HI, all i can say vorpx and MO run well together. I did a fresh install because my skyrim was infected by mods relicts due to prior using NMM .

I do have 260+ mods installed , and thanks to a clean install and MO no ctd and ils.

Mostly the problems are that MO is installed on a contaminated skyrim.

Best advice is delete all skyrim related files as well as the appdata folder entries . Save game maybe another reason for crashes.

The same way you use it without VorpX.
Just start VorpX before starting SKSE in MO.
(I realize this last sentence can be confusing so to be more precise – start VorpX as usual, do not add it to MO.)

It is been confirmed that it works for both Rift and Vive.

    Added:
About the ini’s, this is what I did. Created a profile in MO for VR and after running the game optimization in the VorpX config app I copy/pasted both ini files from MyGames/Skyrim to the ini editor of MO.

I see every where online people are able to use vorpx with skse and mod skyrim to play it modded, and they are normaly half an half with, you can only use NMM and the rest saying you are able to use MO. But no one really tells how they are able to get it to run with mod organizer. So does any one know how to use vorpx with mod organizers virtual ini’s and skse?

I am having some trouble getting Vorpx and Skse to launch. Can anyone describe how to set my startup to launch SKSE and Vorpx together?

Issue: Lunch TESV.exe and Vorpx launches. If I launch SKSELoader.exe Vorpx doesn’t inject.
I did get it to work one time but I can’t remember how or what I did to make it work. I can’t replicate it.

The resolution that VorpX sets is too low – 1280×1024. The resolution I ended up using is 1920×1440. You will need to set it up in the control panel of your GPU. For Skyrim (Oldrim) you don’t need to do that – when you start the game press Del to open the control panel and find the option Internal resolution upscale and set it to 2.
I have also set Skyrim to run in a windowed mode so Windows won’t change my desktop resolution every time I play.

If you experience problems with the head rotation tracking be sure you have run DirectVR. Also be sure the game runs at 45 fps or close to that. Try some of the Adaptive 3D modes (instead of Geometry) to see if it feels more fluid.

The HUD is a HUD is a HUD. I for one am quite happy it doesn’t rotate together with the in-game world. It is actually way better to play without it. At least for Skyrim – I have completely disabled it and it helps with the immersion/presence a lot.
Pressing the middle mouse button while in the game will zoom-out and show it like on a screen. Then pressing it again will put you back in the game. It is an easy and fast way to deal with the HUD when you can’t see it clearly in full VR mode.

    Hello,

I purchased the Oculus yesterday and I need help getting it to run with non-VR games. It’s become extremely frustrating due to a mix of being a complete newbie at this.

The non-VR games I’d like to play with the Oculus Rift:

    – Star Trek Online
    – World of Warships
    – Skyrim

They’re both F2P games and both play in 3rd person perspective. Now, I understand they are not VR games but I would at least want the headtracking to function as the camera view rotation and I would like the game HUD to be visible without having to literally move my head to the far right or far left to see stuff that is normally in the bottom left/right corner of the screen (if possible).

I tried using the Skyrim profile but the game was horrible in image quality (it looked extremely pixelated even up close..nothing like I see youtube videos of people playing it in VR) and no matter what settings I changed it just doesn’t improve. The interface/HUD is also unreadable and the head tracking does not work very well.. it just looks like I was sitting a few feet from an imax screen and that imax screen ‘followed’ my head movement when it came to the HUD elements. Aka any HUD item on the bottom left or right of the screen stays in the far botton left/right of my view in the VR system and moving my head does not rotate my viewpoint to put that bottom/left/right corner HUD element in ‘front’ of me. Only way to ‘see’ it is to move my eyeballs hard to those corners.

Using Vorpx I have succeeded in running World of Warships.. but the resolution/graphic quality is horrendous and the interface is extremely blurry.

Star Trek Online literally won’t work as the game doesn’t launch in the VR headset it stays on the monitor.

So I’d like some help with this.

    Quick Question:

Do I need to change the resolution the game is set to in its options to a specific resolution? Aka does the Oculus require games to be in like1600x1024? 800×600? Do I need to have the DESKTOP resolution in my computer also set to that so that it works better?

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello.

So I’ve been having trouble with two games: Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and Overwatch. (I’ve also been having issues with Skyrim, but I found a workaround for that.)

When I try to start Black Ops 3 with VorpX, it doesn’t ever start. I know it’s frozen, because I’ve checked in Task Manager, and it’s exhibiting the signs of a frozen program.

