, Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut works fine too.
But no Skyrim :(
What is so special about skyrim that Vorpx just doesn’t initialize on it?
TiLTParticipantAnyone tried out the Skyrim Beautification Project ENB yet? I used an injector to get it up and running after verifying that it looked good on a regular monitor, but the results were mind-boggling in the Rift. Things like trees and fish would pop through every other item in the world, being drawn differently for each eye just to make it worse. The 3D became flatter and uneven. It was pretty much unplayable.
Was this just a freak incident on my side, or is this something others experience too? All the other essential mods from that project work fine with the Rift, it’s just the ENB that messes things up.