Overwatch, on the other hand, while not officially supported, has profiles for it in the VorpX Cloud, so I assume people have gotten it working. But when I try to start it up with VorpX, it starts normally, on my laptop’s screen.

If someone could help me with either of these two games, that would be much appreciated.

I too have enjoyed Skyrim, Fallout4, BioShock Infinate, and Metro LL, but recently I’ve been playing a lot of:

    – Battlefield 1 onilne
    – Star Wars Battlefront 2015 online
    – theHunter Call of the Wild (Assassins Creed Unity profile)

All 3 have in game FOV adjustment and good Z3D. And I’ve been playing online without a problem, no ban or disconnect.

I’ve noticed I end up choosing Z3D over G3D almost everytime, due to its agreeable shadows and faster performance – which means I can crank up the resolution and max the eyecandy.

p.s. As of a few weeks ago an update to Dying Light has unlocked native VR support again via quick file edit. It’s not perfect, but fun to check out.

Hi same problem as usual with certain games.
    Error message :
The game shows: cant find .exe, or game exe takes too long to load , execution error (Dishonored series ,GTA5)

The solution is to pause vorpx and as soon as the launcher closes its window, resume vorpx.

I do have that problem with certain games : Gtav,Skyrim,Dishonored (1 and 2)
whereas Skyrim Se ,Fallout and Alien Isolation start without that pause trick.
I guess the game start too fast and vorpx cant hook that fast.

Hey, I have an issue with Vorpx modifying my SkyrimPrefs.ini even though it’s set to read only. It keeps setting deffered shadows to 0 even though I don’t want that because I’m trying something. Is there a way to stop Vorpx from modifying this file?

Mod support drives sales and they know it, all devs know it which is why devs add mod support if they can. I would add mod support to my own game if I could but that would require an intense rewrite of my entire game. There is no need to worry about whether the VR versions will allow for mods.

I do however believe that will be a need for mod authors to update their existing mods because it is obvious that made some serious changes to the engine. The PS4 does not have the power to run Skyrim in VR without major changes. The way the Current Skyrim handles drawcalls, physics, reflections, water, screenspace image effects, and dynamic shadows is not ideal for VR. Too much CPU stress holding back the GPU from hitting stable high FPS.

The fact that it is running smooth on the PSVR is proof they did some major rewrites.

Mods will most likely need to be updated.

Feeling good about the motion controls though as that may finally make Skyrim Combat as good as the rest of the game.

vorpX is only active while it is running. In Skyrim however the camera FOV is changed by vorpX, Skyrim then writes the changed FOV into savegames.

If you want to go back to monitor gaming, you can either load an older savegame from before you started to play with vorpX or manually change the FOV back to a value suited for your monitor:

    1. While in the game open the console with the ‘~’ key (the one below ESC).
    2. Type ‘fov 75 75’ (withiut the quotes) into the console and submit with the ENTER key
    3. Close the console
    4. Save the game

Shadows are disabled by vorpX in Skyrim SE. You can change how vorpX deals with the shadows in the vorpX ingame menu (image page). The option is called G3D shadow treatment.

BTW: I would highly suggest to use the regular Skyrim with vorpX. Not only does it run better with vorpX on most machines, there are also less visual glitches (e.g. the shadows).

mods aside: you don’t need scripthook or OpenIV for Vorpx, right? And ENB or any other injector must be deleted before even trying VorpX, as it practically does the same, no?

    1. No, you do not need any mods for VorpX to work. However if GTA ENBs work the same as Skyrim ENBs, they’ll directly interfere with VorpX’s ability to hook onto the screen image (maybe your issue?). To circumvent this conflict, you have to install the Enbboost injector using the alternative method included in the ENB installer directions.

    2. The only mod I do use is the grandtheftvr.com mod which adds full hand/weapon motion controls.

    3. After uninstalling my mod and verifying the integrity of the latest version of vanilla GTA V, I ran the game with the latest version of VorpX, and had no issues. If you have removed all mods and still can’t run the latest vanilla GTA V with the latest VorpX, I recommend starting from scratch by uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

I tried it with Syrim and it worked well but now I don’t want to play it in VR anymore. I have tried launching skyrim after exiting vorpx, tried uninstalling vorpx, even tried reinstalling skyrim. But it still displays in the VR mode, like the visual is like bent in a 3D way. How do i get rid of it to play it normally because it is so frustrating.
